This store is clean, well stocked, and has very nice employees. HEB brand items are always good. I chose them over the more well known brands since the price is about 1/2. You can't beat HEB. HEB pick up service is amazing!!! I used this complimentary service several times while I was on vacation in Surfside. You place the order on their website or app. And when you arrive at the time you had chosen, you text the parking spot number and they load your vehicle. They always had the products I wanted in stock and there were plenty of pick up order times when I placed the order the night before. Let me start with everyone should know -PHARMACIST (NO MATTER THE CHAIN) MAKE HUGE BONUS $$$$ END OF YEAR BASED ON THEIR FILLS AND SALES...SO THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE...I picked up my prescription for 10ml testosterone. The pharmacist then tried to fill 10 1 ml vials instead of the 10 ml. Then told me it was $245. I told the tech that I want the prescription filled as written for 10ml and I wanted it in one vial. (I moved here and have been using this for years so I understand the dosing and the protocol). Tech tried to tell me that I needed a separate vial for each dose due to sterile issues. I then told her that she is incorrect as a new sterile needle and syringe is used each dose and the vial is sealed between. She lamely tried to say the pharmacist could is responsible...LMAOUM the script is written for me and you are trying to make more money from doing this. The cashier assured me that all of my items were bagged. When I unloaded the groceries, I realized that the eggs were NOT bagged. That is $4.99 plus TAX-plus plus 10 miles there and 10 miles back home. We are talking about the money I am owed, not to mention my time, by the way, is more precious than gold! If the cashiers weren't in such a hurry to hand a receipt and start ringing up the next person before you can get your wallet back in your pocket, then less of this would happen. Are they taught to work like speed robots? Are they paid on commission? Now I pay double and triple all because someone was in such a hurry that they made a CARELESS mistake. The bottom line is that they could CARE LESS. In addition, I also used my time to call the store, and no one answered. Another great use of that modern technology! I was referred to HEB deli from some friends who live in Lake Jackson (I am from out of town) for their tamales. I was told that as long as I give them 1 day notice they could take large orders on tamales and prepare them hot and fresh, not cold and prepackaged. One week ago, I placed an online order for 13.dozen tamales and in special instructions, I asked for them to be prepared hot and fresh. This morning, I received a notification that only part of my order could be filled as they were out of pork tamales. When I went to pick up my order they brought out 4 dozen tamales cold and.prepackaged, needing to be cooked. Since I was hosting an event for a large group of people, having to cook them set me back in prep and serving time. Additionally, when I reviewed my online order I found that they charged me for the tamales that they did not have prepared for me. When I contacted the store manager she did refund me for the cost of 2 packages of tamales but that doesn't help the inconvenience and the poor deli service in that they did not fulfill an order that was submitted and.paid for 1 week in advance and didnt notify me until the morning of my event which gave me no option for substitute other then cooking them myself. read more

Stopped at H‑E‑B to grab a few things while in town for a softball tournament. While we love H‑E‑B, this particular location wasn't my favorite. Maybe we came at the wrong time of day... this place was so packed and chaotic. Anywhere we'd go, we were either in someone's way or they were in our way. Felt very anxious and flustered while trying to get our few items. The saving grace which bumped the rating from an intended 3-star to a 4, was the gentleman who helped us. We were looking for a particular craft, non alcoholic beer (Athletic Brewing Co. - highly recommend by the way) and a worker noticed we were searching and showed us where it was in the cooler. He also directed us to where another flavor was located on the shelf. All in all, loved the customer service. read more

She was so fast and had everything loaded before I even put my handbag in my car. She was all smiles and a pleasant representative for HEB. Fresh produce, (almost always have plantains) yummy shrimp trays, typical/good prices. All the baskets are great, not squeeky or broken (unlike Kroger) Only downfall is their curvy twisting parking lot. Take note which lane you're parking because going down the wrong one will make for a long walk! read more

Here is the Avocado Spring Roll Edamame Seaweed Salad All super delish! Sometimes they have a vegan noodle salad as well. **Outside of the Sushi, you can grab a premade Kale Salad! This is so good and has became a great side dish to bring to work eatings or potlucks! So good! HEB has many many vegan options throughout the whole story: these are just a few ready to eat options. This evening I check out at HEB in Lake Jackson. The store as a whole is always great and most people are are so helpful! It was no exception tonight shopping throughout the store. Yet, when I went to check out the cashier and bagger I had were playing at the end of the register, and did not readily walk to check anyone out. I had all of my items sectioned off so that my cold items ended up together, my bread and chips, and boxed and cans and so on . The checker threw my chips off to his side while the bagger was throwing my items in the basket ( yes throwing). Didn't get a have a good evening, or have a good day ( which is usually not the norm) once getting to the truck one bagged had spilled, my bread was smashed with boxed items in a bag and my cold stuff was thrown in with completely different items. I hope that these to boys learn what the customer services standards at this HEB are if they continue to work there. read more

If I could give a negative star I would to this location specifically. I went to the deli and ordered from a EXTREMELY rude black lady. I asked for my black forest ham shaved and she rolled her eyes at me and made a comment under her breathe to other employees. When I received my "shaved" ham she threw it towards me and didn't even apologize or acknowledge it. I used to get exceptional service here about a year ago and ever since they have been terrible... I will be taking my business to kroger where the employees are actually nice and take care of you. They seem a lot more worried about their phones and other stuff then their job. read more

Clean store with fresh meats and veggies, because it is clearly a hipster favorite, i.e. sushi (which I will NEVER touch), but unable to find gluten flour for my bread (eye roll!). Saying all that I do not understand why the bathrooms do not measure up. Unfortunately no option exists to isolate the fuel/car wash. The car wash was poor; the vehicle is no cleaner than when I entered, simply wet and beaten by the brush scrubber. Undoubtedly the beating will have created scratches, and I'm pretty sure my mirror was at least rubbed if not damaged. They were both pushed into a folded position. Highly recommend skipping the car wash. You'll be hundreds of dollars in body work better off by going down the road dirty. read more

Yesterday, I went into the Lake Jackson H-E-B to pick up a few things. Approaching the checkout, I noticed a woman pushing a cart with her dog running alongside. This was not a service dog. There were about 10 items in her cart so she had been all over the store. I told the checkout clerk and they shrugged their shoulders. I reported it to a manager and he shrugged his shoulders. I like dogs. I like service dogs. I do not see any reason for people to bring their pets into a grocery store and the management not care. It is very unsanitary and if this is the policy of H-E-B to allow pets into the store, I am going to find another grocery store because I have no idea what has been peed upon by a pet. I can't trust the cleanliness of anything below the 3 foot mark. read more

Fantastic customer service, speedy checkouts. Items are mostly always in stock (except for meats on sale, sometimes those are like playing a game of "catch the delivery truck on time"). Now that they offer both curbside and delivery options, even people that hate shopping have a way to do it without the fuss. I have been using curbside for months when I know exactly what I need and it saves a lot of time. Be very specific on substitutions though, as well as how you like your produce. I recently tried their delivery and it was exceptional! The driver was exactly on time, the groceries bagged very well and just a great addition to their already excellent service. read more

The pharmacy is very poor when it comes to customer relations. We fill a birth control prescription every month at HEB with good RX because it's cheaper than with insurance. We do this without fail every time. Now they have a Pharmacist Ashley Williams there that won't honor the Good RX because as she says, "I'm just not gonna do it". The medication is listed on the Good RX list and is NOT on the list that the pharmacist can deny for personal or religious beliefs. When we ask to see this policy we're met with a Smug attitude and the comment, "If you want it cheaper you should get insurance". This is BEYOND rude not to mention non of her business. I've had insurance my whole life, Good RX is cheaper, I use it. This woman is a religious nut case gone wild, she acts superior like being a pharmacist is a big deal. Sorry you weren't good enough to have your own office and are stuck working at the grocery store? I don't know why you're taking it out on the public, let alone acting all high and mighty when you don't even make a lot of money...it's really strange. We no longer shop at HEB. read more

This is a review of beverage department. LJ finally emerges from the dark ages. HEB offers a decent wine selection. Although the prices could be better, at least we have palatable choices. They offer bubbles and vino from some of my favorite Northern Californian wineries. read more

I have been disappointed the last 2 times i have ordered cakes from the bakery- both times i ask for half white and half chocolate- they did not have any chocolate at all in the first cake- the second cake i picked up last week - was highly overpriced because i added a single 6 inch layer to the top- i was charged an extra 20.00 over what the normal 10 inch cake cost- this is with NO decorations and only having Happy Birthday written on the cake- that cake was also suppose to be 1/2 white and 1/2 chocolate of the 10 round cake- but the inky part chocolate was the single 6 inch layer on top that they charged me an additional 20 for- I will find another place to to order cakes from- the white cake texture-was also very holy and not if the quality of a bakery- the third layer that was 6 inches was nit supported and made the cake lopsided! Lake Jackson has really been growing in recent years but I was still shocked to find such an awesome grocery store there! This place is massive and the selection of products is staggering! They had a full deli, bakery, tortilla factory, and a nice selection of craft beers, much better than I've seen anywhere else in town. You can find upscale products here like at a Whole Foods or Central Market but the prices are still competitive with Target and Wal-Mart. I like their store brands too, I had some delicious hummus and their diet soda was pretty comparable to Coke. Great place, and I'm pretty jealous that I don't have one of these to shop at in Fort Worth! read more

I enjoy the cleanliness and layout of the new HEB in LJ especially with the friendly local employees. Much better feel that the busy Houston HEBs. The parking lot is quite cramped feeling and is a bit unsafe just by the layout. I made my stop for a beer run and got a recomendation from an employee. Not Your Fathers Root Beer is so great with a smooth root beer flavor. read more

Sort of a cross between an HEB and a Walmart. Big, but they don't carry a lot of name brand products (Breton crackers, for example). Deli house roast beef and other deli meats are mediocre at best. Beer selection is spotty. Worst of all, they don't carry any brand of Canadian Bacon & Pineapple pizza! Why, for God's sake? It's one of of the most popular pizza toppings around. But HEB never has it, even when they've just been stocked. I give up. I'll drive twice as far to go to the new Kroger. At least they carry a decent selection. HEB, you're dead to me. read more

I live in Braxoria and I shopped at the LJ store today, bought $200 of meat to stock my freezer but there produce department leaves a lot to be desired. I bought a container of the Black Grapes, opened them later and found they are full of some sort of mold or fungus. It isn't worth my time to drive back up to the store. So disappointed, all the more reason for me to just go to Kroger. read more

I started shopping at HEB in the 80's in San Antonio and Victoria. This store replaces the old store, located where a former Weingarten's was. I'm not a drunk or a lush; they have what seems like miles of cold beers and three rows of wines for those who can't make it to a liquor store. Hard to see how people living in LJ would have problems with selection here. There are occasions where I wish our larger store had the grocery selection of the huge ones in Houston, but I'm glad I don't have to go through all that acreage for just a few items. It's only in international and more esoteric choices that it could be better. Jeff, the manager here, Nathan, JT, Mary, Anna, and the other managers are all friendly and very helpful. I really like the way that they can check stock on their phones and direct me to exactly where the item(s) can be found. I switched from our crappy Walgreen's to HEB's pharmacy, with its fast service and courteous employees. Plus, it's right down the street from my home. read more
