There's not much in Surfside, but the Valero has most of what you need. For being almost the only game in town, the prices are decent too.

Great place to stop for gas, snacks and anything else you'll need at your beach house. I got bacon, OJ, yogurt and heavy cream. The items I forgot to pick up at H-E-B. read more

There aren't a lot of things close by Freeport so this Valero comes in very handy. It's open 24-hours and most of your basic necessities are available. read more

I am very impressed with this gas station. With all the people they get coming and going to the beach they have their rules and they stand their ground on them. The store is always clean even with half naked wet and sandy people. I've never came in and the place be dirty. The crew they have are so friendly, and all have great personalities. Glad they are our local gas station. The manager is obviously doing something right with how good and smooth everything runs. read more

If I could I WOULD give this Valero location Zero Stars! One word describes my experience at the store and that is simply RACIST! Easter weekend 2013 felt more like 1950s again during Jim Crow era when I decided to shop at Valero on Surfside Beach. I asked the cashier if I could use the restroom and her reply might as well have been, restrooms for "Coloreds" around back, when she suggested I use the port-a-potty facilities behind the building or drive a mile and a half down the road to a Buccee's for a clean restroom. The other costumers in line did not make the experience any better because the racial tension created such an intense awkward energy that I just left before I got lynched! read more
