I just fished my dental appt - and I am walking on air & singing out loud. Dr. Aimee Lynn Kouris is a miracle worker. She is extremely kind and patient. I was SO nervous to have a tooth bonded. Dr. Kouris is an ARTIST. She took her time and explained everything thoroughly. I felt so comfortable. I knew I was in good hands. She was excited to create a work of art. I'm afraid to say too much good in this review because it'll be hard to get an appt. But, seriously - she is soooo incredible. A unicorn in the industry. My tooth looks better than it has in 20 years. She didn't just say - 'ok you're done.' She asked numerous times....'how does it feel? Do you like it? Is anything bothering you?' And when I was walking out she said - 'if anything feels odd just come back in and I'll touch it up for free. I stand by my work.' I'm so impressed with this office and Dr. Kouris. Everything is high-tech. All the latest technology and tools. My only sadness is that I didn't find them years ago. But, I have them now. Thank goodness! I can't stop smiling. read more

Dr. Kouris is an absolute master of her craft. I have chipped my front two teeth many times over the years playing sports and have been to a number of dentists...my experience at Ponzio was the best so far. I had some awful stains that had gotten into the cracks between the original enamel and the composite from my last visit to the dentist and haven't shown my teeth in pictures for about 10 years (I've lost count)... Aimee did such a good job replacing them that I'm actually grateful I chipped my tooth. They look a hundred times better now than they did before. Everyone was so friendly and compassionate. When we called to ask if they "take Aetna" they responded yes, however we have learned that to them that just means that they will bill through our insurance not that they are in-network. Apparently, they recently left the Aetna network. Care itself was fine. Billing was a surprise. read more

We are a new family with Ponzio Dental, switching after our old dentist in Elmhurst retired. A family friend recommended Ponzio to us are we are so happy with our care. The kids are still off at college, but so far my husband has been seen by Dr. Aimee Kourus and I was just evaluated and treated this week by Dr. Jamil Olomi. Both dentists were fantastic! The office is super clean, with strict Covid safety measures in place. All staff members were kind and patient. Our appointments started exactly on time. My dentist was assisted by LaTasha, who did my X-rays and helped document, so the dentist didn't need to touch the computer while working on me. Dr. Olomi did a very thorough evaluation, and even did my cleaning, which was cool. I'll return soon for a few fillings. We are really happy that we found this practice! read more

Six months to get an appointment. Ridiculous. Hire more people. In addition, while I haven't personally had this experience, friends have had Ponzio call day of, cancel the appointment due to lack of staff, and offer to reschedule six months out. Terrible business practices. read more

I don't typically write reviews, but Dr. Kouris at Ponzio Dental is amazing. After years of not going to the dentist because of crippling fear, I took a chance on Ponzio and found Dr. Kouris. I was worried about being shamed after putting off visits for so long. She was totally non-judgmental and reassuring and didn't push for any unnecessary work. She has made me look forward to visits instead of fearing them. I'm writing this after getting my first crown. I had a last-minute panic attack when I showed up at my appointment and she took the time to reassure me and explain everything that was about to happen. From my very first visit to Ponzio, WOW I was blown away by the service. I admittedly have anxiety about the dentist (so their website, wewelcomecowards.com appealed to me) and hadn't had a cleaning in over a year, but between Alicia (the hygienist) and Dr. Katie Benka (the dentist), I NEVER felt like I was being judged for slacking or like I was being admonished. Alicia was amazing. She told me exactly what she was going to be doing next before she did it (so there were no surprises) and she was so patient and kind. She got my teeth sparkly clean and the 30 minutes of scraping and cringing I was so used to? NOPE. NONE OF IT. IT WAS AWESOME. Add to that the Fixer Upper on HGTV on the TV in the room and I was set. Katie came in afterward to take a look at my X-rays and my teeth and did something no dentist has EVER done before. She felt along the glands of my jaw and throat, felt along my gums for any bumps or irregularities. WHY HAVE NONE OF MY DENTISTS DONE THIS BEFORE? Things like oral cancer and abscesses are so awful, so taking that extra step was so appreciated. I have been going to Ponzio Dental for the past 4 years and service from the front desk to the dentistry to the billing has always been consistently excellent - everyone that I interact with is kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. What drove me to write this review is my recent experience with Dr. Katie Benka and her team. Considering that my mother's native language is not English and that there were complications with her specific situation, they cared for my mother in the most attentive and sensitive manner. Dr. Benka explained our options in a way that is easy to understand and addressed all of our questions and concerns. I was there to support my mother and to translate and while I was there, my baby needed to nurse and I had to take a work call. Dr. Benka went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed and that I was comfortable, offering me a private space to do both. In that moment, I felt that (1) she was caring for more than just the patient and looking out for the patient's family as well and (2) she saw us as fellow humans, not just patients. I've personally interacted with most of the dentists in this practice - Dr. Benka, Dr. Kouris, and Dr. Ponzio - and they are all very capable and experienced professionals. What sets this practice apart from the other good practices out there is their kindness and humanity - I hope that they'll stay in the Oak Park community for many more years! read more

THE BEST DENTAL OFFICE/DENTIST! I arrived at the office, called in and was brought to a room right away. I needed a filling replaced in my tooth after a root canal (which was a good experience). Based on the amazing yelp reviews of this place (and my insurance coverage), I decided to give Ponzio Dental a call. They were able to schedule me a week later, and working with the front desk was quick and simple! As these are special times, they took the necessary precautions to measure my temperature upon arrival and every staff member was wearing a mask! The facility itself is pristine as they have recently undergone some renovations! Dr. Kouris was my dentist, and I cannot say enough praise for her! Not only is she very knowledgable, but she is extremely kind and personable as well. I never felt like she was rushing to get to the next patient, and she carefully worked to identify the reason for my tooth pain. I recently moved from my old neighborhood to Naperville and was extremely surprised that Dr Ponzio has an office in Warrenville, which is about 5 minutes from my home. We had an appointment on the day before Christmas eve. Due to an accident on the Reagan we were about 15 minutes late to our appointment. We called ahead of time to advise of such. When we got there the receptionist was a bit snippy and said I would probably have to reschedule. Dr. Ponzio came and visited me personally and said he would try to squeeze me in. I was able to be seen for my routine cleaning and my experience at the Warrenville location was almost as positive as the experience in Elmwood Park. My first appointment was amazing. Due to the pandemic I had not seen a dentist since moving to Chicago last December.
