The staff and food was great experience! It was fast service with a great prices. Highly recommend

This place seemed hopeful with fun music with a colorful vibe. My best advise is to sit in the parking lot admire the building and listen to the music. The staff was helpful and friendly or this would have been one star. The seats are uncomfortable and not for a slow and easy meal. The food, well shame on the cook. 1. I calculated I have eaten over 10,000 oysters in my time on the full Gulf coast, the oysters they served were not to be eaten. Flat, gray and nasty, in addition they were not even shucked correctly with the muscle still attached to the bottom shell. The staff did acknowledge they looked bad and I offered to pay because it was my choice not to eat, they were kind and took off the bill. Suggestion, DO NOT SERVE Oysters that smell and look wrong. 2. The blacken Redfish, dry, NOT spicy at all and served with a ramekin of hot margarine or butter, which was needed to choke down the dry and nearly flavorless fish. What a shame, I have again eaten blacked redfish at least 100 times in my travels. This was BAD, but at least edible. 3. Key lime pie... Well, an 3/8inch rock hard crust and sticky and chewey filling is not right. The crust was both under baked and hard. The filling was like hard jello no whip cream, or meringue no sauce or garnish, just a slab of off green creamish jello and a under baked too thick and hard and dry crust. I did eat it as to not be a total jerk. 4. Finally, they cannot even get ranch dressing right. It was more like ranch mayonnaise with no flavor. Sad. Bottom line it is sad that the nice staff is burdened with a bad cook. This would make me dislike Gulf coast food if I didn't know better.

Service was fine but the food was terrible. I got the buffet. The buffet had very little to choose from and they had a waitress serving some of the food to you. They used imitation crab meat in the crab au graten. We paid almost $100 for 2 adults and 2 children for food that should have been $10 each on a good day

Mimosas and gumbo. Soups were okay.

I would give one star, but giving two stars only because the wait staff was so nice. We had seen on Facebook that the Swamp Shack had a buffet spread on Sundays and thought we'd give it a try. It was not a "spread". Just a bunch of fried food, soup and shrimp. The $2 mimosas were pretty decent and that's about it. Most everything on their buffet was over-cooked and dry. You couldn't even tell what one dish was from the next. We paid $23 each for a few bites of food. Maybe their regular menu items are better, but we will never know. Avoid the buffet, unless you are looking to just eat a bunch of bland fried food. The cobbler was served in a paper dish and tasted like cardboard. Was so disappointing. We really wanted to like this place, but it just wasn't worth what we paid. It looks cute enough, but just kind of meh. Some TVs with random sports on, no music. Bright walls and tributes to our military, which was nice, but we left less than satisfied.

Shrimp poboy with large shrimp and a side of green beans which were so good. Husband had hand cut ribeye. Food was excellent.

Food was excellent and service was very good. We wondered why the place was empty except it was a little early for dinner but we're old folks. Lol . Shrimp poboy was excellent and fresh. Husband loved the ribeye. We'll go back when we're back in LJ.

What a great find as we headed to the beach for our anniversary. The food was amazing, the service so friendly, and on the way to Surfside! The redfish was simply delightful and full of flavor. Perfect cream sauce w crawfish and it comes w my favorite, dirty rice! The shrimp and grits had some of the best shrimp I've ever had! Thought they might do something for our anniversary, but probably t the type of spot.

Really thought the buffet every Sunday is a STEAL! For only $23 per person you get all sorts of food, including gumbo, etouffe, stuffed crab, fried okra, dirty rice, fried shrimp, and a bunch of other shrimps and fish. I was craving gumbo so the ayce really hit the spot, and the crawfish etouffe was absolutely delicious. As you can see in the picture, they're quite generous with the proteins. My bowls were packed with shrimps and crawfish. Dirty rice was also a favorite at our table, and cocktail shrimp was so plump and juicy. All in all, every menu item could hold its own and I was very impressed considering that it was buffet food.

1/2 dozen raw oysters - fresh & delicious!!

By far the best raw oysters around! So fresh. I will be back next time I'm in town.

    Love the jumping crawfish!

I've been to Asiel's twice this month…read more The first time, I went with my husband. We got there on a Sunday around 11:30am, and it was packed. We had to wait about five minutes for a table. Our server was very nice. He came to our table not long after we sat down and took our drink order and brought our drinks out quickly. Then he took our food order. My husband had a party melt and I had the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes. I also ordered two scrambled eggs. We did not have to wait too long for the food. A young male server brought us our food, and I told him I was missing my eggs. He said he'd check on that and never returned. By the time our server came, I was done eating so I said no to the eggs even though he said he would go get them. He also apologized profusely, and he seemed genuine. The food was good. It wasn't the best I have had, but it was decent. The prices were decent as well. The second time I went to Asiel's, I went with my 10 year old daughter on a Friday around 11:45am. It was't at all busy. There were maybe like three tables with two people each. My daughter and I waited almost five minutes for someone to come seat us, but no one ever came or even acknowledged us. I won't go back to Asiel's after this last time. First forgetting my food and not bringing it to me after I let them know I didn't receive it and second because we were not acknowledged at all even after waiting close to five minutes to be sat.

Our greeting when we came in was not the most friendly, woman behind the bar didn't even smile and mumbled something that I assume was our greeting. Our server, though nice, seemed very new and inexperienced. But she seemed to be nervously trying to do a good jobl My drink order never was what I ordered. I think there was confusion with the server and woman behind the bar. Our server didn't seem old enough to serve it to me, it was broght over by bar tender. It was pricey for not ever really getting what I requested. The day we were there, they had one of the garage doors open and the front door as well. It was so cold in there, we almost left to go elsewhere as I suspected the food would be cold before it got to the table to be eaten. After our 2nd request, they finally closed the one garage door,, but was still a bit chilly. Then they told us they just put the heater on. (the heater helped but have entry door open to bring food in from food trailer) We didn't realize the food was made in an outside trailer and walked inside. I got the crawfish tail ? Ettofee baked potato ? Ettofee sp?. Although The potato was well baked, and the sauce was Very good, there was only 4 or 5 very small crawfish tails on it. I ended up taking it home with me as it just wouldn't stay warm enough for me to eat more of it. I wish they would of had some type of thermal box, or cover to bring the food in from the outside trailer to the table... My husband had a mushroom swiss burger which was good, and some really delicious flat shaped fries, but again, keeping our food warm enough to eat it was not the best situation. There were some really good looking things on the menu, but it was just too cold in there that day. During nice weather, I'm sure our experience would have been much better, as it seems like a really nice place with a very nice patio with great view.
