I will never order anything from this place I ordered an 8 piece chicken with rolls and a large okra, the okra was hard and chewy and cold the rolls where hard land crunchy on the bottom it it looked like they had only halfway risen. Drive thru stood at a complete standstill for 8 minutes. I called the store while in the drive thru and asked if they were open or if there was a problem because I was #3 of 7 cars in line. Two others drove off prior to that also. I was told they were short staffed. Immediately the line moved and began to operate efficiently. However, when I got to the window the staff was rude. They did not give me one of my drinks and when they did it was a small (charged for a medium). When I got home the food looked like it had been thrown in the container. Gravy container was sideways and leaking out. Would not recommend. read more

Service is horrible! I went in to order and had to wait several minutes until anyone even came to the counter to take my order. Several other people came in after me and ordered and received their orders before me. I went to inquire and was told drive thru was stopped. This was a lie. My husband was out in the truck and counted 15 vehicles go through before he came in. It had been. They said my order was being packed up at that point but it didn't appear to be true either. We got a refund and left and won't return. I advise others to skip this one, as well. read more

The last three times I've used the drive thru they have messed up our orders, the first two were missed French fries on one and no green beans on the next not a big deal but still a little irritating. This third time they missed the tartar sauce and hush puppies out of my wife's fish dinner and out of mine they missed my fried okra and this was very irritating missing three items that you have paid for and need! I could have checked to see if I had everything at the window but there was a line of cars and the girl at the window insured me everything was in our meals. I love chicken and I use to love Chicken Express. But the last SEVERAL times the food is not even warm plus it's almost black. U can tell it's old. Then I thot I wud try the fish and it was old too. I kept thinking it wud be better the next time.I don't have money to just waste. Very frustrated. One pays for something expecting it to be decent. Best location I have been to. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is yummy and wait time from order to food is short.

Quality has really dropped off in the past year. Used to be our favorite for their catfish filet dinners, but pieces keep getting smaller and smaller. Corn on the cob is tough and with no taste, biscuits are dry and stale. Service has a general lack of attention, as we did not get our drinks with light ice as requested, and no tartar sauce in the bags as requested. Much better choices out there for catfish and even chicken, as we stopped buying that from this location months ago. Once a good Friday night go-to place, it is now on the list to avoid completely. read more

Everytime I go the lobby is closed. One day they close at 1700, the next 1600. It's different every single time I go. Drive thru only. I can't use drive thru, I have an electrical issue with my car. I cannot roll down my windows. And even if I could I am not going to wait 45 minutes to an hour and line you guys have lost a long-time customer over this nonsense. read more

I have never left a bad review before on yelp, but today I didn't have anything positive to say about my experience. I came here this morning right at 11am. They had been open a half hour but looked closed still. I ordered chicken tenders, fries & Mac n cheese. The fries & chicken were clearly leftover from yesterday & tasted like they simply reheated them. The fries tasted microwaved. The Mac tasted strongly of metal & was very watery. Very clean and fast service. Extremely attentive employees and managers. The owner is also very nice. All our food was very fresh and had clearly not been sitting under the warmers long. I know so many people that won't eat fried chicken anywhere else! And did I say that the store was EXTREMELY CLEAN! We visit this Chicken Express several times a week. When we come during the day time we always have a great experience. My problem is that several times we have come at like 920 to 930pm and the doors are locked when the sign on the door clearly says that the inside is open till 10pm. This in turn causes the drive thru line to be all the way around the building. If your going to close at 930 fine but change the sign. Tonight you had 3 cars leave because we couldn't go inside. read more

I really love the chicken strip box meal here... Their prices are great! The chicken is really really moist and the tea is just right! They even put an extra chicken strip in your meal every once in a while! Inside us always clean, even the bathroom, and the staff has been extra friendly to me in the past! Love it! My husband and I were having a hankering for catfish but didn't want to go out for dinner. I suggested Chicken Express because we knew they had great chicken and sides... so we just took a gamble on their fried fish. It was wonderful! Firstly, the drive-thru was very fast and I was informed as to the time the fish had been cooked (30 min prior) and was offered that or the choice of waiting 7 min for another batch to be cooked. I opted to take the fish that was cooked 30 min before ( that sounded pretty fresh to me!). We both ordered sides of fried okra and cole slaw. The pieces of fish were large in size, hot and fresh, and the crispy cornmeal batter was just right...with tender white flakes of juicy fish inside. The fried okra was awesome, as always, and some of the best around. We also thought the cole slaw was great. Several hush puppies were included with the meal, and they were fresh, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside....although they were quite small, like bite-sized...which was fine. Lastly, they didn't forget the tartar sauce, and we had plenty. We will definitely return in the future and order the delicious catfish! read more

So this place must have been having an off day. The chicken strips were so greasy they tasted bad. And they refused to take my chicken express gift card. It shoes poor ownership skills because the owner knows about the inability to use gift cards and does not care.
