I know when people choose to go out to eat rather then stay home and cook, they expect a hot meal! It doesn't matter what time or day you have to always request your food to get cooked fresh at this place because if not the chicken could possibly be sitting in the heating lamp pass 4 hours. The owner of Lake Jackson Chicken Express location needs to be informed on his/her employees and especially their managers, the waste of food I can imagine they have in the food loss bucket unless they are making enough for the employees to take home from their shift. All I know is that this location of employees needs to be retrained and have ownership attitude. We continue to go back because the food is good when it is especially when we request for the food to be fresh! The atmosphere inside feels awkward sometimes as if we (customers) are bothering them or causing them to work. read more

Food awesome. Service is alright. I don't approve of the many pants low, sagging employees there are here. Almost didn't want to eat here even though they were tiding up the dining area. Ambiance isn't the greatest either. Would recommend coming inside. Drive thru takes a while also. read more

My kids were in town and wanted to pick up some dinner for the family , they spent $41 and all they got were 20 chicken strips and two tiny containers of mac and cheese . I was do angry I didn't even eat . Complete ripoff I will NEVER set foot in there again . read more

It's clean and the staff was friendly. I hear the catfish is really good. I have not had it though. The breading on the chicken strips were bland, but the portions are large. The mashed potatoes and gravy was good. My daughter enjoyed the mac n cheese. I would come back to try the catfish. Oh and the gizzards were good. read more

Called in my order. They said 15 minutes. Arrived 20 minutes later. They said it would be another 15 minutes. Waited 25 minutes, still not ready. That's it. I really like chicken express and was glad to see one open in Lake Jackson. But this particular location is beyond terrible. These people are extremely disorganized and totally apathetic. We have had good experiences with Chicken Express and I like their chicken. I like Livers (call me weird), and this is one of the few places to get them. However, last night we picked up the 12-piece chicken with 2 sides. There's only 2 of us, but leftover chicken is great and my husband has to have fried okra and I always want something different. Went through the line quickly, paid, and went home - 5 miles. Unpacked everything and realized the okra was missing. Husband went back to get it - again 5 miles, which takes 10 minutes. They handed him the box of okra with no bag. Grease on the seat anyone? They apologized for leaving out the okra, but kind of half heartedly. It would have been really nice if they'd offered something for the extra 10 miles and 20 minutes we wasted. Even a drink would have been nice. I'll give them 3 stars because they're usually really good, but a bag and a drink would have earned them 5 stars. read more

I had high hopes for this place never having eaten at one before. But after several visits I was disappointed. For one the chicken is bland and even dry since they seem to have spent a lot of time under the warming lamps. The catfish was not much better. The portions are rather thin. I usually love chicken express but this location was not what I was used to experiencing. Not sure where the manager is but at 1:00, the drive thru attendant said they had no Cole slaw or tarter sauce for my fish meal. French fries and Hush pyppiwere not even close to being hot. read more

I was delighted to find Chicken Express opening here in LJ. I think their chicken is less greasy than Popeye's and finally the local Church's closed down. However, the problem here is the waiting time. I've never been inside; I live close and get mine to go. However, I'm not going to wait 10+ minutes for chicken, and this has happened several times. I order either a two piece or three piece dinner so it's not the volume of chicken involved. For whatever reason they simply don't keep enough chicken cooking. If people don't mind the wait, it's good chicken. For me, I'm a pretty good chicken cook, and for that amount of hassle I'll just fry it at home. read more

We needed food to feed a lot of people we were tired of Pizza so we got the largest thing of Chicken, Okra, Mashed Potatoes, Fry's. Not a big fry eater but they tasted fine, the mashed potatoes were also good, Not as good as KFC but good, The okra was good the breading was heavy for my taste but better than most, the Chicken tasted fine the crust was good the meat inside the same as every where else. This is the second time we visited this location, the first time was awesome, this time sucked, We called the order in about 10min before we got there so the livers and gizzards would be fresh. Not only were they not fresh they were barley warm and the bottom of the box was cold and the livers and gizzards were in the same box. We have been going to CE's in north and central Texas for years and that had never happened, even the last time we visited this location they were separate, I like gizzards the wife likes livers. When we called to complain the girl that answered the phone was talking to my wife and she could hear the manager in the background yelling at the girl that my wife was talking to, with that my wife asked to talk to the manager and handed the phone to me. When he answered I told him what had happened and he said he had been working for CE for 7 years and they always put them together, I told him that was not true in my experience and asked for his name, he quickly gave it to me said "sorry and have a good day" and hung up on me. I tried to call back and get his name again because all I got was "James", and they would not answer, this kid has no business dealing with the public and is a poor reflection on the other great folks I have dealt with at these establishments.
