Decent size restaurant. Customer service was good. Chicken was decent. The batter wasn't as crispy as expected. The batter didn't even stick to the chicken very well. The sauces were good. Because it was our first time, we ordered the platter which had 4 flavors which was original, yangyum (spicy & sweet), garlic and soy. The garlic didn't even have a garlicky flavor, the soy was good and so was the yangyum. The original is just plain and fried. We also had a seasonal item which was the rosé tteokbokki. I've had it at another place before and they tell you it's a creamier version of the regular tteokbokki but the sauce was so soupy and not as thick. It had rice cake, fish cakes, cabbage, carrots and 1 boiled egg. Again, would have loved the dish if the sauce was thicker. The corn cheese was good super fresh but for some reason when it cooled down, the corn felt/tasted dry. I understand when the cheese hardens but I didn't understand the corn being dry. read more

We've been eyeing this chicken place for awhile now and finally got around to going here. Its pretty busy and can get filled fast i recommend getting in early. Overall the restaurant itself was nice and clean. The chicken was okay we have definitely had better korean fried chicken else where but its good enough to pass! Corn cheese was amazing and the soy glaze sauce was pretty yummy. The batter of the chicken could be better but it did its job since we were craving some chicken. This review is split into two portions: top section is for new patrons and there is quick snippet at the bottom for existing patrons of the Dallas location. This is a new Korean fried chicken branch joint that recently opened in Richardson about 2.5 weeks ago. Koreans love their fried chicken with soju or beer and they are amazing at making it. Their original shop is a little hole-in-the-wall spot in Old Korea Town in Dallas off Royal Lane. They open at 5pm and close a 2am which means this is the perfect place to go when craving fried chicken and sapporo in the middle of the night. The interior is trendy with lots of seating and lighting. Music is usually playing pretty loudly. This is a great place for groups. The menu consists of fried chicken (obviously) in the form of either wings or whole chicken cut into sections, some fried chicken based entrees, and some other seafood dishes. There are a couple soups and some ramen as well. They are licensed to serve alcohol so you can enjoy your chicken with Soju, bottled beer, or wine. I ordered 20 pieces of hot wings and a small size of onion topping over spicy nuggets for takeout. The hot wings are lightly battered wings that are just a bit spicy and come with hot sauce on the side. You can also choose other sauces, if you want. They also have a non-battered version called nude wings if that's what you prefer. The onion topping over spicy nuggets are vertically cut onions mixing with a vinegar sauce sitting on top of a plate of spicy powdered chicken nuggets. Since I ordered it for takeout, I got the onions and nuggets side by side in a box. The onion over nuggets dish comes in a small and large size. Small is usually enough for 2 people if you plan to order wings. Large is enough to feed 3 with wings. I waited about 15 minutes or so for my food, which is fairly reasonable given how much I ordered and the fact that they make it fresh. The hot wings came out piping hot (temperature) and just a tiny bit spicy. I didn't dip in the hot sauce as I felt the wings were seasoned enough for my preference. The meat was very tender and juicy. There was just a little bit of batter so you could focus on the meat. The vinegar sauce with onion was tangy, spicy (from the onion), and refreshing. Eating it with the spicy nuggets kind of balanced each other out. Overall, a different experience, and tasty. Be prepared to have onion breath the rest of the night. They also gave a side of pickled daikon which was absolutely amazing. It was sour, sweet, crunchy, and fresh. The prices are absolutely worth the quality and freshness of the food. Since I ordered takeout, I can't judge the service. However, I could tell that the cashiers were very positive and spunky. They seemed just as excited about the opening of this second location as most existing patrons. -- Comparison against the Dallas location: This is the long awaited second location!! The menu is slightly different as they've added ramen and removed a couple items (a soup and one of the kitchen foods). The prices are the same. The interior is massive compared to the original location. There is actually room to walk and stand around. There are lots of seating and the interior is very bright. I personally liked the dark atmosphere of the Dallas location especially when drinking beer. Wait time is about the same. Food quality is the same as well. This is definitely a successful opening of a second location which is not easy to do when stretching out for the first time. read more

I've been to the Dallas location and I'm glad they've finally opened one on the Richardson side of town. FYI: when you order the fried chicken, they cut a whole or half chicken into pieces. This makes it a little harder to eat in my opinion. I'm more of a chicken wings type of person. I like wings and drums. So if you're like that too, order the chicken wings and not the fried chicken. Flavors: - yangyum (3/5) - soy (3/5) - regular (4/5) - sweet sauteed garlic (5/5) Service and environment (5/5) the service was swear but my friend and I were the only ones there so I cant really say much about it. They were attentive and the place was clean. If I were to come back I would order the chicken wings and not the fried chicken. Everything is made fresh to order and comes out piping hot and crispy. My favorite flavors are garlic and soy, lots of depth to their glazes, always enjoyable. Yangum - ordered spicy level but it wasn't spicy to me, I think hot Cheetos get spicy after like 20 of them. I would recommend getting xspicy if you want a kick. The fried chicken was crispy but a hard crispy. The batter they use to fry the chicken in is only okay. Green onion topping - the green onion and sweet mustard sauce was very refreshing from all the fried chicken. The white meat nuggets were surprisingly very juicy. However, they could have been fried a little longer because they weren't very crispy. I think they also had a lot of the sweet mustard sauce so some pieces were a bit soggy. This Korean chicken shop is located in Richardson at the intersection of belt line and Jupiter where the old gatti's pizza used to be. They really did a good job updating the space and bringing it into the 21st century. They have huge potions sizes here. We ordered a large combo fries that came with French fries, curly fries and onion rings that was enough to feed a basketball team. We also got a ordered of cheesy corn which was delicious with gooey mozzarella melted on top of corn. You get a little show too when you order this dish since they blow torch right in front of you. Lastly, we got a small order of white onion chicken that was enough to share with 3 people. The chicken was crispy and tender with a generous topping of white onions and a sauce that taste similar to French onion dip. The service is very friendly and fast. They have a button you can press that makes a chicken noise and a server is flocking to your table right away. Ok I went super overboard and ordered $75 worth on Uber eats for just myself The chicken is super crispy; as most kfc (Korean fried chicken) should be. The crisp is loud and the batter is light (not thick and heavy like the American counterparts)! I ordered the garlic wings (spicy), boneless (medium spicy) both with sauce on side w a side of rice cakes (sauce was also on side). It was packed very nicely so that the chicken wouldn't get soggy. I ended up barely eating the sauce and just enjoyed the chicken! The meat was delicious and juicy. The batter was light and flaky and that undeniably loud crunch was alllll there! It wasn't as spicy as I wanted it to be. I just got regular spicy; next time I'll get it spicer. It's so hard to tell what spicy is; especially with Asian restaurants as some are wayyyy spicy when they say spicy and some isn't even at all. This level of spicy for me was not even spicy. Popeyes chicken is spicer so I don't know if I had an off day or if my tolerance just got higher. I enjoyed the chicken nonetheless. Next time I'll ask for hot sauce on side maybe! I obviously didn't finish what I bought and didn't even get to the rice cakes. I'll just air fry the left overs and eat all weekend. We were very excited to come here on a recommendation from a friend. Upon arrival we were quickly seated and waited on. The service here was good but everything else really lacked. We were excited to order some Korean fried chicken and we opted to go with the sampler to get a taste of their four main flavors. We also got French fries and Kimchi as sides. The food was brought out in a very reasonable amount of time. The plain original fried chicken was great and that's why this review is even getting 3 stars. The other 3 flavors were really lacking. They looked very delicious and they had nice sauce on them. But the actual flavor was so flat. The crisp was good but that was about it. We really expected to get more flavor and oomph and we were really disappointed. However it didn't end there. The fries were such basic, out of the bag from the freezer aisle fries. They had no crunch or character to them they were totally blah. We almost got the kimchi fries but decided not to since it was like $15-16 and in retrospect I'm so happy we didn't. The kimchi we ordered on the side was totally lackluster and had no real kimchi flavor. They did bring us a small side bowl of pickled radishes with the chicken which was by far the best part of the meal. And then they were so cheap in the weirdest ways. At a fried chicken restaurant service saucy foods eaten with your hands you need good paper towels however they only provided small napkins like what you would get with your drink on an airplane which was a mess. The water cups were two small styrofoam cups though they did give us a carafe of water and it was given to us on a small paper plate. Food was great! I'd come back here for the chicken. My family and I ordered the platter and the green onion specialty chicken. While the food was great, the service was lacking. There were two staff members running the front, from taking to-go and table orders, getting food from the kitchen, bussing, cleaning, and setting up tables, and seating guests. We had to tell the two staff members that I had a table of 5 and that we were waiting to be seated 3 times. We got seated after 30 minutes of waiting. I just felt bad for the two staff members cause I could tell they were swamped with a lot of work and still kept a great attitude. We just order their signature baked chicken, combo chicken and extra green onion salad. Wow we weren't disappointed. The baked chicken was perfectly seasoned with crispy skin and the potatoes on the side is a must have. Eat it with a little green onion salad and you have the perfect flavor combo and texture in your mouth. I also liked their crispy chicken marinated (in Korean yangnyom). I opted for regular as my children cannot eat spicy food at all. But this wasn't spicy at all and we were all able to enjoy it. Their green onion salad is so simple but somehow really good. The dressing taste like honey mustard with black pepper and maybe something else. But since green onions can be a little spicy the sweet sauce goes well especially when you some fried chicken. It cuts the grease even though it's not greasy at all. I'm sure everything taste much better if you eat it at the restaurant but Grubhub was able to deliver it to us still warm and delicious. This location is just as good if not better, their service is amazing and my server "Jenny" was so informative and took great care of us. First off the menu said if you order a whole fried chicken, you should allow 30 minutes to cook. Ok no problem I'm thinking they make it fresh to order. Well that didn't seem to be the case. We ordered 1 whole fried chicken, and it came out 5 minutes later. I know it takes much longer than 5 minutes to cook a whole chicken. Now don't get me wrong it wasn't bad, it just wasn't that good, to me it was just ok. I think they open at 5 pm and we got there at 5:45. I hope we didn't get reheated chicken from the night before. My wife and I categorized it as drunk chicken, meaning it would be good if you were drunk. We also ordered spicy baby octopus, and a side order of Kimchi. The baby octopus was very good, spicy and had a nice freshness to it, that dish was well prepared. The Kimchi was also good. The complex is older looking and in old K-town near Kings Spa. This is the only location I've tried so I can't really compare to the other one. It was my first time with the husband. The service was very nice and quick. The waitress had good English and greeted and sat us right away. Still, I liked the authentic vibe of the place. The menu consists mostly of Korean fried chicken in different variations. They had entree portions, family portions, and also individual combo portions which was perfect. My husband got the sweet garlic and I got the original combo. It came with a side of your choice and a soda, which was a deal if you compared it to getting the regular portion. The garlic flavor was very subtle. A little too subtle and although we loved the chicken, we didn't like how it was cut up in small bite pieces where we had to fish for bones in the bites. The original was really good!! Simple, but super crispy and juicy. You can choose your spice level (spicy powder). I love spicy food, but be warned, "spicy" is pretty spicy if you take a big bite of that powder! I love how big the side portions were. Overall, we left very satiated! read more

I came here on a Saturday night with a couple of my friends at around 7pm and it was pretty packed, we had a 10-15 minute wait which wasn't bad. The place requires you to press a button when you're ready to order, but it seems like they don't have a good system for that yet, we had to call one of waitresses instead. However, considering that they just opened recently, it didn't bother us too much. My friends and I ordered the green onion chicken, the spicy rice cake with nuggets and the waffle fries. All three items were so delicious!! The chicken was crispy and juicy and the waffle fries had really good seasoning!
