Winner, winner, chicken dinner!…read more Over the past few years, several new chicken restaurants have opened around Carlsbad, and I'm very grateful to Yelp for turning me on to this place. BHC Chicken is completely different from many of the others I've tried. Yes, they offer a variety of sauces and flavors, but what really impressed me was their classic fried chicken. I ordered the boneless thigh meal, and it was absolutely delectable. The batter was incredibly light, crispy, and crunchy without being overly hard or heavy, while the chicken inside remained tender and juicy. Best of all, it was thankfully NOT overly salty. The flavor was beautifully balanced and, quite simply, exquisite. I would recommend their fried chicken to any and every chicken aficionado. I also tried the spicy rosé stir-fried rice cakes, which were delicious. They had just the right amount of heat, enough to make them interesting and flavorful without leaving that lingering burn afterward. And then there were the sides! The potato wedges were perfection: nicely cooked outside and wonderfully moist and tender inside. The French fries were also really good. The Bburing cheese balls were DIVINE, delicately flavored, slightly addictive, and just ridiculously yummy. The apple coleslaw was fresh, crisp, and refreshing, and the Bburing chips were another winner. Even the complimentary pickled radish was excellent and paired beautifully with the fried chicken. There are certainly other nearby restaurants selling fried chicken, but for me, BHC Chicken is the clear winner. I am SO glad I discovered this place. Fantastic chicken, excellent sides, interesting Korean specialties, and flavors that don't have to rely on excessive salt to taste good. My new Carlsbad chicken champion!

The crunchy exterior was not overly done and it had a bit of gentle spice that kicks you on the back end. The pieces were generous and the box kept everything warm when I took the order to go. The ranch side was kind of basic. The server was friendly and explained the menu well.

I assumed the Surf Up Chicken moniker was another Korean fried chicken establishment so I wasn't sure if the bentos were a pop up item for lunch. I didn't have time to look at the menu before arriving so was hoping there was no line. I thought they were located in a mall or food hall but no, they're almost in an industrial area. There's a gelato and acai place next to them. There's one row of parking right in front. You order at the cashier and they give you a buzzer when food is ready. Endeavor said they also make their Beef Noodle soup from scratch. So duh and yes please - add it to the 3 bentos (2 fried pork bentos and 1 fried chicken bento). There's also a self serve soda station (with water and soda water). Plus, a sauce bar ! I think I waited for about 15 min? Their food packaging is LEGIT. The beef noodle soup had the coolest separation (noodles on top while the soup/beef is below without noodles touching the broth). The bentos were also wonderful packaged (I think i'd have them label next time). The beef noodle soup was YUMMY. Can i get an amen from all those BNS lovers who appreciate tender cuts of beef with some fattier pieces too. The broth was soooo savory and lightly rich (i know, is that even possible but the broth wasn't too heavy or greasy). The pickled veggies were BOMB - we tasted garlic which was loved by all. The pork bento was expertly fried and stayed crispy enough even 30min later. It was seasoned perfectly (five spice yeah?). The minced pork was underneath it and delicious (it had the consistency of ground pork). Again, the pickled sour veggies in the bento just worked so well with the dish. The fried chicken was generous and very good! Usually I find Taiwanese fried chicken to be dry but the version here was tender and soooo flavorful. I didn't realize they had a UTC location before it closed :( I would have 100% gone there but will now have to find a reason to make the longer trek here to get their bentos and beef noodle soup. I popped in for lunch and got their Crispy Chicken Bento which featured popcorn chicken, braised minced pork, sautéed cabbage, a soy-braised egg, pickled cucumbers, and mustard greens, all on a bed of steamed rice. It was so comforting and filling! Their portion sizes are really generous and everything is reasonably priced. Seriously, no notes. Will definitely be back to try more off their menu!

Hello YELPERS! My first review of this location (unfortunately) wasn't the best, so I'm pleased to write this new review! I hope I'm not too late to post this review as I wanted to comment about my experience at Chick-fil-A from last Monday. I had most positive experience with a young woman named Jordan in the drive-thru! In fact, I came home and taped my receipt on the fridge reminding myself to do this review! I'd like to begin this review addressing the very lovely JORDAN! What a sweetie pie! The smile on her face was enough to brighten my evening and her kind and welcoming demeanor was even better!! It is so nice to come across people that you know love their job because it shows in their quality of work. Jordan, if you're read this- you need to know that you are awesome! Keep up the good work! Now, on to the food... its awesome! I seem to always get the same thing, but it's just so good- I just can't seem to switch it up. I'm the classic person that orders the original chicken sandwich, fries and vanilla shake. And the BROWNIE! GOODNESS!!! The brownie is incredible! I wish they were bigger!!! If you guys come to this location- I hope you're lucky enough get Jordan to help you out. And get the brownie! Forget about the extra calories--- everyone deserves a treat now and again :) read more

Amazing, you would think a Franchisor would be concerned about how their brand is being portrayed and how customers are being treated. I wrote the "customer service" department of Chick-fil-A, after a whole lot of BS filler (such as "your satisfaction is our primary concern, blah blah blah..........") I finally get the line that since I didn't include the name of the store in my complaint, they can't do anything, because it is the responsibility of the store (franchisee) to take care of the problem. That's Corporate-ese for "fuck you". Funny how you just take a peek at the ADDRESS below the header of this review.....it's 3475 Marron Rd., Oceanside, CA 92056. Not sure how that doesn't identify the store????? Obviously the store owner doesn't read these Yelp reviews, or he/she does and doesn't give a shit.....which may very well be the case. But I'm surprised at Chick-fil-A corporate - they don't want to do anything to fix it, it has to be the particular store. Ever hear of FIXING IT and then charging back the store????? ITS WAY OVERPRICED!!! $12+ for fries and 4 small strips of chicken. We could all just go to a nice restaurant with good quality for for that price. I spend $12+ on a meal and I'm still hungry after. They try to say it's not "fast food" although everything is already cooked ahead of time and they are faster than McDonald's but somehow they aren't "fast food" they also say they make everything in house which is hard to believe because it doesn't taste like good quality ingredients in my experience. They should lower the prices or give people more of a restaurant experience for $12-$25 dollar meals (with a desert ) IM NOT SPENDING $12 on a fast food meal. IN N OUT IS WAYYYY CHEAPER & better quality. But for $12 I can go buy a nice chicken sandwich at an actual restaurant read more

I was vacationing in Oceanside and I got hungry so I stopped by here and I have to say by far, the best experience I've ever had in a fast food restaurant. When I had gotten to the restaurant, I took a few moments to decide my order and I didn't feel rushed at all. After I had ordered my food, the guy delivered my food very fast and I was bery satisfied with my Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich. Wow. Talk about efficient. Employees walk up to the cars in the drive through with their IPads at the ready. They take your order, swipe your credit card, and then you drive quickly to the pick up window and get your 'perfect' order. All this and they display the exceptionally polite Chik-fil-a attitude. The food wasn't that bad either ;-) I definitely shall return to this location. Highly recommended 5/5 star location. read more

When we explained this to the cashier, his response was very rude. He immediately said that any other employee would tell us to order through the kiosk, making it clear that he did not want to assist us. Although he eventually took our order, he was not welcoming, barely communicated with us, and his attitude made it feel like he did not care about taking our order correctly. The cleanliness of the location was also unacceptable. The tables were dirty, and no one came by to wipe them down. The trash cans were overflowing, and when my daughter needed to use the restroom, there was paper all over the floor. To make matters worse, the ice machine was not working, and customers were expected to get ice from a large bucket instead. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience. I hope management addresses the customer service, cleanliness, and maintenance issues because customers deserve a much better experience, especially because the problem isn't the food, it's the customer service and cleanliness.
