I have eaten here a few times, they are right down the street. I only ever get the chicken tenders but the are the best chicken tenders I have ever had! The service is always quick, the food is always hot and out of the 9/10 times I have eaten here the food is consistent. My husband has had the fried chicken a few times and he agrees it's always consistently good food. The only negative I have is one time I got wings, the sauce was great, but I asked for extra crispy and wouldn't say they came the way I ordered. In Chicken baskets defense I showed up 5 min after I ordered and they may have been trying to get my food to me faster. I would give the wings another shot but, would stress the "Extra" part of extra crispy. If you like good chicken give them a try, best around in my opinion. read more

The food itself is a little different they give nice size portions of food and it will definitely fill your belly. It's very decently priced but the price you pay is the kind of food you will get. I love really simply good wings and they have them. They have welcoming staff and even when I ordered on a site they are consistent. And when they are not like they forgot my mild sauce they brought it to my house free of charge when I ordered online. Updated review: we ordered takeout this time and it was an entirely different experience. I ordered wings and my husband ordered chicken strips, both with fries. We also got fried mushrooms and jalapeño poppers to share. The temperature on everything was good, no cold food. The fried mushrooms and poppers were a little soggy, however. Flavors were on point, everything was delicious! All in all a solid experience. We'll definitely be getting takeout from Chicken Basket again (but, seriously, don't order delivery.) read more

Steak and cheese is terrible; barely had any meat in it all bread. Mozzarella sticks were over cooked all the cheese had been fried out of the stick so they were practically hollow. Fried mushrooms came soggy and mushy. No clue how this place has good ratings. read more

I spent a great deal of time ordering my food . The male employee had me under the impression that my address was within the delivery radius . He had asked for my address before I ordered and after .After asking for my address for the forth time , he told me that they cannot deliver to my address . Little hole in the wall joint that's far too easy to miss if you weren't looking for it,but a solid option to have around if your craving some homestyle fried chicken. Great crunch,great flavor and incredibly moist chicken served in giant portions. The meals are served with a giant serving of french fries, fresh crisp cold colslaw and a perfect little dinner roll. My days of mourning have ended. This location re-opened several months ago and I am sooo happy that someone from the founding family is running the Old Town location now. Been eating Chicken Basket (Wheaton) since the late 70's. The chicken here tastes like it did back then so I know that this location is using the same recipe. Unbelievably, this local hole in the wall serves the best steak and cheese sub I've ever had. Onion rings are also outstanding. Chicken tenders are good, but not great; they have a very thin coating and are a little on the bland side. Locals swear by the fried chicken meals, and they are excellent when compared to local options. However, anyone who's had legit quality fried chicken (like Gus's in Memphis) won't get the hype. read more

Chicken Basket is a prime example of how local restaurants should be, in terms of culinary art and a welcome environment with staff that want to be more that the person who cooks and serves you your food. Chicken Basket has been around for the longest time, and I believe it'll stay around, due to the fantastic food they serve you. I always order the 6 piece chicken dinner with fries, and some BBQ sauce, hot sauce, and some Old Bay seasoning on the side. The staff there is friendly and is always ready for your order. Awful. Ordered for my family of 5. 3 children and 2 adults. Well. 2 hours and 4 phone calls later between and store and the driver, they finally arrive with food that looked like it was 5 hours old. Seriously uneatable. The person at the actual restaurant said to tell the driver to call to see if we would receive any discount. Why would I be asking the driver to call him?? Really?!?! So we denied the food and ordered our children some reliable Chinese food at almost 9pm. Not happy. Although the driver was apologetic, he said he would be here in 10 mins and showed up 40 mins later on one of our many phone calls. The driver was polite at least. When you have small children it's hard to explain why it is taking so long. We have only ordered here 3 times since they opened. This will be the last for sure. Unless you pick it up, I would suggest finding another place to deliver your food. read more
