I sincerely wish that they could have followed us into the suburbs. As an avid traveller AND the cat-dad to a special needs feline, I was overjoyed to locate a trustworthy pet sitter who could accommodate difficult medical situations. When my cat developed three chronic conditions almost simultaneously, I thought that my vacationing days were over. Ultimately (and to this day) her treatment regimen grew to include seven medications--some given twice per day--a combination of pills, an oral liquid, and subcutaneous injections. Caring for her became routine but torpedoed our recreational possibilities. Enter Jean from North Shore Pet Sitters. She has experience with all of those types of medications and handled them like a champ. Before booking the first stint, we had an in-home consultation, at which Jean imbued complete confidence that we were leaving our darlings in good hands. Besides expertise, compassion and enthusiasm are her other strong suits. Jean always left a detailed log of the cats' activities which showed that she truly enjoyed being a caregiver. Booking was always easy and the prices were more than fair. A bargain, in fact. Expert, compassionate care of one's furry family members is practically priceless. I can't overstate enough what it meant to us to find a reliable cat sitter. Discovering NSPS and Jean relieved a lot of angst in my household. If you need someone just to show up, change the litter, fill the food and water bowls, and sprinkle some catnip around, I'm sure that North Shore can handle that. But if you have a high-maintenance cat, they will really shine, especially if Jean is your sitter. She is a treasure.

My husband and I use NSPS every time we go out of town and always know our cats are in great hands!…read moreWe get plenty of pictures, and we get detailed notes about the kitties from each day. The pets also get a lot of attention. It's not just a quick visit to give food and go. They took great care of our senior cat before she passed away, and they take great care of our new kittens. As long as we live in the area, we will use NSPS.

Ruby played…read morewith Daphne and gave her attention / love while we were away, and we could not be more grateful. Each visit, Ruby texted us a photo and update to keep us assured of Daphne's safe care. We love our cat dearly (ok, I'm obsessed with her...), so to find trustworthy, fellow cat-lovers who are dedicated to cat care has made our trips away from Chicago a lot less stressful. Leah is professional and organized with a contract listing time / home-visit preferences, and we appreciated that Ruby came by before we left to understand Daphne's routine and care. Highly recommend!

I have to say this is by far an outstanding, compassionate, and professional cat sitter service. When I initially contacted Leah (the owner) by email-she recommended Susan (who my cat absolutely adores). The Initial Visit- The initial visit with Susan was at my apartment and was free of charge. She came over to meet and greet me and my cat and to talk about my cat's needs and routine. She was able to see the food, water fountain, litterbox, etc. The Cat Care- Upon notifying River East Cat Sitters when I went out of town-Susan came to care for my cat daily. She spent a half an hour each visit with him. Since my cat is shy-I was expecting for him to just remain under the table-but NOPE-he loved her visits and she even turned on the water in the tub for him to get his little head wet and groom himself. He was so well adjusted and happy with Susan that when I returned from each visit-it was just like I had never left. He was content, happy, well fed, and well adjusted. The Fees- It costs $18.00 per half an hour visit. You can pay via Paypal on their web site. I left a tip for each visit on the table for Susan as well. River East Cat Sitters also offers mail pickup and other minor services for a nominal fee. The Business- Is licensed and bonded. A contract is provided and signed before the date of service and clearly outlines the roles and responsibilities of River East Cat Sitters. Why Susan is the BEST- FYI-Ask for Susan! She is truly amazing! She left a welcome home note for me when I returned from each of my trips. She also sent daily text messages and pictures of my cat! It was very comforting and reassuring! TRULY STELLAR SERVICE!

I received very detailed reports of my cat's visit along with at least a dozen photos and a video each day. Highly recommend.

Susan also re-arranged her day so she could be there to meet the locksmith and make sure everything was fixed, saving us from having to contact any other life lines or friends! We could not have asked for better service especially while being out of the country. I have used CC and DD for several years now between at least three apartments in Chicago. I have never had problems with logistics, keys, or receiving notifications daily on our two cats. Highly recommend them for great service and business sense as well as being true animal lovers. Thank you!

We started with one dog and when we adopted our second, a special needs puppy, they were incredibly open to helping us and loving to our puppy, who needed serious help getting up and down the stairs for a time. There is always a text with pictures after every walk and a note with more details to come home to. We were on a five walks a week, two dogs per walk schedule so it was imperative to have solid communication, which we did. Our requests were answered promptly and cancelations were no problem. We are sad to be moving out of state and losing such a great partner. Bonus: When we've been locked out of the house, they come and let us in (for a small fee, better than a locksmith)! PS: Our pup is the one with the hat on ;).

5 Stars is not enough for this business!!!…read more We have been using the services of iPet Chicago for over a year now and have absolutely nothing negative to say about them!!! We have 2 cats and a dog and travel quite a bit. We used to board our dog at a doggy day care type facility and then just have someone come and check in on our cats every couple of days. Then our oldest cat developed diabetes and now needs 2 shots and pills daily. We looked into boarding all 3 animals, but not only was it going to be way expensive, the animals were only guaranteed to be able to spend time with each other if we paid extra money. This really bothered us and we were also not too keen on the idea of our cats sitting in a cage for most of the day. We then discovered the services of iPet Chicago, Inc. They actually stay at our house for the entire time we are away. They walk the dog, play with all animals, and give the diabetic cat his meds daily all for the flat daily rate they charge...no hidden fees and no ridiculous extra fees!!! They also pick up your mail, etc. while you are away. Our animals love iPet so much that they are often depressed when we return...I guess we are not nearly as much fun as they are!!! iPet offers other pet services, but the pet sitting/house sitting service is the only service we have used so I can't really comment on the others. I highly recommend iPet Chicago, Inc. for your pet sitting needs!!!
