1/4 chicken with fries and sweet plantains, and passion fruit juice
Jeremy T.

I finally tried this Peruvian restaurant near work one weekday. My primary reason for not rushing to it is the initial price. Not exactly fast food pricing but I understand it's not fast food either. I ended up choosing one of the least expensive options on the menu, a 1/4 chicken with 2 sides....I picked French fries and sweet plantains (this side was $1 upcharge). I also added a passion fruit drink, one of their homemade fruit juices. I would have ordered the lunch special, but I wanted to try their homemade juice. The cashier didn't bring up the fact that I'd still save money by ordering the lunch special even with a 2nd drink, but oh well, next time. This was unfortunately another local restaurant that did not keep paper towels filled in the restroom, at least not on my initial visit to the men's restroom on my particular visit. My first impression when the food came out within a few mins was "Wow, this looks small for nearly $20." The chicken pieces were very small. The fries are standard frozen fries, the plantains are pretty good but some of the ends were chewy. The sauces were all good, but I used the green (medium) the most......and yellow (mild) the least. The juice was pretty good and I would order this again. They did redeem themselves because on a 2nd trip to the restroom to wash my hands, they had filled the paper towels. Overall, I liked the taste and I will definitely take advantage of the lunch special if returning during the lunch hour.

Great little find! I've driven in this shipping plaza a few times and hadn't walked into this place since the dark tinted windows kept me away. Once inside you understand the need for the dark windows. The sun exposure can be intense and without them it would make dinning in hot. The food and service is amazing! There's a good variety of food. I got a 1/4 chicken with black beans and rice. The chicken is fall off the bone soft and juicy! To drink I got the purple chicha which is a corn drink but don't worry it tastes nothing like corn. It's very good, fruity but not overly so and sweet. There's a stand in the back with sauces and utensils. Someone came by to check on us and after we left another person came to finish cleaning the area after we picked up after ourselves. This is a fantastic little gem that we'll definitely return to try the other menu items.

I went to try the lunch special and I think it was about $15-$16 for the lunch special which is a little pricey for me. I had a leg quarter and a side of rice and black beans. Everything was flavor pretty good. I'm almost a little too much seasoning for me, but it was OK.. I did run into an issue where there was still some blood in my chicken so I did let them know and they prepare me another piece and it was cooked well after that . I did not let that ruin my experience at all the sauces we're not as spicy as I would like them to be and we're a little salty. The chicken was piping hot. The rice piping hot, but the black beans were lukewarm. The soda was very strong. I love that. The question is will I go back probably not, but it was worth a try.

Delicious Food!!!! That's all I have to say, everything is so good. I've had this chicken a couple of times and both times it's been fresh and seasoned in every piece of the chicken, even the bone lol!!!! The spices they use are amazing. I've tried both white and dark meat here and while both are amazing, I think the white might is just a little tastier. I don't really have anything to compare it to because this is the only place i've tried Peruvian chicken from but trust me you will love it. You've got to get the green sauce to go with it as it's almost drinkable! I tried a few of the sides which were the black beans, fried rice(chaufa) and green beans. I really liked the flavor in both the rice and beans and it tasted really good together. The green beans also had a great wok-fired taste. I can say they might've over-seasoned my batch of green beans but the flavor was there. You don't have to have to worry about any bland food here!!! Overall, I'd definitely recommend and hope whoever's reading this gives it a try! :)

This food was AMAZING!! the Brasa burrito was so dam good. Their chicken was moist and flavorful. They have El Pollo Loco beat hands down! The chaufa rice is delicious!! Their sauces are great at least the 2 I tried (red and green) we will definitely be regulars here as long as they stay consistent. Only complaint, my wife said the balsamic dressing she got with her Greek salad was very salty.. not enough to take away from the 5 stars.O and there drinks are good also the hibiscus lemonade

Thank you to Brittany CM Yelp for recommending this Peruvian rotisserie chicken restaurant. We ordered their signature rotisserie chicken with 2 sides Yuka fries and white rice. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the food came out. Although this place is not fancy , the service was exceptional, and portions were large enough almost for 2 . The huge Yuka fries were so yum served hot .They had 3 Peruvian sauces to dip with.I personally love the green Verde sauce with a slight subtle kick . The chicken was cooked perfectly moist, and the rice was lightly salted. Perfection. Will be back.

We came here on a Saturday night looking to try something different. The food was good. I love fries and a fried egg so the combo for the A Lo Pobre Bowl was great. One downside was that despite being relatively empty it did take a while for our food. However the staff were really friendly and I would return to try something else on the menu.

This place is a gem. Peruvian food in general is delish and this place does it well. I love that they have Peruvian sodas and things like fried rice on the menu. I got the chicken sammie and it was so large I could barely finish it. The rotisserie chicken looked like the star! 10/10 recommended.

It was my first time going to Chick Houz, me my brother and nephew went and the food was very delicious, sauce on the burger was tasty and fries were fresh and perfectly seasoned. The wait time was around 10 minutes but they make everything fresh and staff was very friendly. The vibe was also very chill and it was an overall good environment to be around. 10/10 for me.

Chick Houz There was a party going on in Humble at Chick Houz, y'all! And now we know why! Met up with the gang and, boy, it didn't disappoint! They are the newly opened Peruvian restaurant right off Beltway 8. It's "walk up and order" style, with plenty of seating for even a large group, with some booths to the right. Clean and inviting with a very casual atmosphere. We started with the Churrasco sandwich that was filled with tender sautéed beef and onions in a savory gravy, provolone cheese, cilantro aioli, topped with onion crips, all on a fresh Kaiser bun. Yum! Next was the famous Rotisserie Chicken! It looked a lil pink but, have no fear, it was all the deliciousness of their charcoal smoking process. The meat was thoroughly cooked yet still tender. You could taste all of the (18) spices and the skin was crisped perfectly, sealing in the juices from marinating for 24 hours. The Yucca Fries put traditional fries to shame! Crispy on the outside, while tender on the inside, generously salted to bring out the unique flavors. Not oily/greasy at all. SO GOOD! Even for those that don't eat much fried food, they're a must have. The sweet plantains were caramelized yet still firm, just sweet enough to highlight the hearty plantain flavor. And, of course, we had to try the Chaufa, Peruvian fried rice which had diced meat and egg folded in, topped with green onions. Nice alternative to go with the chicken for your healthy side. We ended with the homemade Churros! Lightly fried and crunchy, covered in cinnamon sugar with a house made dulce sauce that was amazing! It also came with a chocolate sauce, all for dipping. (Didn't last long enough for a picture!) FYI... the yellow sauce is mild/flavorful, the green sauce is tasty/spicy, and the pink Serrano sauce will set your mouth a flame with flavor! Can't wait to go back and try the Mega Salchipapa, a South American staple maxed out with all the good stuff! I'll have to bring a friend as it's too much for one person! PS... I didn't get the Owner/Chef's names but just look for the sister's smiling faces! They also own Latin Bites here in Houston... have to check it out soon!

I guess the word is finally getting out that a new Peruvian Rotisserie player has entered the restaurant scene. The chickens are freshly roasted on the spits and prepared while you wait. Portions are decent, chicken is flavorful and the homemade drinks are strong. If you order the Hibiscus-Ginger Lemonade, I would recommend ordering a glass of water also to dilute the lemonade because it is strong.

When we arrived, First Watch looked pretty busy, but we were pleasantly surprised that we were seated right away. The hostess was very kind and welcoming, and our waiter was just as nice... cordial, helpful, and attentive throughout our visit. The service was definitely one of the highlights. For food, we both ordered the Trifecta. I chose the waffle with potatoes instead of eggs, along with their chicken sausage patty, and I added a side salad with mixed greens and a lemon herb dressing. I also added a side of chicken. Initially, I thought the chicken breast would be about $2.50, but before placing the order our waiter came back and clarified that it would be about $5 and would come as strips instead of a full chicken breast. I appreciated him coming back to correct that. When the chicken came out, it was sliced into very thin pieces and was a little lukewarm. I mentioned it to the waiter, and he apologized and handled it professionally by removing it from the bill, which I appreciated. Overall, the food was okay, about a 3.5 out of 5 for me. The waffle was tasty, just as I remembered, and the potatoes were good as well. However, the chicken sausage patty wasn't very good. I personally didn't enjoy it and ended up leaving it on the plate. My husband ordered the pancake with pecans, scrambled eggs, and a side of grits with butter, and he enjoyed his meal. One thing I did like was that you can now pay your bill directly from your phone, which makes it really convenient when you're ready to go without waiting. Overall, the big win here was the service and hospitality. The staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient, and we appreciated being seated quickly even when it seemed busy. The food was decent, though I've had better, but the service made the experience pleasant.

I had the salmon eggs benedict, as I always do... It did not taste good at all. The Salmon didn't taste like real fish. Tags were bland and the only thing I really liked were the fresh red onions. Bummer. Now, I always like to wash it down with a purple haze... Thankfully it was still really tasty. Maybe the cooks were tired. *Shrugs* Lol. They close at 2:30 and I came in at 2:00 The inside was pretty empty with only maybe four tables in use. It was relaxing atmosphere... so maybe if I go another day during peak hours, it will taste better. We shall see. I haven't given up on you yet!

I wouldn't say the beef was high quality, but it wasn't bad. However, it's difficult to give more than about a 3-4 star rating based on a few issues. The pizza had a light sauce. I understand this is a preference, but the restaurant does charge an extra $1 for more sauce. Similarly, if you want garlic butter on the crust it cost. Most pizza places will give extra sauce at no charge and several give garlic butter. Ingridients cost money, I get that, but it's difficult to recommend this restaurant considering all the addition upcharges that competitors don't have. Additionally, I ordered beef and ricotta cheese as toppings on the restaurant's website. When I got this pizza it had feta cheese on it instead of ricotta. This is disappointing because I very much prefer ricotta over feta cheese. I would have appreciated it if the restaurant called me and asked if feta is OK instead of trying to pass it off as ricotta. It's upsetting to receive something I did not order and have to pay for it. This might be even more upsetting if they tried to give sausage instead of beef, considering many people do not eat pork. For this reason I will probably go elsewhere in the future. However, as a fair reviewer, the food was good and I believe with all things considered, 3 stars is fair.
