All I could think while sitting in the restaurant was how the locals probably Love this place after a game. Inside isn't big but nicely decorated. Love the ceiling for the restroom hallway. Lot of chain restaurants around the area, but first "unique" spot I'll say I came across. Service was nice and fast and food was cooked to order. Came in at around 6pm so didn't get to try the doughnuts (two were wrapped by the receipted but wasn't the kind I wanted. Spicy Chicken sandwich - fresh and hot the spice was there as I had to let out a cough or two midway through. But not blazing hot. Slightly odd was the extra charge for spicy vs regular. 3/5 Chi-Fries - a tad overcooked. Fries were too crunchy. Parmesan didn't really do anything for me besides made wish I had saved $2 and just gotten regular. 3/5 For me they aced the first rule i have for all places. Have my food hot! This is a place I would drive to because not only is the food really good, the doughnuts are great, and best of all, the customer service is outstanding. I've been to the Chishack four times, but this last time was really really memorable. I live about 20 miles away, but I wanted to get a dozen specialty doughnuts for Easter. I arrived around 9:45. They don't start serving food until 10:30, so I figured I'd just get the doughnuts. Their selection is great so I got a couple key lime, coconut cream pie, maple bacon, etc. You get the picture. They had a picture of a ginormous fish sandwich for Easter so I asked about it. The manager offered to make me one even though I was 45 minutes early for actual food. They made me a sandwich with fries, and a drink (they had to fill the trough with ice for me), plus a hot dog to go. They threw in a free muffin with my order as well. The fish sandwich was outstanding. The doughnuts are epic, and like I said, they went out of their way to start cooking early for me as well. I've also had their burgers, onion rings, and subs. Everything is fresh, hot, and very tasty. The staff is very quick, and they really seem to care that you're happy when you leave. I wish they would open a Chishack near me (Carol Stream), but until then, I will continue to drive the 20 mile trek to get my fix. read more

My experience was very good. I had the buffalo chicken salad and asked for it to be chopped and mixed which the man did quite nicely even though they usually don't chop and mix. Five stars for the crispy chicken sandwich. It's very crispy, delicious, and filling. Two stars knocked off for the absolutely TERRIBLE fries. It was my first time and I'd never get them again. How can a place like this have such bland tasting fries that seemed almost undercooked. And I paid extra for the "Chi" ones. Probably ate 6 before throwing the rest in the thrash. Lesson learned. This restaurant is a redo of a former KFC on 75th Street and Clarendon Hills Road, across from Hinsdale South H.S. The burgers are outstanding! and not greasy, putting Culvers in a spot for competition. The fried pickles are great, along with the fries and onion rings. I think they're going for fast casual but in reality it's decent fast food. I tried the Italian sub and it was kind of what you'd get from Subway. Not that I'm knocking Subway; I'll eat it as much as the next person but it's nothing special. Also their giardiniera is not spicy like at all. I get not everyone likes spice but it should have a little kick at least. The fries were average and actually a bit soggy. They do use the standard fake cheese product that is actually the best for dipping fries. I agree with most reviews that the standout was definitely the spicy chicken sandwich. I found chi shack through Yelp while looking for a local burger spot that was both not a bar, and not a chain. I was able to order online and the food was ready within about 10 minutes. You can customize your meals with plenty of additional toppings available. The burger was thick and juicy and the French fries were not greasy/oily. Most beef sandwiches are crumbles of beef mixed in with some small slices of meat that have been soaking all day this is not the case here. Quality beef!! Chi Shack's chicken sandwich rated highly amongst the sandwiches I've tried. Freshly made, crispy outer hand breading but juicy and tender chicken inside! Nice portion size too with just enough spices, not at all overpowering. Accompanying my sandwich was some of the best tasting fries I have had, fresh cut, with partial skin left on, freshly made staying crispy for the duration of my meal with just enough salt and seasoning. 10 out of 10 - would definitely recommend. We probably eat here once a week. That's a big deal for us because it means the WHOLE family loves it. We all appreciate their generous portions, and mom and dad especially appreciate their price tag. Four people eating for under $30 is always fine by me. My favorite sandwich here is the Italian beef. It's sliced thinly, but not so thin it's flaking apart. It's incredibly flavorful and the bread is perfect. Crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfect. I usually order mine dry (although it's not bone dry which is nice) and with mozzarella (which the appropriately put under the beef so it gets melty and delicious). I told my husband that this sandwich tastes like chicken soup makes you feel - aka the ultimate comfort food. My kids usually split an incredibly generous order of chicken tenders, and they are awesome. So awesome in fact that my husband and I regularly take the leftovers home and heat them up for a second meal that feeds both of us (tacos). Our kids also dig Italian sausage, and the one you can get at Chishack is really large. My kids can't eat one by themselves, so they share it or one of us polishes it off. Also, do yourself a favor and get the ChiFries. Gloriously good. Dipped in garlic butter and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese - you won't regret this order. So fantastic. Other eats we've enjoyed here: meatball sandwich, buffalo tenders, or even just a simple burger - all delicious, all worth having again. And if all of this wasn't enough, you can treat yourself to one of their deceptively decedent desserts. You might not think that cake slice or that cookie is going to be so outrageously over the top delicious, but it is. Oh it is. And don't forget the staff - they are friendly, courteous, and helpful. Everything else was decent, I had a bowl of chili with my side of fries. My kids got the chicken strips, fries and grilled cheese sandwich. No complaints from them so I will definitely order from them in the future. The drive thru time was a breeze as there was only 1 car ahead of me. I didn't have to wait that long as everything is cooked to order. Maybe I came at a decent time. Holy cow. My new favorite guilty pleasure. I came here in the morning and get a dozen donuts. I loved it so much and was so intrigued by the menu that I HAD to come back for dinner! It's also really nice that they have a drive thru - a special feature compared to most independent joints. The donuts are delicious - we got a dozen but they allowed us to mix so I did a 1/2 dozen of classic and 1/2 dozen signature. The maple bacon is going to be a highlight at any donut shop, but the one at CHISHACK is COVERED with bacon. It had a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and savory. Truly sublime! I also really enjoyed the key lime pie. I'm not a huge chocolate fan but I'm sure the Oreo or s'mores would be great for any chocolate lover. For dinner - we got a bacon burger, chicken strips, and a beef/sausage bowl. I really enjoyed the beef sausage bowl - it had all the taste of a great sandwich without the bread.
