As other reviewers have said, the staff were not overly cheerful but they were all busy and hustling making sandwiches. I did not have to wait very long. My sandwich was perfect. I would not hesitate to go back. The parking lot is kind of tight, which made for some interesting maneuvers to get in and out around all the SUVs and big trucks. I got to this location staff was all working on a order, I pulled up to the counter not one person acknowledge that I was there until I made eye contact with one of the staff members, the lady behind me had asked if I had ordered I answered to her that I was waiting and the young lady just gave us a sassy "we are busy" me and the lady just looked at each other like okay...So she takes my order like she's trying to hurry up as more customers where coming through. Now the tables I had to walk around to find one I felt comfortable sitting on because not one was wiped down. Fast service, hot and fresh But lobby was not cleaned, no napkins stockec or toilet paper in women's restroom. 3 gentlemen behind the counter took no initiative to wipe tables off or tend to restroom. In general, I like Firehouse subs. This particular one is an exception. I ordered a foot long tuna with double meat and no onions. It was $34 delivered, including a tip for the driver. What I received was mayonnaise and tuna soup with double onions. It was literally $34 worth of garbage in a bag. I threw it away, and called the restaurant. They refunded $20, leaving me to cover the delivery and the tip. That is a reasonable offer, but still disappointing overall. read more

We have never been to LJ firehouse, but have been to other locations. First complaint is customer service. I look forward to my visits to Firehouse Subs in Lake Jackson. The staff always greets me when I walk in and they pay careful attention when I order to get it just right. You can tell that the employees take more pride in what they do than the other fast food places. And the subs.... I have not been to a Subway since I discovered the sandwiches at Firehouse Subs. I refuse to. Subway cannot touch the quality of ingredients and taste of a fresh Firehouse Sub. I have seen reviews talking about the wait time. I think the wait times I have experienced have always been in keeping with the quality product I have received. You know what? I'm going there today for lunch. I just made myself hungry. P.S. One evening I went in there just to buy a drink while the kids were down at Baskin Robins getting ice cream with my wife. Guy behind the counter handed me a cup and said it was on him. If you compare Firehouse to Subway, Blimpie, Quiznos or any other chain sandwich shop, it really does merit 5 stars. The quality is easily recognized and they do a lot of charity for firefighters. If you are looking for a great tasting sub with ro regard for price or time, or even getting the sub you order than I would recommend this place. I went there with my four kids and dropped $50 on lunch and two of them shared, not horrible but definitely at the top of what I am willing to pay for a sandwich. The place is clean and the atmosphere is not to bad. We seemed to wait a very long time, not an unbelievable amount just seemed a bit excessive for a simple sandwich, especially since they were not busy. When our order finally came out two of the subs were not what we ordered, and to be honest they were not very generous with the portions. Very disappointed with the meal I had. Both my husband and I got sick within hours of eating. Spoke to an employee over the phone & she admitted that the pastrami did look weird but they still were using it. Next day I spoke to the owner and he didn't even sound as if he cared. He said he personally sliced the meat & it looked fine. Someone's lying. Either way; I was left feeling that the owner was just out for MONEY & oh well if a patron got sick. I've ordered the chicken salad 3x and the first was good: lots of veggies, skimpy on the chicken and cheese but not too bad. 2nd: mostly lettuce, 3 pieces of bell pepper, about 2oz of chicken and no cheese. I figured it was a bad day so I gave it another try about a month later and it was worse. Nothing but maybe (and I'm being generous)4 pieces of small diced chicken, 3 pieces of cheese about the size of a pencil eraser, and the rest lettuce -nothing else! They do good things and the food is good. I do feel the prices are a little steep for what you get. The flavors of the sandwiches are superior to that other places, but for a little more money one can have an entrée at other restaurants. I liked the Meatball sub, but one of the choices for the sauce is spicy. Maybe too hot for some. If you like hot subs then this is a good place. My advice for the chain is to maybe have an awards card (and maybe they do) to build up points for discounts. So I would give them about 4.5 if I could. read more

Spent $9.00 on a Firehouse Salad. The lettuce in the salad was 90% lettuce core. The white core of the lettuce that a normal person or restaurant would clean off the green part of the lettuce and throw out. Not serve it to your customers!! Spoke with Manager and all he could say was "can I make you another salad"? With what? The same white cored lettuce I just paid $9.00 for? Don't think so Mister!!! Took my two boys in the other day for a late lunch. The man who took my order was very nice! As we ate a man, who I assume was the manager, was organizing some tables and went out of his way to say hello to us and just show kindness. Great food, wait was a little long. I was introduced to Firehouse Subs back east and, now that I'm two hours away from the nearest one, I go every chance I get. It's a great chain. This was my first time at the Lake Jackson location and the food was good as expected. It was an easy in and out from the highway. A lot of locals were there. The two things that I would like to see: 1) Carbonated cherry limeade. The flat cherry limeade was ok, but not as good as it could be. 2) Faster service. Based on my receipt, it was 12 minutes from order time to getting the food. Granted - this was during lunchtime and there were other customers. There were a lot of people behind the counter, but no one seemed to be in a hurry. Not many orders were being served. Just after I got my food, I did see the manager come out and it looked like he was trying to help the crew get organized and expedite. Fix the above, and I could give it four stars. read more

This place beats the pants off Subway! Hot and fresh sandwiches and the staff is friendly and fast. This location can get crowded around lunch time but they do their best to keep the food coming out and I personally have not a problem with wait times.
