Takeout Dinner in Honolulu, Hawaii... Located across from the Convention Center, across the street from Sura, is a food truck called Chicano Street Tacos. Service was efficient, but my sister had to remind the guy about my horchata. He wasn't sure if he even had enough and didn't really say that it was available. He charged us for it, so we had to follow up on it. It was quite good! Even though there was a table and chairs along the sidewalk, we took our food home because it was a blustery, chilly evening with many cars passing by. I ordered three tacos: shrimp (I was reassured that it wasn't spicy), birria (turned out to be spicy), and pork. The shrimp was a bit overdone, but had a nice smokey essence. I took one bite of birria and couldn't take another bite. Ouch! The pork was okay. All of the tacos had generous amounts of chopped sweet onion and fresh parsley. I'm glad that I had a chance to try this food truck!

Amazing tasty tacos!! The chicken street tacos are my fav here , what I love most about this place is not only the customer service since the guys who work in the truck are always friendly to talk too but also that they aren't skimpy with the portions they give! They really load the tacos up so if you ask me they are worth the price given so that's a plus in my book! I try to stop here whenever I'm in the area by chance given i live in town and it never disappoints especially people like me who need to satisfy their 1am taco cravings lol. 10000/10

Love street tacos... I'm not gonna comment on any authenticity but do know what I like and really wanted to try these cute street tacos so you know I was excited to see Chicano Street Tacos truck parked right beside Rockza and yes where do you park...I dashed from a parking next door when I saw that they were open and was excited to give them a try. I believe it's standard for the tacos to be sold individually and here it's $5 each ($6 for shrimp) which I think is a bit steep but let's give them a chance. Carnitas, Chicken and Carne Asada is what I got along with a Jarritos. I'm horribly sorry I just can't describe which is which though yes each are very different I just really wish that they list what comes with each tacos cause I have no idea and one of them had some heat which I loved but know some besties that have sensitive palate. The service is nice and the tacos was yummy though running in and spending $19 to be served on a paper plate was a bit rough and rather than taking it home decided to sit on the table provided right along Kapiolani Blvd. Thank you!

Chula known by many has been creating tacos for over 7 years she makes flavorful tacos including special touches to it that just make the person feel special. Adding the right amount out of everything makes me honestly say i'm always honored when she's working knowing i'll get the best quality. everyone can make a good taco but she makes great ones! Always got me hooked and tbh i fell in love with tacos ever since she made me my first real taco. Chicanos street tacos definitely changed alot when she was put in the mix. i can't find her as much there anymore i wonder when she goin come back cause the tacos are missing that touch.

These mediocre tacos ARE NOT, I REPEAT ARE NOT!!! authentic Mexican street tacos!! The worker seemed defeated like he was tired to the point he could not fold the burrito right. It fell all over the plate as soon as my partner ate it. The tacos were dry and that back there wasn't real carne asada I don't even know what the heck that was dollar tree meat????? The tortillas were dry barely any onion to cilantro; it was bad. They served us canned beans!! Not even real refried beans. And an old rice that wasn't even close, but I guess the name of the restaurant speaks for itself so that's fair. Only thing that saved it were the sauces. The mango habanero and red salsa were tasty and had a heat kick to it

Loved the tacos!! NorCal girl living in Hawaii craving some LA style tacos! It's call Chicano!!! They better represent! LOL. Sorry for the late post, I went there Wednesday night the day before July 4th. I ordered the Carnitas and the Cane Asada. Yummy!! I would come back for sure. The only problem is parking to pick up tacos. I came by myself to pick up tacos so looking for parking is challenging. No one want to walk at in the area alone. With friends it's ok but alone, not so much. They didn't have any Horchata. So that means I have to return, just to try more food. Next time the shrimp ceviche! I will have to remember to ask for hot sauce. Even without hot sauce the tacos were delicious.

I was able to park at rockza for a little bit to pick up my order. There was a man that came out and patrolled the parking lot because obviously I didn't look like a patron of rockza when I pulled into the driveway. I asked him if I could park here to purchase tacos and he said yes and walked to the other cars in the lot. Their food stall is actually on the front of the street where the sidewalk is next to catfish corner. There are two tables near the street if you choose to eat there. Their grand opening special had $3 tacos on 3/29. I picked up 2 tacos each that they had that was listed on their menu (shrimp, pork, and steak). They also have several fruit drinks and horchata available. When I arrived - there was just one couple before me in line. Shortly after a few others came. Probably since it was around dinner time. There was some miscommunication along the way but that was eventually resolved, so thank you for trying to fix the issues on the back end.

I eat here fairly often as it's close to my work I love talking to the employees! They are always helpful and have great tacos unlike anywhere else on island if you close by stop for a snack and a show from Teddy at rockza!

I didn't have a issue with my food till I got 3 tacos and I was charged for 4 and I also got two drinks a Horchata and a watermelon and they were about 6 ounces about $30 for all of them. I can definitely say I'm not coming back. I came just for the pastor cause it's only Saturdays only and they were completely sold out at 1pm. I couldn't even get any side dishes, like rice or beans. When I finally got my tacos, it was not what you would expected. It was the meat on the bottom and then the tacos on top of the meat. I did not enjoy my food.

Second time back and they had no salsa, no lime, no agua fresca, no jarritos and barely any meat on the tacos. Nothing fell off. When asking the lady she had nonchalant responses. Pretty disappointed

No to be messed up but probably one of the worst tacos I've ever had. Me and my group of friends all got some and there was like no meat on the tacos. Looks like he split one taco into 4. The meat was also cold . We Very disappointed based on the other reviews saying it was good. We laughed it off after pretty much saying how we got scammed lol. Cool little truck though. Fuck lol.

This was the owners response to me leaving an honest review

Went here for a late night bite. Pricey bland tacos. No flavor and they're super tiny. So disappointed. No parking around the area, FYI.

It was simple, comforting, and absolutely delicious. My son, who's from California and very serious about his Mexican food, said it was the best bean and cheese burrito he's ever had--which is definitely saying something! The portions are generous, so you definitely get your money's worth, and the spicy sauce has the perfect kick with amazing flavor that takes everything to the next level. If you're craving satisfying, authentic-tasting Mexican food, this place is a must. We'll definitely be back!

The crew inside was welcoming, quick, and the meat was on point. They even came outside to check on us. My son is a picky little dude and started picking onions off his chicken quesadilla. I told him to speak up. The guy smiled, said he had it, and brought out a fresh one with no onions. My son crushed it and even used their mild salsa, which is wild because he thinks everything is spicy. My burrito had great flavor and the asada was legit. I even called home for extra orders so everyone could try it. They loved it too. This spot isn't in our usual area, but I'm glad we found it because it's hard to find solid burritos in Hawaii.

Mexican sounded good to everyone so we picked this spot and we're all very happy we did. Our server was kind and attentive. The place was lovely and decorated with just the amount of fun you expect. Some great photo ops in there. He even told us they were having a mariachi band tomorrow and invited us to come back. The food from the start with nachos and salsa to the end with tres leches was all delicious. I ordered the chorizo queso and it was fantastic. My son ordered the guacamole and it was so fresh and limey. Also delicious. My grandkids shared a quesadilla which was definitely large enough to do so with. My oldest grandson ordered a torte and he loved it. Also a generous portion. My son and I both ordered the grande burrito. He got his wet and I didn't. His was served on a plate and mine came wrapped in foil in a basket. I wish it would have also come on a plate. I like to cut it up to eat and the foil made that difficult to do. We ordered the tres leches to go because we were all so full. Enjoyed it the next day. Three of us could share on piece. It's delicious but very rich.

It took a while to order and to get her attention throughout our time there, but we eventually received everything we ordered. The birria was very tasty, with juicy meat and a crispy shell. The Margarita flights were small, mini tastings which left us wanting more (and yes, we did order more). Regarding the tres leches, it's not the greatest we've ever had but not the worst.
