Staff is friendly, office is clean (bonus: nice decor), and both the hygienist and doctor were kind. They called my insurance in advance to verify coverage so I was all set the day of the appointment. Another bonus was that they referred me to an oral surgeon (impacted wisdom tooth) that was happy to take the x-ray I already had with another dentist and just schedule one appointment for the surgery (other surgeons wanted to schedule 2 appts $$$). My only tiny suggestion would be to put the office hours on the website. I tried calling a couple times initially and later found out they open at 10 am during the week. I was calling between 9 and 10 am.

Visit Date: Mar 14 2019…read more Not sure if they changed the signage on the windows yet but when I visited here it said there was a multitude of specialists in a tiny building along with a dental office. Luckily when I went inside they reassured me that the building is just a dental office. It's getting too hard to find dental offices that offer nitrous or anesthesia services so I choose to go to the hospital dental clinic. (This one does not offer either) Getting a cleaning & exam at the hospital clinic is headachy because of the waiting list so to expedite things and make it easier on the hospital I went to this office for my cleaning and exam. Waiting Room: The front desk clerks are nice and easy to work with, there is a television in the waiting room that seems unnecessary and distracting. I don't want to see the news anymore and every doctors office I go to has the bloody news turned on the TV. Thankfully the TV was muted at least. The seating in the waiting room is average. The windows do not have any shading or tint so if it's really bright outside expect a lot of glare on screens and don't sit near the window if you want to use your cell phone. So the waiting room is basically an average waiting room, nothing special there aside from the staff. X-Ray Area: Down a long hall are several rooms in which there are dental procedure chairs. The first room is an X-Ray room and they have a newer digital panoramic system that is very nice. The machine produces great X-Ray images and I know this because I have had many X-Rays done of my teeth and of other appendages as necessary. Let's just say I know a good X-Ray machine and image when I see it. Procedure Room: From the X-Ray room you are taken to one of the many procedure rooms which are well appointed. There's a radio playing some soft music and they have newer dental equipment, they use ultrasonic cleaning here instead of manual cleaning which I found to be somewhat more tolerable than a manual cleaning using a rotary head. Procedure Staff: Even with my complex disabilities the staff were very accommodating of my needs and willing to pause the cleaning process multiple times and stand clear when a spasm was about to break through. Though I definitely jostled the instrument tray a few times. The staff didn't mind and that was quite reassuring to me that they are able to and willing to handle a person with severe spasticity. (Now you see why I have to go to the hospital for any type of procedure involving drilling, the instrument tray would probably go flying across the room and stuff would get broken!) Post Procedure: The checkout process is easy and they carefully explain everything that has to be done orally and provide a printed treatment plan as well. This is great in case you are like me and need to go to a hospital dental clinic but don't want to wait for a cleaning and exam on the waitlist. Now that I have a printed treatment plan I can go straight onto the procedure waitlist instead of having to deal with two waitlists. (Ironically I had to go for a pre-procedure examination at the hospital but thankfully they didn't have to do a cleaning, because cleanings can be hit or miss as far as how my spasticity is) So why am I giving four stars if the service was so good? Because, they're a dental office but their signage on the exterior of the building is misleading. Fix the signage and it turns into a five star review. UPDATE: 9/11/19 I visited the office again after my pre-procedure examination at the hospital because my treatment plan needed to be faxed over to the hospital. The front desk staff were extremely nice and handled my request quickly. I didn't pay any attention to the signage out front but it looked like it still wasn't updated.

The entire staff is excellent; they are smiling and greeting the patients most of the time. Dr. Shaikh is very humble and a down to earth doctor. She was on time, explained her full range of services, and all potential costs before proceeding with any procedures. Moreover, Dr. Shaikh takes X-Rays after each procedure to confirm her work. You know I love this conformational technique because I want to make sure everything is cleaned and fixed before she seals out my tooth. NOTE all the EXTRA X-Rays she asked for were not on my bill. It is the most helpful clinic in this area. They helped me a lot with my insurance issues and it worked out. They build a good rapport with their patients, and I am highly satisfied with the service. Definitely, I am going back to this clinic.

My family and I have been patients here for several years. We are all leaving this practice…read moreimmediately. Here are my reasons. First at my last cleaning the hygienist didn't know how to turn on the lights or cleaning equipment. She rushed through what I'd saw was the most slipshod cleaning I've had in my entire 62 years of being alive and didn't even floss my teeth. When I left my review someone reached out to me and said she was on an interview. Well, I don't run a dental practice, but if I did I'd show them how to turn on the equipment before she went to work AND I'd have the interviewee clean a staff or family member's teeth and ask them for feedback. Instead this woman did a bad job and no one asked me for feedback. Kind of makes me wonder if I'm getting an honest answer from the practice. Second, on a Saturday morning I was eating granola and felt a crack followed by some pretty severe pain. I was glad Dr Perna was able to squeeze me in. He saw me, looked around and said he didn't see anything and come back if it continued to be a problem. Now, I haven't been to Dental School, but there are two HUGE things he didn't do. 1. He didn't even touch the tooth! Yep, you got that right. Didn't even touch the tooth to see if it may be broken below the gum line. 2. He didn't take an x-ray! Seriously, if the patient tells you he felt a "Crack" and is in pain even I know you take an x-ray to see if the problem could be below the gum line! Oh, and you get to bill for that too so you'd make more money! I got a second opinion 2 days later, the tooth was touched, x-rays were taken and the tooth was broken below the gum line exactly as I suspected. It's since been extracted and I've had an implant inserted. I'll be getting the tooth on the post in a few months. From my new dentist. These both demonstrate complete incompetence by this practice.

I was SO nervous to have a tooth bonded. Dr. Kouris is an ARTIST. She took her time and explained everything thoroughly. I felt so comfortable. I knew I was in good hands. She was excited to create a work of art. I'm afraid to say too much good in this review because it'll be hard to get an appt. But, seriously - she is soooo incredible. A unicorn in the industry. My tooth looks better than it has in 20 years. She didn't just say - 'ok you're done.' She asked numerous times....'how does it feel? Do you like it? Is anything bothering you?' And when I was walking out she said - 'if anything feels odd just come back in and I'll touch it up for free. I stand by my work.' I'm so impressed with this office and Dr. Kouris. Everything is high-tech. All the latest technology and tools. My only sadness is that I didn't find them years ago. But, I have them now. Thank goodness! I can't stop smiling.
