Terrible experience from the moment we walked in. The host was incredibly rude and unwelcoming. No greeting, no smile -- just an annoyed look like we were bothering him by showing up. We asked how long the wait was, and he gave us a short, snappy answer with zero effort to be polite or helpful. When we finally got seated, it felt like they just threw menus at us and walked away. The whole vibe was off, and honestly, it put a damper on the entire meal. A host is supposed to set the tone, and in this case, the tone was cold, dismissive, and totally unprofessional. We ended up leaving before ordering. If that's how they treat customers at the door, I can only imagine what the rest of the service is like. First let me start by saying that I've been visiting La Villa off and on for over 15 years. I first began visiting the restaurant when I used to work in the Atascocita area around 2010, and I have loved this place ever since my first visit. Reviewing key points of the business below: Food: The food is 100% authentic Mexican food. This is not your typical Tex Mex restaurant. They serve authentic Mexican food that you could typically find in a homemade setting. Me growing up in a Hispanic household, I can certainly vouch for the authenticity here. I place a high emphasis on how their chips and salsa is made, and they have an awesome salsa to snack on prior to your meals. The rest of the food they serve is all very well done. Service: They have awesome service. I cannot attest to who the owner is now, but back when it was owned by a man named Carlos, he ensured that it was a family setting there. All customers were treated very well and made the setting feel very welcoming. To attest to how well the employees are treated there, they have the same employees they've had going as far back as 2014. So there's something to that. Drink Menu: During happy hour, they have a $3.99 House Margarita, and I can tell you they do not skimp on the liquor in the drink. Enough Said. Pricing: I think it's amazing how they have kept their prices fair even during all the recent inflation. I went back for the first time this past weekend and I was astounded that the pricing hadn't changed, since the last time I visited over 7 years ago. Kudos to keeping a friendly pricing menu to the public. Cleanliness: The place has recently (within past couple of years) gone through a remodel, and they have done well to keep the place maintained well. The booth we sat in had a bit of a wobble to it, but it didn't affect me or my kids with our outing. Wait Time: The food was ordered, and we received our meals within 5-10 minutes of ordering, and this was with 4 items being placed to order. It came out fresh and hot. The kitchen was quick and efficient in everything being ordered correctly, with certain substitutes being requested. Couldn't have been better. Overall, I can't say enough praise about the restaurant. The people, the food, the pricing, the menu, it's all amazing and I encourage anyone that lives in the area to try out La Villa. I am a very particular person when it comes to finding good authentic Mexican food in the area, and La Villa does not disappoint in the least bit. My wife was even surprised to find such a nice and delicious Mexican restaurant in the area. All three of my kids even enjoyed the place, so we are definitely returning to enjoy more authentic Mexican food at La Villa. read more

Also, whenever my wife and I are feeling a little down one of us will go pick up 2 orders of the chicken tortilla soup. La Villa has become our go to place after church with 5 to 8 people. We love their recent renovation with lots of windows making the interior nice and light. Waitstaff is quick and efficient. Ate there Friday night 09.06.24 and normally Salsa is great but it was so hot --extreme hot you could not eat ...I asked manager if they had any ---not so hot ? Stopped in for lunch at this cute Mexican restaurant. Our server was super sweet and took our order immediately. We ordered some drinks and we both enjoyed them. My husband is obsessed with Margaritas and beer so why not order a margarita with a beer? I got my go to drink the Mangonada which was delish! Read the reviews and was 50/50 initially. Place was pretty empty for a Taco Tuesday type night. Cold and just not warming on the inside, felt cheap. Salsa was watery and chips bland. Lemonade watered down from the machine. Ordered ground beef enchiladas and the big carrots cut in it seemed abnormal. I love Tex-Mex, by the way, but this place is not it. Hardly any flavoring/seasoning. It's hard to find a good spot in this area and what I read from the reviews, y'all must don't know any better. These Humble places are just mediocre. I'm from California, I've been here 5 months. I've been looking for a mexican restaurant that reminded me of that authentic California Mexican food flavor. This comes pretty darn close. Today was my first time trying them and I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant as well as the fast friendly service. We have eaten at this little Mexican cafe many many times over the last 7 years ! Have never been disappointed with their food or service! They're always consistent and they have the most affordable family packs of Fajitas or enchiladas! We've used them often for family gatherings etc. The family pack of fajitas for four will easily feed six because you get all the sides with it , Queso , Guacamole, beans , rice, shredded cheese , sour cream salsa and chips! First time at this restaurant. First time I've given a restaurant five stars. We had the La Villa appetizer and shared the Beef Ribs and a Chili Relleno plate. All three were amazing the flavors just kept coming surprising us. The Beef ribs were grilled and so good we both went thru 5 rather large pieces pretty quick. This was after a outstanding appetizer that we couldn't quit eating and picking at until the plate was empty. The Chili Relleno was covered in this great cooked cheese melted over a crusted Chili. The beef fajitas inside were a completely different taste than the beef ribs. The meat was exceptionally seasoned to perfection. It really was the best Mexican food I've eaten. The service was as good as the meal. My wife left a hefty tip and was planning our next visit while we ate the free ice cream cone in the car. Sooo Good!!! Be careful eating here order the Tex-Mex which come with the beef enchilada. The beef was uncooked did not taste good. The staff needs to know how to cook beef at the right temperature. Tex Mex is an obviously crowed field. I would put these folks just below the Pappacitas of the world. Nothing special about menu. Stand stuff: fajitas, enchiladas, beans, rice, etc. With the exception of the fried quail and beef riblets it's pretty standard stuff. However it's done well and served professionally.
