Recently I had a root canal done by Dr Keith Summers. this was the second time he had done a root canal for me in the last few years. He is quite skillful and expert at doing this procedure. He explained everything beforehand and as he went along. It was a painless procedure both times. Receiving a phone call the next morning on how I felt is a very nice feature of this practice. I had nearly no pain with either of the root canals afterwards and I would very highly recommend him for any root canal procedure that you may need. Dr. Stephen Humowiecki read more

Had a great experience, again. This is my second time using Cameo. Called for a consult and got in two days later for 730am 3D X-rays. Was sent all the paperwork prior to the appointment so it was all done online prior to the appointment, which made check-in run smooth. Saw Dr Neal who made his recommendations and got me in same day. He was kind and I loved his energy which made me more calm being in the chair. He was clear on expectations and got me out just close to an hour later. FYI there is a 3% fee if you use credit card. read more

Beware!!!! They are like McDonald's you go in for one thing and before they take care of what you are there for, they add a non insurance high ticket item. If I am in pain, and I am here to get my tooth/teeth pulled, why are you trying to sell me implants and for the back of my mouth. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE PATIENT ONLY MONEY!!! I was also told by someone, that if I was of another race (I am black) they would not have done that. Plus I did not see, 1 black worker there!!!! Unfortunately I had to add a star to place this review, I give them zero stars. In this day, who has money for implants!!!!!! read more

I cancelled appointments I had to go here with my son who had a car accident and broke his front tooth and has pain in the one next to it and office gave me a price for panoramic xray and possible root canal and consult of $1500.00 but when I went in and explained car accident and Allstate pays up to $2000. Medical and I would pay $1500 out of pocket then the cost just got higher. They wanted almost $2300. and so I spoke to office manager and she was of no help and it was more about the money than the patient. Sick people when my son is sitting in the waiting room in pain and now we cancelled the other dental appointments. Now he has to wait two weeks to see another endodontist. Don't go here because there are other great endodontists in our area for half the costs. Disgusting place to deal with. read more

On Saturday, January 4, 2025, I experienced intense tooth pain and visited my dentist, who took an X-ray and referred me to Cameo Dental. I had previously used their services in 2023 for a root canal and wisdom tooth extractions, with positive experiences. I informed them that I suffer from PTSD and have heightened pain sensitivity due to negative past medical experiences. At Cameo Dental in River Forest, Dr. John Jeff Neal determined I had an infected, uncommon third root canal in a tooth that had already undergone a root canal. He performed the procedure, which was painful but manageable. However, he prescribed only over-the-counter pain relievers, which proved ineffective once the numbing wore off. By Sunday, the pain was unbearable. Unable to reach Dr. Neal or the office, I went to the ER at MacNeal Hospital early Monday morning, where I was admitted, given IV antibiotics, morphine, and oxycodone. A Cameo Dental oral surgeon, Dr. Andrew Sugar, reviewed my CT scan and recommended the tooth be extracted the next day. On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, I was discharged from the hospital and had an appointment at Cameo Dental's Berwyn office. Still in significant pain, I attempted to explain my situation to the assistant, who dismissed my concerns, insisting Tylenol and Advil were sufficient. I became emotional, pleading for help, but was met with resistance and condescension. Dr. Paul Rossetti, the oral surgeon, provided a brief explanation of the extraction procedure. When my husband raised concerns about pain management, Dr. Rossetti dismissively said, "We'll cross that bridge when we get to it," and refused to address the issue further. His demeanor became aggressive, insisting my husband leave the room, contrary to previous experiences at Cameo. He also refused to acknowledge my pain sensitivity and disregarded my history. During the procedure, Dr. Rossetti was forceful with injections and dismissive of my pain. At one point, he grabbed my face and angrily told me not to scream because there were other patients present. I felt terrified and psychologically violated. Although I was in intense pain, I complied to ensure the procedure was completed. The extraction itself was agonizing, and despite my signals to stop, he continued roughly, growing increasingly impatient and accusatory. Afterward, Dr. Rossetti acted as if nothing had happened, asking if my husband should be brought in. I left the office in shock, deeply dissatisfied with the lack of compassion and professionalism from both the assistant and Dr. Rossetti. My husband stayed to settle the bill while I waited in the car, still reeling from the experience. I believe Dr Rossetti intentionally inflicted pain on me as retribution for questioning his authority. read more

Had a consult with Dr. Neal and ended up scheduling the recommended root canal. Things didn't go as planned due to a crack along my whole tooth when he got in there and got the filling out. He was very candid and told me with a root canal and a crown, that would only be about a 50 percent chance that things would work out; and, if it were him, he would have the tooth pulled. I so greatly appreciated his honesty, instead of having me go through costly procedures that may not have worked or lasted in the long run. He then checked in with another doctor/dentist who is housed within the same building to see if he could pull that tooth for me that very day since I was already numbed up with novocaine/lidocaine (whatever they use), and that doctor, Dr. Alex Munaretto, was able to fit me in, in between other patients he had, and pulled my tooth within about a minute or two or three. Follow-up instructions provided of course, as well as gauze and some OTC pain meds to hold me over. I was very impressed by not only both of those professionals but also their assistants (all three of them between the initial consult day and the two I had interacted with yesterday) and everyone working the front desk as well, answering phones, checking me in, billing estimates, checking me out. Someone even called here this a.m. to check on me and to make sure I am doing okay and not in any pain after my extraction procedure yesterday. Excellent care, communication, transparency, friendliness, and professionalism by each and every person I had been in contact with up there. No one wants to lose a tooth, but of course I was offered options re an implant and just had a great experience up there overall. Thanks, all! read more

This office is something else- the office staff are confused and disorganized- you don't get a reminder text or call for your appointment- They could have just apologized but they swept it under the rug- also the person they send in to your room "patient care specialist which really is not; they should just be honest and say billing specialist" after you meet with your doctor; "Natalie" or the lady with the sick pinky tail and neck tattoo that came into explain the procedure never ever explained the procedure- she was rough and gruff and huffed and puffed- she didn't explain anything but screamed what parts of procedure my insurance would cover and then what parts that I would be responsible for. She was terrifying and rude and unpleasant- She was like a pit bull sent into get the payment but I would be happy to have someone nice explain thoroughly what I will be getting done in detail and not extorting money purposes- Maybe she was having a rough day but it was grossly unprofessional. Yeah- you have great dentists but I really wanted to consider going to a different doctor- I love the doctor and the hygienist or assistants but the office staff made me feel super uncomfortable and yucky!! I was thinking about saying something to the office manager but- I was like- hmm. They seemed pretty happy avoidiing unhappy inquiries on the phone so I wasn't sure if it was going to go anywhere- The doctor and assistants are so nice I wish the office staff were a little more with it too. read more

I was referred to Cameo Dental Specialist by my dentist for dental work in April of 2023. Dr. Q was great she performed the procedure and made me feel very comfortable during the laser procedure. Unfortunately, I was back in this places 10 more times. The office staff was rude and very unprofessional. Every time I reported to their clinic, they were always demanding payment upfront before I receive services. I called Delta Dental of there procedure asking for payment before service. My last visit was for Aug 29, 2024, I called the billing department to find out that they had changed my appointment to September 5, without notifying me. When I go on Aug. 29, at 9 am I was only in there for 5 minutes just to tells me that my stitches had dissolved by themselves. When, I went in on Aug.9, at 9:30 to have the first stitches removed. They just wanted to bill dental insurance. I will not recommend this location in River Forest to anyone. read more

Beware of the billing scam! They tell you your cost then later send you a bill for $400 more.

My appointment was with the Oral Surgeon. It was 15 minutes. Surgeon was thorough and competent. No issues there. The problem is with the billing. As required by Cameo, I paid in full when services were rendered on September 1 2022. Seems reasonable. Cameo doesn't want to be in the business of chasing people for payment. My insurance company paid Cameo a few days later on September 7. When I called to check on the refund, I was told refunds are processed after month-end and I should get my refund in a week. Strangely, the end of the month was about two weeks away but okay...I'll check back. A few days into October and still nothing. Now I'm told there are using a new company for billing and Cameo will have to send them a message to find out the status and get back to me. A couple of weeks go by and still nothing. I call again...and I am told that they have to confirm the funds are in the bank. I ask myself, "Perhaps someone has to physically visit the bank to check the cash drawer that's labeled "Cameo's money" and look for the $200 wrapped in a rubber band with my name on it?" No, that can't be the case, I assure myself. Once again I am promised someone will check into it and get back to me. Start of November, the same cycle repeats itself. "Have to message the billing company". I wonder what type of message is being used? Is it a message in a bottle floating up Lake Michigan en route to Milwaukee? Or perhaps its a encoded message and the billing company doesn't have the decoder? I understand everyone is busy and it's not a lot of money....no one's Christmas is going to be ruined because Cameo is a slow-payer. But if they had a sign "Payment is due when services are rendered and refunds will be sent in a few months or so", then at least my expectations would have been set and I would put this statement on the very bottom of my accounts receivable pile. If the shoes was on the other foot, would Cameo be charging me a late fee? (I'm still being optimistic as its been 3 months and I have still not received my refund). read more

Terrible. They raised the price originally quoted. Dr. Munretto was arrogant. They were recommended by my dentist. I will not be going back.

Yes, staff VERY kind, and they got me in on an Emergency appt. PAIN w that root canal, was quickly remedied. I give my THUMBS up.

Recently has a Root Canal done by Dr. Keith Sommers and team. They were wonderful and it was painless! Easy to schedule, high tech 3D x-ray, thoroughly explained the process, constantly, checked in to make sure I was ok, clearly laid out follow-up and aftercare, gave an emergency number and even called the next day to see how I was doing. I highly recommend Dr. Sommers and this practice. All the fear that I had about this procedure was quashed and I'd gladly go back to them if necessary in the future! read more

Today I got my root canal after a referral from try family dental. Everyone was very nice and efficient. I hope I don't need another root canal but I wouldn't going back. read more

Cameo Dental Specialists - River Forest - Root canal????? - Endodontists Near Me - River Forest, Illinois

Reluctant to ever give any business a negative review, but the staff here is very unorganized. I was not treated as an individual patient, but a box that was being checked off that day. Quick and professional, just what I was looking for in an endodontist. Also Dr. Babcic and Sammie chatted with me as we waited for the anesthetic to take effect. I could tell they were checking to see if I was frightened and were ready to put me at ease. I wasn't at all nervous -- I hate to think of how many root canals I've already had so I'm a seasoned veteran -- but I appreciated the compassion and would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Babcic to anyone who apprehensive about dental procedures. The front office staff was very good about checking with my insurance carrier and letting me know upfront how much I would owe. No one LIKES getting a root canal, but this was the most pleasant outcome I could envision. read more

I just completed my first ever root canal about 2 hours ago and am feeling great! It's obviously not a procedure I would want to go through but the experience from beginning to end has been incredible. When I called to schedule an appointment, the receptionist was playful, understanding, attentive and accommodating. When I actually met her in person, she was just as wonderful as she was on the phone. Dr. Babcic Tal performed my surgery and she got me as comfortable as I was going to get by playfully walking me through what could be expected during the 45 minutes. Both her and her assistant could tell that I wasn't comfortable (not uncomfortable from pain, just the anxiousness of not knowing what to expect) and they kept checking in on me to make sure I wasn't in pain and assuring me that I was doing great. There is something to be said about having people as thoughtful, caring and professional as the Cameo staff that makes a tough situation a breeze to get through. I hope I never have to go back and see them again, but I would recommend them to absolutely anyone. A++ read more

I have had two appointments over the past two weeks. The first was to perform a root canal. Dr. Sommers did a great job assessing my situation. Instead, after his counsel, we decided to do a partial root canal and focus more on my infection and abscess. He was immediately able to alleviate my throbbing pain. I was put on antibiotics and scheduled for two weeks later to make a final determination on the root canal. Again, after careful analysis and discussion, including Dr. Katie Quinlan, we decided not to complete the root canal, but to extract the tooth and do an implant. I went through the extraction and installation of the implant today. Dr. Katie and Natalie treated me with perfect care and made sure at no point i was experiencing any pain. An experience that I was dreading turned out very favorably. I'm very appreciative. read more

My wife, Dorothy, says she'd give Dr. Baptiste, her oral surgeon, 10 stars if she could. She has gone to Cameo for years. Owing to anesthesia issues, her dentist was not able to clear an infection, and he stopped the procedure and referred her to an oral surgeon--Cameo. Dr. Baptiste, was, is, a consummate professional, listening carefully to Dottie's story and concerns about the anesthetic. He told her that he would have to use the anesthetic that she's concerned about, but that he would mix it with her preferred anesthetic, time the injections carefully, monitor her pain, and re-anesthetize as needed. I taught and consulted about clinical ethics during my career @ Rush Univ. Md Ctr. In the process, I learned that without the patient and the patient's input and participation, there really isn't a health care team. Dr. Baptiste recognizes and lives that. I was there for this conversation, to help Dottie with hearing Dr Baptiste. Then he shooed me out and did his magic on her mouth. She says he's very patient, unhurried. After about a week, she began to notice a small lump at the surgical site. He saw her the next morning, a Saturday of all things, explained that the lump is typical after this surgery. Then he proceeded to review next steps and the rationale for them, making a drawing to show us what her situation is. He gave her feedback on her care of the wound (she's doing well), told her when she can go back to using a toothbrush in at at area. We left greatly relieved and cheered by his availability, his respectful and available manner, and his information. Tha staff are friendly, attentive, and quick to help, which I think carries over into the clientele, who held the door for me as I entered with my walker. Rev. J. Russell Burck, PhD read more

Barbaric! I had a nerve radiating pain to my whole jaw, ears, and eyes, no painkiller would work, needed emergency root canal. Haven't slept a minute throughout the prior night, counting down to the open of their facility. Told them the situation, begging for an appointment, but they adamantly, coldheartedly refused to see me, on a day, where my general dentist was closed (and they supposed to be the specialists). "Go somewhere else" and "Emergency care will help you with your pain" is what they told me, a recent patient with all my insurance info on file with them. Amazing staff and amazing customer service!! I saw Dr. Rick and couldn't be happier with the services I received. Highly recommended!!!

Had a small fracture in my tooth. After a quick call to the office I was seen that day. Unfortunately I had a nonrestorable crack and my tooth needed an extraction. It was done that day and an hour later I was out the door. Flash forward three months and the area is ready for an implant. Again an hour later and literally no anxiety I was drivng home. Dr Alex Munareto and Darius were unbelievable. I had literally no posit op issues at all. I was comfortable the whole time knowing these two were meticulously restoring my mouth as I listened to great music. Everything went so well I referred my own mother there for her extraction and bone graft. She drove an hour there, which is a lot apparently for her, just for the procedure based on my insisting her getting it done here. After her quick procedure, as well with Dr Alex Munaretto, she had me take some pictures with Dr Alex and Darius because she enjoyed her time there so much with them. Thank you so much for your sublime expertise. read more

Maybe they were just having a bad day....this was my first visit to this dentist, but since almost all of my dental experiences have been positive, I expected the best. Walking into the office, I was greeted with a sign that read, "Turn off Cell Phones. No Food or Drinks." The receptionist did not greet me. She barely met my eyes as she handed me a clipboard with a stack of forms to fill out, along with brisk instructions. I filled out my forms, and was called back to the dental examination room. Since I was not greeted, but directed, to the dental chair, I can only assume it was a dental hygienist who proceeded to take x-rays of tooth #3. When she could not take a clear x-ray on her third try, she called in a person in blue scrubs, who - again - did not introduced herself. I was beginning to wonder if they were pulling them in from the bus stop outside the office. Moving on to x-ray number four, I expressed concern at the amount of trouble they seemed to be having x-raying tooth #3. The girl in blue scrubs flippantly rolled her eyes and said, "X-rays are important." Taking a deep breath, I considered the time out of my day I had scheduled for the appointment, the time I had spent driving and finding the dental office, and the fact that I was primed for a root canal and had already written my check for $1095.00. I admonished myself to be patient. Then myself said to me, "This feels all wrong." So I stood up and said, "I am not having a root canal. This is not the right place for me." It seems from the other review, I may be in the minority so it may have just been a bad day. I did rescheduled the appointment with another dentist the next day and had great experience. read more

I waited a year after my implant before writing this review to make sure nothing went terribly wrong during the healing process. After having multiple surgeries through other dental practices to save a cracked tooth, I ended up at Cameo Endodontics when my dentist informed me there was nothing left they could do to save the tooth. I went to Cameo and was assigned to Dr. Keith Sommers. I feel very lucky I had him. He is very personable and knowledgeable. He answered every question I had no matter how insignificant it might seem. I was really nervous about the procedures, but Dr. Sommer's confidence and knowledge put me at ease. He just has a great way about him. He never made me feel rushed either. Yes they see multiple patients at one time, but I didn't feel neglected. When it came time for the surgery to insert the implant, he wasn't seeing other patients. If I could clone Dr. Sommers I would because he is the perfect blend of friendly and competent for a doctor. In addition - Cameo fit me into an earlier appointment than I was originally scheduled because my tooth was so badly infected. I was surprised at some of the negative reviews, but I didn't go to the other doctors. As far as the staff, they were always friendly and competent. read more

Bad experience. I went to Cameo b/c my general dentist referral on re-treatment.
