I just fished my dental appt - and I am walking on air & singing out loud. Dr. Aimee Lynn Kouris is a miracle worker. She is extremely kind and patient. I was SO nervous to have a tooth bonded. Dr. Kouris is an ARTIST. She took her time and explained everything thoroughly. I felt so comfortable. I knew I was in good hands. She was excited to create a work of art. I'm afraid to say too much good in this review because it'll be hard to get an appt. But, seriously - she is soooo incredible. A unicorn in the industry. My tooth looks better than it has in 20 years. She didn't just say - 'ok you're done.' She asked numerous times....'how does it feel? Do you like it? Is anything bothering you?' And when I was walking out she said - 'if anything feels odd just come back in and I'll touch it up for free. I stand by my work.' I'm so impressed with this office and Dr. Kouris. Everything is high-tech. All the latest technology and tools. My only sadness is that I didn't find them years ago. But, I have them now. Thank goodness! I can't stop smiling. read more

I have been to many dentist and no other dentist has made me feel as relaxed and as comfortable as this place has. The staff and Dr ponzio really know how to take care of people. I'm beyond thankful for the amazing work they all do. read more

I highly recommend Ponzio Dental. I've been using this practice for about 4 years and I couldn't be happier. I primarily see Dr. Benka, who is so kind, compassionate, communicative, and gentle. I've also seen Dr. Ponzio and Dr. Kouris, both of whom are also wonderful. They provide excellent quality care and they are genuinely good humans! read more

Dr. Kouris is an absolute master of her craft. I have chipped my front two teeth many times over the years playing sports and have been to a number of dentists...my experience at Ponzio was the best so far. I had some awful stains that had gotten into the cracks between the original enamel and the composite from my last visit to the dentist and haven't shown my teeth in pictures for about 10 years (I've lost count)... Aimee did such a good job replacing them that I'm actually grateful I chipped my tooth. They look a hundred times better now than they did before. Everyone was so friendly and compassionate. Wonderful people...you can always tell with anything medical when they actually care. I'm so grateful I found you guys You have a heart of gold Aimee!! read more

When we called to ask if they "take Aetna" they responded yes, however we have learned that to them that just means that they will bill through our insurance not that they are in-network. Apparently, they recently left the Aetna network. Care itself was fine. Billing was a surprise. read more

We are a new family with Ponzio Dental, switching after our old dentist in Elmhurst retired. A family friend recommended Ponzio to us are we are so happy with our care. The kids are still off at college, but so far my husband has been seen by Dr. Aimee Kourus and I was just evaluated and treated this week by Dr. Jamil Olomi. Both dentists were fantastic! The office is super clean, with strict Covid safety measures in place. All staff members were kind and patient. Our appointments started exactly on time. My dentist was assisted by LaTasha, who did my X-rays and helped document, so the dentist didn't need to touch the computer while working on me. Dr. Olomi did a very thorough evaluation, and even did my cleaning, which was cool. I'll return soon for a few fillings. We are really happy that we found this practice! read more

Excellent service for all ages and me at dental needs. They're booked out for months because they are also wonderful people.

Six months to get an appointment. Ridiculous. Hire more people. In addition, while I haven't personally had this experience, friends have had Ponzio call day of, cancel the appointment due to lack of staff, and offer to reschedule six months out. Terrible business practices. read more

Amazing staff, willing to listen to your concerns and take time to explain what professionally they recommend and what you as a patient are comfortable with. I cannot recommend Ponzio Dental more! read more

I don't typically write reviews, but Dr. Kouris at Ponzio Dental is amazing. After years of not going to the dentist because of crippling fear, I took a chance on Ponzio and found Dr. Kouris. I was worried about being shamed after putting off visits for so long. She was totally non-judgmental and reassuring and didn't push for any unnecessary work. She has made me look forward to visits instead of fearing them. I'm writing this after getting my first crown. I had a last-minute panic attack when I showed up at my appointment and she took the time to reassure me and explain everything that was about to happen. While I may still have anxiety on future visits, I completely trust that she has my back and that is huge. read more

Love all the dentist here! I have terrible teeth and have a lot of dental anxiety from past experiences, I see Dr. Benka and cannot recommend her enough. I've seen all of the dentist here and they are great but she is my go to. They are modest with their approach and won't do unnecessary work, front staff is so friendly too. read more

From my very first visit to Ponzio, WOW I was blown away by the service. I admittedly have anxiety about the dentist (so their website, wewelcomecowards.com appealed to me) and hadn't had a cleaning in over a year, but between Alicia (the hygienist) and Dr. Katie Benka (the dentist), I NEVER felt like I was being judged for slacking or like I was being admonished. Alicia was amazing. She told me exactly what she was going to be doing next before she did it (so there were no surprises) and she was so patient and kind. She got my teeth sparkly clean and the 30 minutes of scraping and cringing I was so used to? NOPE. NONE OF IT. IT WAS AWESOME. Add to that the Fixer Upper on HGTV on the TV in the room and I was set. Katie came in afterward to take a look at my X-rays and my teeth and did something no dentist has EVER done before. She felt along the glands of my jaw and throat, felt along my gums for any bumps or irregularities. WHY HAVE NONE OF MY DENTISTS DONE THIS BEFORE? Things like oral cancer and abscesses are so awful, so taking that extra step was so appreciated. I've since had many follow-up appointments and had some fillings replaced and they continue to be wonderful. I'm so happy to have found them! read more

This place is AMAZING. I have always been terrified of the dentist. After experiencing some problems with bleeding and swollen gums I came on yelp and seen all the review of Ponzio Dental. I decided to make an appointment and face my fear. Dr Aimee Kouris is everything and so much more you want in a Dentist. She is kind, profesional, full of positive energy and funny. She put all my worries aside. Explained everything in detail. Gave me a chance to ask questions and was so reassuring that everything will be OK. I have a long road ahead, but I couldn't ask to have anyone else on my team. She has a hand like a feather. You don't feel any pain either. BONUS. Kelly her assistant is also amazing. This place is THEE PLACE. Give them a try you won't be disappointed. read more

Dr. Ponzio's dad was my first dentist when I was a kid. The family tradition of great dental work and being absolutely friendly and helpful to their patients lives on. Dr. Ponzio and his entire staff are very knowledgeable and look for solutions that are efficient and cost effective. The team is also great with helping patients Understand what treatment is needed and what the options are. I'm a lifer. Really great team. read more

I chipped a tooth on a Sunday night and made a request for an appointment online. Ponzio called Monday morning and scheduled me to come in right away (I live really close to the office). It took only 45 mins door-to-door to fix my front tooth and the results were amazing -- it's impossible to tell which tooth was chipped. Thank you for helping me fix my smile so quickly! read more

Ponzio Dental - All fixed! - Cosmetic Dentists Near Me - Oak Park, Illinois

I have been going to Ponzio Dental for the past 4 years and service from the front desk to the dentistry to the billing has always been consistently excellent - everyone that I interact with is kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. What drove me to write this review is my recent experience with Dr. Katie Benka and her team. Considering that my mother's native language is not English and that there were complications with her specific situation, they cared for my mother in the most attentive and sensitive manner. Dr. Benka explained our options in a way that is easy to understand and addressed all of our questions and concerns. I was there to support my mother and to translate and while I was there, my baby needed to nurse and I had to take a work call. Dr. Benka went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed and that I was comfortable, offering me a private space to do both. In that moment, I felt that (1) she was caring for more than just the patient and looking out for the patient's family as well and (2) she saw us as fellow humans, not just patients. I've personally interacted with most of the dentists in this practice - Dr. Benka, Dr. Kouris, and Dr. Ponzio - and they are all very capable and experienced professionals. What sets this practice apart from the other good practices out there is their kindness and humanity - I hope that they'll stay in the Oak Park community for many more years! read more

THE BEST DENTAL OFFICE/DENTIST! I arrived at the office, called in and was brought to a room right away. I needed a filling replaced in my tooth after a root canal (which was a good experience). Dr Ponzio cleaned out the tooth, put the filling in (no pain) and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes! I must admit, I don't like going to the dentist but I do love Dr Ponzio!!! read more

I've been going to Ponzio Dental for about four years and have only ever had positive experiences, both pre- and post-COVID. The staff is always friendly, and they almost always have me in and out. Truly, they seem to have perfected the way they schedule appointments. And from my experiences, each dental hygienist does a really thorough job when cleaning teeth. They have great customer and dental service, and I trust them with my dental care. read more

Dr Anthony Ponzio...Amazing bedside manners... I have dental anxiety and this is definitely the place to come if you too suffer form this terrible feeling. I went to see Dr Ponzi for a chipped tooth and he made my experience a good one. He was gentle concerned and accommodating. I could not have been in better hands. Since I have scheduled 2 dental cleanings and today I had my second with Alicia which is amazing. His front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. They provide you with with a family feeling. I cannot say enough on how happy I am to have found them. Their continued great client service for especially people like me who has dental anxiety is top notch. I contacted the office for last minute pain in my tooth after learning my current (now former) dentist couldn't fit me in for an emergency. I loved Ponzio Dental, have been a patient for a while, however, I won't be coming back. Unfortunately had to cancel an upcoming appointment and they aren't able to reschedule me for 7 months out. Can't afford to wait 7 months to make a new appointment. read more

Went for a first visit and regular cleaning last month. My husband and daughter loved it as well. Office staff was very warm and polite. Had another appointment today for some work that needed to be done. Dr.Benka was awesome. She was gentle and patient. I was not sore even after numbness wore off. Highly recommend Ponzio Dental and Dr. Benka!! read more

I'm sad to say that Dr. Benka is leaving the practice. I got the news that she's going to become a Dental School Professor. She will definitely be missed. The other dentists are still in the office (Brundage and Wise), so I'll continue to be a client. Thanks to all the other Yelpers I went to Dr. Benka too~ and she's as terrific as advertised. She's kind, thorough, polite, and made my smile better. Her hygenist did a great job on my cleaning. I'll be back to them for sure! Thank you Yelp! read more

Best dentist experience I've ever had. Great for kids too. Highly recommend. Especially for crowns

This North Ave, in Oak Park practice is the finest in knowledge, certainly the latest in hardware, as behooves a teaching dentist. What a fabulous place in every aspect. Replacement or new crown generated on the premises and finalized in less than 1-1/2 hour. The equipment here is mindboggling. Courtesy? Fine staff ? It's all there. read more

After moving to the area, we asked around for dentist recommendations. Dr. Benka's name came up on more than one occasion. Talk about a thorough exam! She was very good at explaining what she was doing every step of the way, and answering any questions that came up during my visit. Her staff are also very professional and attentive. I like that I can get early in the day appointments. Her office has some great technology that makes exams and going over results instant. read more

Best Dentist I have ever gone to and I will never go anywhere else! Patient, smart as hell, friendly, amazing and friendly staff, and NO PAIN, even after an extracted crown and post that was installed by another dentist years ago. And if you have an appointment, you don't wait 45 minutes to be seen like everywhere else! Truly the best of the best! read more

I recently moved from my old neighborhood to Naperville and was extremely surprised that Dr Ponzio has an office in Warrenville, which is about 5 minutes from my home. We had an appointment on the day before Christmas eve. Due to an accident on the Reagan we were about 15 minutes late to our appointment. We called ahead of time to advise of such. When we got there the receptionist was a bit snippy and said I would probably have to reschedule. Dr. Ponzio came and visited me personally and said he would try to squeeze me in. I was able to be seen for my routine cleaning and my experience at the Warrenville location was almost as positive as the experience in Elmwood Park. It would have been as pleasant, had it not been for the attitude at the front desk. read more

Since moving to the chicago area, I never established care with a dentist until I started having some tooth pain a few weeks ago. Based on the amazing yelp reviews of this place (and my insurance coverage), I decided to give Ponzio Dental a call. They were able to schedule me a week later, and working with the front desk was quick and simple! As these are special times, they took the necessary precautions to measure my temperature upon arrival and every staff member was wearing a mask! The facility itself is pristine as they have recently undergone some renovations! Dr. Kouris was my dentist, and I cannot say enough praise for her! Not only is she very knowledgable, but she is extremely kind and personable as well. I never felt like she was rushing to get to the next patient, and she carefully worked to identify the reason for my tooth pain. In addition to the excellent care from Dr. Kouris, I was also blown away by how hospitable everyone in the entire office was! I've never met such happy friendly staff at a dentist office before, and their friendliness and positivity put me in a very good mood for the rest of the day! I highly recommend checking Ponzio Dental out! read more

Phenomenal experience. Incredible staffing, they respect your time and always run on schedule. The office is beautiful, run efficiently and I felt completely safe despite the current pandemic. Excellent experience at Ponzio dental today! My husband and I recently moved to Oak Park and were looking for a new dentist. We had heard great things about this practice and it was right around the corner from our house! From scheduling the appointment to the check in process, everything went smoothly (not always a given during these COVID times) and we were in and out on time. Shout out to Mitzy for a gentle but thorough cleaning. Dr. Ponzio was great at explaining everything. Highly recommend! read more

My first appointment was amazing. Due to the pandemic I had not seen a dentist since moving to Chicago last December. The office's general attitude of kindness and Covid related precautions were were outstanding. As a 72 year-old my teeth and gums are very sensitive. It was an absolutely painless experience to the point of my being surprised that the examination and cleaning were complete. I am returning later in December to deal with a problem Dr. Ponzio discovered. Although the solution may include a root canal, my childhood dental phobia can be laid to rest. Jim Stringer read more

Dr. Benka is incredible. Thorough, friendly and most of all educational. Answers questions and makes genuine conversation with you throughout the exam. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Ponzio. I was a little unsure because when I had my first appointment, he looked as if he was about 17 years old... caught me off guard! but he does great work. He makes you feel comfortable and lets you know what he needs to do, how it's going to be done, and when he's going to do it. I have never had to wait more than a minute or two and they always work with me to get me in when I have the time. I'm very happy I starting coming to this practice read more
