Not sure if he was a mgr, owner or both, but he was super kind & highly professional. Randy discussed our last delivery order. He provided us with a tuna sub at no cost. Randy's sandwich looks & smells terrific. That's literally all it took to win us back. He apologized for the sub-par experience we had & made it right. THANK U to CAPROTTI'S & to him. Absolutely delicious subs, folks! *note: I never went to the site this business prompted me to go to so, no double dipping here. I'm always willing to pay a fair price for anything & double-dipping equals 'theft' in my book. Thx again CAPRIOTTI's AND to the gentleman that handled our order in-person today! So to start with, understand our order was placed directly by calling Caprrioti's. We did not order on DoorDash, though DoorDash did deliver. That said, we ordered a Philly cheesesteak w/extra cheese & a tuna. Tuna because I'd had some dental work & it would be easier to eat. The order arrived with a cheesesteak w/no cheese & NO tuna for me! So we called the restaurant back to complain. The response was incredulous!! Some dizzy twit told us they didn't have tuna that day. AND she only makes $8 an hour!! ZERO sandwich & ZERO refund! Their business seems to operate by selling things they simply don't have to serve & yes I'm still furious. If they didn't have tuna that day-why did they sell me tuna?!? Thievery is a pathetic business plan. BUY AT UR OWN RISK. *Note this FACT. A customer that received poor service tells 10 people. A customer that receives great service tells 3 people. That's changed with Yelp.

While on DoorDash the other night I felt like having a sandwich, so I looked under the Sandwiches category and McAlister Deli came up. This called to mind one time they had in their menu one of the most delicious sandwiches that I have ever had at a deli: The Cuban Sandwich 12". It had tangy Pulled Pork, Black Forest Ham, and Swiss Cheese with Yellow Mustard and Pickles served on a Toasted Baguette. It was so good that every time I ordered out, I kept on ordering this sandwich at McAlister Deli. Then all of a sudden one day when I went to their website at DoorDash I noticed it was missing from the menu there. I contacted the restaurant manager to inquire as to why it was missing. She agreed with me that this was one of their most delicious sandwiches, but told me that sometimes Corporate changes the menu and removes some items, and that in the future they can also bring it back. So I thanked her for her feedback and told her to look at her records and see all the times that I had purchased this sandwich from their Deli, since actions speak louder than words. I then contacted their corporate office to inquire as well and they gave me the same answer. So I had to resign myself to be without that sandwich anymore and stay just with the memories of how good it had tasted when I was fortunate enough to have tried it. Tonight, when I was looking for sandwich places to order a sandwich delivered. I said to myself (since I'm a person of high Hope), let me look at the McAlister Deli site and see if by any chance (although many of times I had repeated this action with no results) they had brought it back. After all, in this Holiday Season anything is possible for those who believe. And you wouldn't guess what happened next. Right there, in their menu, was my favorite sandwich, that I had wished for for so long. Needless to say, I went and ordered it right away through DoorDash without even thinking to go to their website and ordering it from there like I used to. As I waited, I thought of how some things in life are priceless, without being expensive. And how maybe a simple request from one person can make a big difference in an important decision as if to bring it back. But for whatever reason it was back, and once again, McAlister Deli's became one of my favorites restaurants because of this. I followed the progression of the DoorDasher through their app until "headed your way." Then very soon the doorbell rang and the DoorDasher delivered my sandwich, which arrived well-wrapped and in perfect condition. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the quality of McAlister food. Needless to say that when I've eaten at their restaurant they have had friendly and welcoming employees who have provided me with excellent customer service, in a clean and cozy environment. The Cuban Sandwich 12" was amazingly delicious, just like always. The combination of all of its fresh ingredients and the baguette made it delicious. The only thing missing was that it wasn't toasted. As you all know, part of the secret of a successful Cuban Sandwich is this. Which involves using a sandwich press or a heavy skillet to compress and grill the sandwich until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted. It's a distinctive step that gives the sandwich its signature crust and is essential to what makes it a true Cuban sandwich. I truly hope that when the management of the restaurant reads this review, they take steps to see that this doesn't happen again. And knowing them, I'm sure it won't. Because this is the attention to detail that makes the big difference.

We have so many known Sub shops around. All selling similar types of subs. Yet when I first saw…read morethe name Chicho's Subs, I first thought they were just another of those. But after I thought: "Let me find out," and approached their sub Shop, what I found ended being above and beyond the highest of my expectations. Chicho's Subs is located in the Historic Roanoke City Market Building in Downtown Roanoke, Virginia, together with 8 other local restaurants. Most of which are set-up as Malls Food Courts, where you order, pay, and pickup your food at their window counter, and then you go to the tables and chairs dining area located in the middle of them all to have a seat and enjoy your meal. When I approached the enlarged poster of their menu, I was attracted to the amazing, creative selection of food items, many named after local attractions such as: "The Star," "Greenway Chicken," and "The Roanoker," to name a few. If this wasn't enough the menu had a section titled "Peruvian Burgers and More," with appetizing items such as "El Monstruo," "Pan con Pollo," "Royal Hamburger," and their original "Salchipapas." For those who like to eat light they also have a Salad selection, as well as a Wings selection. Their three Lunch Special are very convenient for lunchtime. They include chips & a drink. For those who like Cold Beers, especially during a hot Summer day, they also have a nice selection of beers, and even a few wines, which are displayed behind a glass wall on the counter. It didn't take long for the owner of this small but amazing local business to approach me from behind the counter and give me a warm welcome. After I found out he was Peruvian, and by the way I love Peruvian Cuisine, I began speaking to him in Spanish and enjoyed our conversation of his restaurant and all the other services they provided such as Catering, Ordering To Go over the phone for easy pick-up, and Door Dash, among others. He also explained more in detail some of their most popular items in the menu, highlighting their Freshness and Made to Order. To go big, I ordered #15 on the menu: "El Monstruo," translated to "The Monster." It was a Special Sandwich prepared in a fresh hamburger bun and contained an American Wagyu patty, tomato, lettuce, cheddar cheese, fried egg, hot dog, bacon, potato sticks, with the works (mayo, ketchup, mustard, tartar sauce, and home made hot sauce). I invite the readers of this review to view my accompanying photographs and video clips of this Sandwich, to appreciate it even better. To drink I reached in their Softdrink refrigerator and got a bottle of Lemonade. I paid with my credit card on a modern machine that a tip was optional but I gladly left one because of the amazing dining experience I've been having, even before eating my food. Afterwards, I went to find a table close by and sat down to wait for my sandwich to be ready. They called me to the counter when it was ready and the first thing I did before picking it up was to take photographs and video clips of it, since the light there was perfect for this, and for your enjoyment. The Sandwich was so amazingly delicious and big that I almost couldn't open my mouth to be able to eat it and some of the ingredients inside ended up spilling onto the paper inside the round tray where it came in. In conclusion I highly recommend this restaurant to all those reading this review no matter where you're from. You will experience for yourself that sometimes it doesn't take a fancy restaurant to enjoy an extraordinary dining experience.

After being awarded the NC Triad Yelp Squad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, celebrating their contributions and accomplishments throughout the year, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and businesses, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Bellacino's Pizza & Grinders, in Roanoke, Virginia, is a perfect example. When I saw a sign for this Italian Restaurant, there was something in me that told me I had to stop to try it. I arrived around 6:00 pm for dinner, as the gray clouds started to form. But even before I walked in, I ran into a customer walking out carrying his box of pizza and looking so happy and satisfied. So much so that I told him who I was and asked permission to take a photograph to include in my review, and he gladly obliged. Then I looked at all the signs they had on the windows and proceeded to walk in the restaurant. It had a comfortable feeling to it and you could tell that almost all the customers there were repeat customers. I saw a menu on the wall and began to study it. When it was my turn to order at the counter a very friendly and kind young lady greated me and took my order. I ordered an 8 inch Bellacino's Pride Pizza as my main entrée. It contained pepperoni, ham, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, onion, black olives & mozzarella cheese. To drink they had Pepsi products so I had a regular Pepsi with free refills. As I waited I saw that all their employees worked closely together in teamwork. When my food was ready one of their employees brought it out to my table. That was a welcome gesture since in many pizza places you have to get up and get it. The Pizza was 8 inches, just the right size for one person. In most places they don't have this size. It looked wonderful and tasted amazingly delicious. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the quality of the food. It tasted so good. From flavor and texture of it dough to the freshness and flavor of its ingredients, and the quality of its sauce and mozzarella cheese. In conclusion, I highly recommend this Pizza Place. For its relaxing ambiance, amazingly food, and excellent customer service, exceeding my highest expectations and providing an extraordinary dining experience.
