I made the tactical error of visiting Rosy Tomorrow's for a work meeting…read more Not because the meeting was bad, but because this place clearly deserves a version of me who is off the clock, has nowhere else to be, and is prepared to make several questionable menu decisions. The atmosphere is fantastic. The people, energy, truly one of a kind décor, and wonderfully unconventional menu all make the experience feel like much more than lunch. The staff was amazing, the food was very good, and the portions were generous. One wrap at our table looked like it may have missed a growth spurt, but everything else arrived ready to feed actual adults. One important logistical note: If you are especially well hydrated, choose your seat strategically. The restroom is on the bottom floor, and getting there may qualify as the day's cardio. I left with two strong conclusions: First, I really like this place. Second, conducting a work meeting here was like going to an amusement park to discuss spreadsheets. I cannot wait to return in a more appropriately fun frame of mind and work my way through everything I wanted to order but couldn't reasonably explain on an expense report. Consider this the preliminary review. The full investigation will require another visit, several friends, and absolutely no agenda.

And the entire staff snobbily checked me out while laughing. They then took 10 minutes to give me the meal while people behind me drove out of the lane.

ORIGIN: Chomp Chomp opened in Fall 2024. It is the first…read moreand only Chomp Chomp. LOCATION: Chomp Chomp is located in the middle of the Danbury Fair Mall food court. ATMOSPHERE: Since Chomp Chomp is located in a mall food court, the atmosphere is as expected -- lots of background noises, scents, and activity. In a nutshell, not a relaxing place to gather and dine. CONCEPT: Chomp Chomp is fast food, but offers a curiously diverse list of dishes such as pastrami sandwiches, rice bowls, pork belly bao, and Oklahoma-style burgers. Likewise, Chomp Chomp offers a diverse range of beverages to complement your chosen dish, including mango milkshake, Coke, and creamsicle float. FOOD: So much is offered on the menu, but I've been enamored by the Oklahoma-style burger and have yet to explore the menu. As I understand this century-old regional burger preparation method, beef is smashed on a grill, seasoned, topped with thin slices of onions, which in turn are covered with cheese. Steam from the onions permeates the cheese as it melts. The result is a super moist burger in which flavors of each component are married, rather than contrasted. SERVICE: Each time I've visited the person working the counter was enthusiastic about the new business and eager to offer guidance. TIP: For a few dollars more you can get fries and a drink. For a single burger this ends up being around cost of McDonald's ($12), but the quality, service, and flavor is far better at Chomp Chomp. The Oklahoma burger is available as single or double. I found that the flavor was more pronounced in the double version. Toppings are customizable. For example, you can add lettuce and tomato on a burger, or add meat or sauces to fries. (That said, I prefer to stick to the original Oklahoma burger version in order to experience the regional burger in its original form.)

They run a lean operation....sometimes just one person manning the grill so you order through a big tablet up front. I usually have chicken when I visit Chomp Chomp and it's always juicy and hot. They have a Chomp Chomp sauce that I really like, it's especially good with fries. Additionally, the brioche buns they use are very high quality. This is a good alternative if you're tired of the other places in the food court.

I didn't want much food, so I ordered a kids meal. Since the line was very long, I decided to order on the app. I got 2 chicken strips, waffle fries, a water bottle, and an ice cream cone with two sauces for about $9. I thought my order went through after paying, so I sat back and watched others get their orders. After about 8-10 minutes, I found it strange my food still wasn't out, so checked back into the app and it was waiting for me to add a table number. However, the table I was at did not have one, so I had to go to the counter and wait until someone was available to help me. The food eventually arrived on the order out shelves, but my water was missing so I had to wait a little more but they did bring it out to me. The chicken strips were decently sized, about 2.5- 3 inches long. There were about 6-7 whole waffles fries. The ice cream cone had more of the flavor and consistency of a Wendy's frosty instead of McDonald's soft serve (I prefer McDonald's soft serve). There is a play area meant for kids 10 years old and under with adults supervision. The bathrooms were clean.

They text you once your order is ready as well, but the timing could definitely be worked on I think. I got my text before my order was ready to be handed off, so I was loitering around the pickup counter anyway when no one was there and even when someone did come, they had to go to the back to grab my food. The text was definitely misleading. They didn't have any ketchup at their stations either and it didn't look like anyone cared when I told them about it. They just proceeded to get me some ketchup packets and that was pretty much it. They didn't seem too busy in the back as many workers were standing around not doing much, but perhaps there's more to the story than what I saw. Overall, the experience was mediocre I'd say with decent food. I enjoyed my burger and my fries, the latter being super crispy which I enjoyed. The service and upkeep of various stations could've been better, but overall for fast food, I'd say it was a decent meal and experience.
