I made an appointment 6/2023 after a glowing recommendation from my sister. 1st Appointment 6/28/2023 - Xrays, light consultation, etc. 2nd Appointment 10/9/2023 - Consultation, cleaning. cancelled 2nd Appointment 11/06/2023 Deep cleaning, light consultation - Called to reschedule appointment and was charged $60 cancellation fee because I called inside of 48 hours. no problem since I agreed to pay it at the initial visit to them. 3rd Appointment 3/13/2024 - Cleaning, consultation (at this point I'm wondering of any real work will be done after this many visits.) 4th Appointment 4/4/2024 - 2 hours to repair 5 teeth which I have never done before. I'm 66 years old and take meds (water pill)for HBP, so that wasn't fun. I was embarrassed and kept apologizing for the inconvenience. I got up from the chair about 5 times within 2 hours. The Doctor and his assistant were understanding but the time it took was too many teeth for one visit. I felt miserable. The local anesthesia administration was painless. The chair was inverted and my feet were higher than my head which made for a very uncomfortable visit to say the least. The kindness of the staff is on point, but after this visit It took me several hours to recover. 5th Appointment (2024) - Which was going to be a 1 hour visit and because of my Spinal Stenosis which flared up after cutting the grass, I decided to reschedule. I was then told via test message that basically I have breached the cancellation policy and to find another dentist. The exact message is shown below: "We need 48 hour notice." "We have inactivated you from our office please look for another dentist. We only allow 3 cancelled appt." As a side note, I was told that the reason for the cancellation fee is because the Dentist in only in the office once a week. Wow!! It makes me wonder why so many visits were done before any real work was done. All and all, not a bad experience, just not a great fit for me. I guess I'll have to find an office that wont invert me in the chair and not charge me so much for cancellations. read more

A number of years ago (before covid) I had a tooth removed at an oral surgeon's office and asked for a referral to a dentist and they gave me "A Brilliant Smile". The staff was friendly, as well as informative before, during and after the treatment. Eventually I need to have major dental work (teeth removed), He (the Doctor) discussed the causes and gave me options to choose from. I chose dentures, from removal of the teeth to the beginning of the process of creating the dentures took a number of weeks. He explained to me that it would take time for the gums to heal so waiting for the best results was key. What I'd already discovered about him is he is meticulous and committed to the best possible results in the work he does, and I want the best fit for function and appearance. All that to say that I am quite pleased that he delivered as promised!! I did loose 18lbs during the waiting period, in all truth...I needed to lose those pounds! read more

This place is chaotic. The moment I walked in, everyone was shouting at each other--what forms does she need to complete, do you need anything else?, is she here for this or this?-- I can imagine that someone would dental anxiety would find this very alarming. Not exactly a quiet, calm environment from the beginning. Mind you, I had completed forms online ahead of time. Not exactly the best to the visit, and definitely not a calm environment. Below is an email I just sent to their office summarizing my visit. They're disorganized; seems only in it for the money. -- Hello, I will admit, I'm very frustrated with my service with A Brilliant Smile. Before I made my appointment yesterday, I called ahead and asked if your practice offered an appliance that "realigned your bite" in hopes of treatment for TMJ. I told the receptionist that normal mouth guards do not work. When I went for my appointment, I was given a full mouth X-Ray. After the X-Ray, I was shown a video about generic mouth guards-- not the kind that I had called about. When I told this to the hygienist, she called in the doctor, who told me that the phrase "realigned my bite" was generic. You could tell by his pause that he was concerned that I was ill-advised. If your practice offers mouth guards that realign your bite in treatment for TMJ, then I'd like to know, as that's what I came for, and was told you don't offer it. I told the doctor that I felt my visit was wasted, and that if I had been advised properly of the services offered, I wouldn't have come. The doctor said it wasn't wasted, and I would need a referral to a TMJ specialist. He said no specialist would take me without a referral. (Calling clinics myself proves this to be false). Now, you're telling me that I *don't* in fact need a referral. I called yesterday and asked for an option that was covered in my insurance-- why would the doctor send me somewhere that isn't accepted by insurance? Who can afford $6K out of pocket?- and I was told I would receive a call back within 20 minutes with options. Now, you are telling me to just do it myself. Please cancel my cleaning as well-- I want nothing further to do with your office. read more

Dr. Raihle and the entire staff are top-notch--me, my wife and daughter and both of my in-laws go to A Brilliant Smile as our dentist office. I have never experienced such a comfortable atmosphere at a dentist, nor have I experienced such gentle and pain free treatments. I look forward to going to the dentist every 6 months because of these guys. I have been going to this location for the past 27 years. Even when I went to college and moved downtown I have always come back here every 6 months for my cleaning because they really do treat you like family. The staff is always wanting to know what's going on in my life, and they remember from visit to visit. Dr. Raihle has notes in my file from stuff I did in high school. Elizabeth always says hi when I walk in and wants to know how my family is. Icee is always full of nice compliments. Every time I leave the office here I feel like a million bucks, not just hygienically but mentally as well. Five stars, highly recommended! read more

Putting yourself in the hands of Dr. Raihle means you will receive only the best dental care. Should you require any additional surgical work, Dr. Raihle calls you at home to check up on you and see how you are doing. He also is very careful with patients - asking about your comfort level, whether or not you feel any pain, etc. It's the most pleasant visit you'll ever have at a dentist's office. Recently, I had an appointment for a cleaning, and the regular hygienist was not available; so, Dr. Raihle did the cleaning for me, and he was very gentle - yet thorough. So, rest assured - you're in good hands. Having four children, Dr. Raihle is also no stranger to working with children either - big or small - they all like him. The staff is also excellent - Liz, his dental assistant, is his right-hand. She too is equally skilled at caring for patients - ensuring their comfort and putting them at ease. Dr. Kevin Raihle and his staff are vibrant, friendly and exceptionally competent. I first visited their office to get a second opinion on what I thought was a a lot of dental intervention for a small dental issue. I did not inform Dr. Raihle that I was concerned, just asked for a recommendation. His far more conservative (and a fraction of the cost) intervention not only sounded more appropriate, but the years since have vindicated my judgment. The staff is wonderful with children (Kevin has 4 small kids of his own), really gets to know the patients, and offers flexible hours. The dentist does not do the cleanings, but I've always preferred a good hygienist to do those--no interruptions and time can be taken. I've never waited for my appointment nor feel rushed out. read more

I first used Kevin when I worked in the downtown Chicago area and Kevin had an office there. When I retired and Kevin moved his office to a suburb many miles from where I lived, I changed dentists. I was never as satisfied as when I used Kevin. Now my spouse and I make the trip to his office because we are so impressed with his competence and compassion as well as his staff. Where do I start?? I had been getting dental care else where and was dissatisfied with the work performed down the road. It took me nearly a year to locate another office. I don't know about you but the dentist is not my favorite. I located this office with a google search. Upon calling the receptionist was beyond pleasant and making an appointment was very simple. When I got to my appointment I was greeted will smiles and warm welcomes from the staff. The office atmosphere was very warm and home like, very comfortable seating in the lobby. I was explained my insurance coverage which was to my surprise. Before going into the exam room the Doctor came out and greeted me by name and welcomed me to the practice. The hygienist was super nice and informative. Through the entire cleaning she explained thoroughly what she was doing and why. Soon after Dr. Raihle came in and did a full overview of everything. He is very nice and down to earth. I have never experienced this with a dentist before. Then about a week later I received a hand written card in the mail from Dr. Raihlel welcoming me again which was a really nice touch. I look forward to getting my teeth back in tip top shape with this practice as this seem like it is a very good choice. read more

My last root canal was 20 years ago it was horrible. It became infected. I vowed to never have one again. But all I can say go to a great dentist and NO PAIN. DR. Kevin and his entire staff are great. It's a very warm, close-knit environment and everyone from Kevin to the receptionist are very friendly.
