I thought hard about this review because the manager did allow me to escape paying for crap food…read more. but I just have to say it: this food is great for children of any age because it is flavorless and lackluster. And my experience was the staff was off putting to say the very least. - Looking at this as glass half full: even though our salsa came with the waiter's finger in it, my fish tacos were pale.. and see through.. my waiters attitude sucked and yes so did the food. But I can recognize good real estate and music when I see it. - Readers: I'd suggest you come here to read books in the evening as the patio receives a lot of sun and the umbrellas and music do make the place feel nice; but I warn you to bring your own beverages. Blondie served my girl a soda with an open can and was mind-numbingly oblivious to how many things he snuck his filthy fingers into before serving us. And oh yeah, he definitely didn't make an excuse for this mistake and double down on it before asking if he should get another one!. .. But it's not enough to make up for my waiter passive aggressively dropping a me a salsa cup on the table after my only ask of him was a water cup. He tossed the 4 oz paper bowl on the table like I was a dog. This was in response to my protest to his suggesting that I pay for food I explicitly told him I did not enjoy and could not eat. (For real, I gave the salsa and chips back to him as soon as we got the chance. He was a real degenerate with a bolstering angry visage because "he was tired". Go put a tampon in mate, and serve with a smile like the girls. This one should be avoided. P.S. this is not the first review where the server has thumbed the salsa during the delivery. Absolutely disgusting I am so glad I did not eat here.

I was there on 08/25/24 @ 5pm after a very long day. The two "ladies" working should be released…read moreof their duties. I am certain they did something to my sandwich that made me ill. They were rude and they laughed as they handed me my subs. Giving each other looks as I ordered. I had to say hello after her approach was "what do you want". There is something very wrong with these two people! That restaurant is always empty and I have zero doubts these two are part of the reason why. Shame on you! i missed a day of work and celebrating my son's 13th birthday, because you intentionally made me sick! Avoid eating here!!

I'm always down for getting a sub. Recently every time after the gym on the radio I always hear…read moreabout firehouse's new sub the pub steak sub. The service at firehouse was good like usual, what I particular like about fire house subs is that they donate money to fire houses and they give you a pickle with your sandwich. I got the large pub steak sub because I was feeling mighty hungry that evening. When I got it I drove home to devour this sandwich. The sandwich looked really good, lots of meat, cheese and crunch from the crispy onions. However the taste was not as good as the appearance. The first bite was nice and cheesy and so was the second and third. Then I realized all I could really taste was the cheese, and the bread. The crispy onions got soggy and lost in the cheese sauce. As for the meat, there was not too much taste to it. Overall, fire house sub is generally really good. Get any of their regular sandwiches and you would be pretty content for going there. However for their new special pub steak sub I was not a fan. I would definitely go back and get my usual sandwich which is the hook & ladder or their Italian.

I went here at 8:40pm- which was less than an hour to their closing time. It was bright, clean,…read morespacious, and not busy at all! We were seated immediately and helped to some menus (love the menu sooooo much)! The TV was playing White Chicks and later played Madea's Big Happy Family. Very nice selection. We got our orders taken quickly and it didn't take long for the food to come out! I got the Fish and Chips with Garlic Parmesan Fries! Both items were so nice and crispy! But be aware that the garlic Parmesan is actually a sauce and not like Garlic powder and Parmesan cheese- so it's more of a wet (but still crispy) fry. The Ginger & Mint Tea was also very yummy and refreshing- barely tasted the tea and almost tasted fizzy but nevertheless very refreshing to wash everything down. Just overall such good food and good vibes! Will be coming again and again!

***3 1/2 stars***…read more This was kind of all over the place, and a prescient reminder that sometimes you get what you pay for. My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality (down the street!) and I stopped here for a much-needed recharge after she led a comprehensive campus tour in 90-degree heat. There weren't a ton of eating options - graduation was apparently last week, and the offseason for the campus town has officially commenced - but this one looked fairly decent for what it was. The menu was also intriguing, with both sushi and Mediterranean-style cuisine. In my experience, jamming a bunch of random types of food onto a menu can be very hit or miss, but I wouldn't say that was really an issue here. We both had sticker shock or lack thereof when we looked at the cocktail menu. Margaritas are about $6, and "top shelf" ones are $8? Incredible stuff. I went with the top shelf frozen berries margaritas, and specifically requested Don Julio. That said - and maybe this is a reflection of my having a more adult palate than the college student target demo, or maybe I'm just officially a degenerate at this point - it wasn't a strong marg at all, and both of us ended up getting extra shots of Don Julio to make it taste better. So the additional tequila brought the total marg prices to $10, which is still incredible in my opinion, given what we're dealing with in the NYC metro area. Since we were on a pretty naughty vacation, I tried to tread water a bit and went with the salmon teriyaki bowl (about $20 I think). Honestly really hit the spot. The salmon was fresh/flavorful, and as you can see from the attached, a ridiculously generous portion. I wasn't in the mood for the accompanying side salad (again, I was on vacation), but the rice and salmon were a distant memory quickly enough. I was also kind of obsessed with the plate that it came on - I'm not really sure how to describe it other than that it looked like dishware you'd find in the Flintstones' house. It sort of looked like a sculpture of a piece of bent tree bark? I know, I'm not giving this justice. We also split the bang bang shrimp app, which was very good as well - maybe a TOUCH over-fried, but I think that's part of the package with the naughty appetizer section of a menu. Would get both of those items again in a heartbeat. The service was honestly pretty mediocre, and a big reason this ultimately was just an okay experience. A shame, given that we both legitimately liked the food. Our waiter was definitely confused by my chum's drink order (which, to be fair, WAS a little off the beaten path - she requested one of their non-alcoholic mango lychee lemonade, plus a separate shot of Don Julio), and our drinks ultimately showed up at the same time as our food. He also came back to our table after about 15 minutes to reconfirm her drink order. Not great, and a reminder that there's no harm in bringing a pen and a pad with you to the table. This wasn't terrible by any means, but was an uneven experience. Frankly, I think expectations should be a little tempered in a college town, where the average diner is probably in their early 20s and pretty low maintenance when it comes to their food and drink preferences. But if they figured out the service here, they'd really have something.
