Beyond the results, the entire experience is just wonderful. The salon is clean, bright, and welcoming, with an amazing polish selection. I never know what color to choose, but the team always steers me right -- they have a great eye and never miss. The foot massages during the pedicures are next-level relaxing, whether you want to chat or just unwind. The Nail Motif ladies are warm, funny, and genuinely care about making every client feel like they're among friends. Even the other customers are kind and friendly -- it's truly just good vibes all around. I live in Corte Madera and have several salons I could walk to, but Nail Motif is 100% worth the drive. It all felt rushed - they were late for my apt, but continued to take walk-ins and therefore my apt was rushed and the work showed. I had to ask for my nails to be redone and they were still so bad, I had to redo them myself after I left. Terrible cuticle work, poorly filed nails, polish didn't cover the nails and fuzz was on them, unevenness in length and polish. The pedicure was fine but also had uneven toenails and there was little attention to my heels/feet, so overall felt like a half pedicure. It looks like they do amazing design work, but for a regular mani/pedi this was a flop.

I am a first time customer why would you tell me it is $85 when the fill is 60 and the range for the design is 5 to 15 even if you charged me the max for only two nails it would be $75. The receptionist was warm, spoke English clearly, and the overall vibe felt more professional and welcoming than some other salons in Marin. They take both cash and Apple Pay, which I appreciated. The appointment itself was fast--almost surprisingly so. I got a very basic acrylic set done in about 40 minutes, whereas this usually takes closer to an hour to an hour and a half. That's both a pro and a con. If you're in a rush and just need something done, this place is efficient. That said, the technician was pretty persistent about upselling (gel, rhinestones, chrome, etc.), and when I declined and asked for something very simple, she seemed a bit irritated. There were also some confusing add-on charges (like an extra fee just for shaping, and then another for polish), which weren't clearly reflected on the sign. In the end, though, the total was still less than what I usually pay at Nails #1, which often creeps up to around $80 after add-ons--so price-wise, this was reasonable. As for the final result: the nails look okay. Not bad, but not super polished either. You can tell they were done quickly--each nail looks slightly different, and the overall finish isn't as refined as what you'd get from a longer, more detailed appointment. It felt more like efficiency over craftsmanship. I did like that I could take a phone call without bothering anyone, and the ambience was calm despite how busy it was. Would I go back? Maybe--if I'm short on time and just need my hands done quickly. But if I want a more meticulous, pampering experience where extra care is taken, I'd probably look elsewhere.
