We love Chick-fil-A! Good place to grab a bite after the movies or some shopping. My family and I had finished playing some games at Dave & Buster's. We were in the mood for something simple where my kids will actually eat. They are very picky eaters so you can't go wrong with their kids meals. I had ordered the chicken nuggets meal which came with a generous size portion choice of sides. So we got the fruits and waffle fries also came with drinks. I've been back to this Chick-fil-A a few times since the unfathomably inconceivable visit where my order at the register was erroneously placed on the mobile pickup shelf, and I'm happy to report that I've always received better service since then, hence why I'm awarding back the third star. This Chick-fil-A is now closed for remodeling. I was informed by one of the cashiers it will be closed for the next six months. On their last day before the temporary closure, the operator of this location sent an email to all of his customers offering a treat on the house ranging from a sandwich to nuggets to even Chick-n-Strips! I've had my fair share of the Original Chicken Sandwich, but I was pleased that the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, normally $7.99, was an option! I hadn't had a Chick-fil-A Grilled Chicken Sandwich in a loooooooooooooong time, so I figured now would be the perfect time to try it! The slow service has persisted here, however, with my sandwich taking almost 5 minutes to receive, though since it's one of those rare times when I don't get an Original Chicken Sandwich, I can't really gauge if that's considered fast, slow, or somewhere in the middle. It wasn't that busy when I went, even though I thought it would have been if the reward was only valid for that day only. When paired with the Honey Roasted BBQ sauce, the grilled chicken sando made for a nice part of my dinner. Unlike the Original Chicken, the grilled chicken comes with lettuce and tomato, though on my sandwich, the tomato slices were hidden underneath the chicken that I almost thought they were omitted! Don't get me wrong, the Original Chicken Sandwich is still good, but after having so many of them lately, the grilled chicken was a real treat! They've since done away with the mobile pickup shelf by the front door. The pickup shelves for those kinds of orders are now in an employees only area. Hopefully, I won't have a future order erroneously placed on a shelf. Perhaps the remodeling will remedy that? Only time will tell I guess, but on an earlier visit to this location, I once got my sando literally two seconds after completing my transaction! Nevertheless, it has still been slow for the most part. I'll be looking forward to the day when the LBTC Chick-fil-A finally reopens and seeing what new stuff they'll have in store. An extra drive thru lane? An enhanced play place? Maybe more cows in the store reminding us to EAT MOR CHIKIN? In the meantime, if you're craving Chick-fil-A anytime during the remainder of the year, you will have to go to a different location. The closest one to here is in Cerritos just two exits up the 605 freeway. Wishing them much success in 2025! The primary reason I'm writing this review is because this location was closed for an extended period of time for renovations, but it's now re-opened! For a fast-food restaurant, Chick-fil-A is among the best. I really like their honey roasted BBQ sauce as it's delicious in their sandwiches. Their fries leave a little to be desired, but I feel that their meals and service have been consistent at this fast-food location. For me, a hidden gem would be coming to Chick-fil-A for breakfast, when you could have their famous chicken in a biscuit sandwich. There was two gentleman there looking like they're "getting ready for the day" at 6:31am I walked to the door , they looked if I was bothering them when I walked up the door. I normally take my granddaughter here coz the kids in the playground are about the same age as her (3 yo) or younger and they all get along and can play very well unlike the Buena Park location where older kids go in and play rowdy. This location is cleaner too. Service has changed tho. They hired quite a few high schoolers and are not so friendly. I would use my points to redeem some rewards for my granddaughter. On one occasion I requested to redeem my reward for an ice cream cone and will pick up the ice cream after eating our lunch. Our tray was delivered to our table with the ice cream in the cup. When I went to the counter I was told by the manager that if redeeming the ice cream using my rewards I have to come back and do another transaction otherwise, they will serve the ice cream at the time the order was placed. They've always served my ice cream after my granddaughter has eaten and played and have always shown them the receipt to claim it in the past and didn't have any issues. I think the new procedure the new manager is implementing is ridiculous and a waste of the customer's time! He didn't seem very friendly and approachable too...not good for the business! Also, they should place some kid's placemats by the high chairs for use. When I asked for a kid's placemat, the new employees at the counter didn't know what I was talking about and gave me a regular paper placemat they put on the trays. Had a pretty negative experience recently, and honestly since Chick-Fil-A has removed the special instructions option I have been going a lot less frequently. I asked for a sandwich with lettuce wrap instead of bun, and though I had a free sandwich, they were going to charge a nominal amount of change for substitutions, which isn't a big deal, but it's always frustrating considering all other locations normally do it without resistance. Totally understand policy, but it doesn't make much sense considering the cost differential is none as opposed to a technicality. If anything it does incentivize just coming in and asking them to change it after you order it which just creates more work for everyone else.
