The neck bones and the red beans and rice are next level good and the corn bread was so buttery and delicious. Honestly there wasn't a bad bite of food. We also had the special house cocktail which was sweet and fruity and delicious. Check the hours before you go and come with a big appetite, we both brought at least half of our meal home and now I can look forward to having it tomorrow!

Ordered a small combo with ends and perfectly cooked catfish fillets/tenders. Sweet potatoes casserole was very tasty. I am not a greens expert but these were bitter. I did not alert the server but I thought maybe that was the way the restaurant made them. The peach cobbler was rich and good. Should have ordered ice cream as able mode. Large portions. My only big concern was the extra utility charge on the bill. I did not see it until I got nome, a little late to discuss.. On a $102.00 bill it was just shy of $18.00. I would definitely recommend but be aware of the extra charge. Restaurant/Service fee is the designation on the bill, listed as 18.5% and "is not a tip" per bill. Music was great. Set up with a piano but we were there before the sound group arrived.

They also do bbq and I haven't had any in a while. I ordered the sampler with rib tips, burnt ends and fried shrimp. The grits were good and the catfish was light and crispy. The rib tips were coated in a sweet bbq sauce. Not my first choice but they were good. The burnt ends were tender. I also got to try the mini corn muffins - yummy, the mac and cheese - yummy, the yams - and the potato salad - bland. The owner told us it was his fault the potato salad wasn't good. He was a very friendly guy. Answered all our questions and spent time with us. It's always good to speak to the owner when you are from out of town. He's done a lot with the place. We would have gone another day to try other things but our schedule was tight. Everyone was happy with their choices. It's a nice place, live music on certain nights, lots of room.

Great food! Great vibes! Great Service!…read more A soul food restaurant, if not one of the best; may be THE best in the Denver metro area, and the state for that matter. The food is a fine example of excellent soul food done with love through culinary knowledge and experience. We ordered the Oxtail plate with greens and yams, which included cornbread smathered in sweet, buttery love; Catfish with greens and mac and cheese. Nothing was overly salty or too much seasoning. I am pretty picky when it comes to soul food, and am now a regular customer.

Real Soul Food: Blazing Chicken Shack II…read more Listen, if you're looking for that authentic, seasoned-to-the-bone flavor in Denver, look no further. Blazing Chicken Shack II is officially in my rotation, and for good reason. I've gone through the menu, and I'm telling you right now, they are putting their soul into this kitchen. Check the breakdown on why this spot is a Denver staple: The Wing Dinner: Pure perfection. The wings are top-tier and easily some of the best you're going to find in the city. The crunch, the seasoning, the moisture, it's all there. The Catfish: Man, listen. This is top three in Denver, period. If you think otherwise, go argue with yo momma, don't argue with me! The Sides: Everything is cooked with straight-up love and grace. The okra? It tastes exactly like my grandma used to make it. That's that nostalgic flavor you just can't fake. The Wait: Look, let's keep it 100, be prepared to wait. They are cooking everything fresh to order. If you show up during peak hours, just know it's going to be a minute. Quality takes time, fam. The Vibe: My only real gripe is I wish they were open longer, but I get the mission. When you're serving heat like this, you go until it's gone. Pro-Tip for the Inner Circle: Don't just show up and wait in line. Order online first, then give them a quick call to modify it for dine-in. By the time you pull up, your food is ready, and you can go straight to a table and start grubbing while it's fresh and steaming. Final Verdict: This is a Mile High favorite. If you haven't been, you're late to the party!

I came with a few friends and it was a fun experience to try. You start off by ordering with the waitress and then the subsequent rounds, you order off the QR code that's at the table. The restaurant was pretty busy so we had to wait longer than we wanted to place an order. As far as the food, it felt more like baos and dumplings, not so much the classic dim sum styled foods. Another con was that the menu had so many non available items-items that would have completed the dim sum experience a little better. If you want actual dim sum, go somewhere else. It was fun for the experience and value, so I was glad we came once.

Table next to us says they only come for lunch and feel like they only serve the more wanted items for dinner and just say they are "out" because they've NEVER had it. If that is true, it is highly disappointing. AYCE is 18.99 per person. Here is what we were able to order: 1. Scallion Pancake- good crisp! I liked how light and delicious this bite was 2. Crab Cheese Wonton- these were HOT in terms of temp, but 99% cream cheese so it was okay. 3. Chili Oil Wonton: loved the flavor, however skin was a bit tough, didnt steam long enough. 4. Chicken Wing- very very dry, comes without any sauce or seasoning so its on the side. 5. Pork Bun- a bit dry, but it had a savory flavor too it, not as sweet. 5. Chasu Bun- loved this one more than the 6. Pork Dumpling (did not have Beef)- it was okay, filling was decent, but again the wrapper had a weird bite to it. 7. Soup Dumplings: definitely better than the other dimpling, however they all stuck to the bottom so the wrapper ripped and I never tried the soup. 8. Chicken Feet: i normally love chicken feet but the braised sauce was underwhelming and not very...good? flavorful? 9. House Noodles: the noodles tasted a bit off. Green beans tasted and looked can to me. It just wasn't a favorite. Desserts: 1. Mango was very artificial. 2. Mocha was good, nice chocolatey taste Overall...I dont know if I would be back. I had such high hopes to try the spareribs, taro buns, golden lava buns, beef dumplings, lotus bun, sticky rice, etc. But they were all "out". Again...for an AYCE place at lunch it was $42 before tip and it would've been nice to have the full menu array. The ambiance is very bright and large screens, so it can definitely capture your attention. There was only one main server and she was doing her best.
