I like how they have a lady at front who speaks good english. Nails were nice but the tech filed the crap out of my nails they were bleeding and sore when i got home. Did not come off for month and half. read more

The quality of Chi Nails has gone down and so I have revised my rating from 5 stars in 2015 to 2 stars now. I brought friends here twice as I raved about the salon and we all unfortunately left with mediocre nails that didn't last very long and became discoloured quickly. I think there was a change in ownership which has resulted in the change of quality. read more

This is a nice cozy little salon. The staff here are friendly. It comfortable , and they do a really good job massaging your feet. Of all the nail salons in Burnaby and New west that i have tried, i would say chi nail does the best service and massage. read more

My daughter and I have been getting pedicures at Chi nails once a month for well over two years. They use to be good, but I've noticed the service and attention have been lacking the last few times. Our last appt. lasted between 20-25 mins for the whole experience. they didn't do our heels, barley did our cuticles and the massages lasted just a few minutes. Quality of polish job was lacking and the only spoken words to us by the girls was "nice colour". Although I left decent tip I was so disappointed we won't be going back read more

Where do I even begin? I go to Lee everytime I go and she is ... Amazing. The place is clean and professional and extremely relaxing. Her work is to die for too, she takes her time and makes sure it's picture perfect. She is the ONLY person ever that I'll go to get my toes and nails done from. I always go here for my acrylic nails and they always last for at least a month (At least for me, because I don't get bugged by the gap from my nails growing). Yen is my favorite technician. She does excellent job on my nails, both hands and feet. The shellac pedicure I did still remain 2 and a half months later!! read more

Went here for the first time and requested Tim as I had heard through friends he was amazing. That indeed he was. I've been to many many places and to find this gem like a minute away via walking is a score. He is particular and very precise and gentle. Most definitely will be back. Absolutely the worst nail so a I have ever been to, by far. First visit: I made a booking in advance. I arrived 10 mins before my schedule appointment to be greeted by some smart phone engrossed person who acted as if working there was a punishment of some kind. I waited for 30 mins watching people arrive after me, though, being served before me. I asked the 'receptionist' twice how long it would be, and every time she said right away. I asked if I should run some errands and come back, and she said no as I would be helped right away. Another 10 mins went by, and no one even glanced my way. I decided to go run an errand at a store a couple of doors down and come back, and when I did return, a person that walked in with me that was already 45 mins late for her appointment was taken in before me, when I had already been waiting for nearly an hour. I called the receptionist on it, and she acted like she didn't know who I was (likely true, since she barely looked up from her phone the entire time I was there). Only when I really started to loose my cool did someone come up to me to say they would take me in. They were rude and eating something, and was annoyed with me, when I was the one that had been waiting an hour?! I told her to forget about it and walked out. Second visit: Despite my first encounter, and only because of the vicinity to my home, did I try this place again. I booked in advance, and this time was attended to within 15mins of arriving, (15mins after my appointment time was scheduled). The foot bath had obviously been drawn long before I arrived, as it was barely luke warm. My pedicure was nothing like what the two women sitting beside me received, (which included what looked like very relaxing hot stone massages) even though I purchased the same service. I was rushed in, rushed out, but at least I had my nails done (average quality). Third visit: I walked in today to see if they had room for a pedicure at some point in the afternoon, to which they replied 'right away, pick a colour. I now realize that their 'right away' means 15 minutes, at least. As I was waiting, another person arrived and sat beside me. Again, she was brought in first (which I could understand, since it appeared she had mad an advanced booking), though I was brought in immediately after her. We sat side by side at the same time, and while she was attended to, I waited another 20mins for anyone to begin, or even acknowledge me. No one did, so I interrupted the service beside me to request a towel to dry my feet so I could leave, and the guy brought me a an empty plastic package from an old pair of flip flops?! I caught another lady scurrying by me, and asked her for a towel. A towel. A towel, pointing to the number of dirty towels lying around. She gave me a towel, I dried my feet, put on my footwear, and got up to leave. A couple of staff members looked at me, one said 'oh', and then I walked out the door. It is absolutely beyond me how this place has received the positive reviews it has on here, not only for the horrendous service, the horrible atmosphere (zero ambience), the worn and torn quality of furniture/reading material ... I could go on. Never, ever again, regardless how convenient the location is. read more

I have visited about 10 times over the past two years, mainly for pedicures, and continue to return. I can usually get in without booking ahead, but if you have no time to wait, I recommend booking ahead. Generally, I have been very pleased with the quality of pedicures and the experience at the salon. My pedicures can last up to 4-5 weeks if I'm careful! No quality concerns there. The ladies are always polite but not overly friendly/chatty - perhaps due to language barrier or exhaustion, not sure. A few super nit-picky constructive comments: I'd like to see a greater selection of O.P.I. polish colours. As well, they could use the electric sander tools other salons use that really exfoliate efficiently (the job they do by hand is 8.5/10, so little to complain about, really). They could also offer a selection of magazines as other salons do, as clients are often there upwards of an hour. Finally, I have visited other salons that do a spray treatment to help the polish dry faster, as well as a multi-person mani and pedi drying machine you sit at that also accelerates drying. For quality, speed, price and convenience, I will continue to return to Chi Nails. read more

The lady I had seemed very cranky and not happy to be working there. I got a gel polish manicure. I had gel polish on that had to be removed. She wanted to use the drill to get it off- you're supposed to just soak and scrape to avoid damaging the nail bed underneath. I asked her to do it that way and had to argue with her to get her to do it even though it didn't take any longer in the end. She was a bit rough with the cuticles. The end result was not bad but not as smooth as I am used to from my usual place in yaletown and one of the nails started to chip only a few days later. read more

I have been a regular and loyal client and love to come for a mani/pedi with my daughter and or mom when we can all get together. Otherwise I visit this salon once a month and have in the past been very happy with the service. The reason for this review is that the personal service has declined in the last year. The girls are too rushed to get to the next customer which results in what I would call an express service. The nail polish selection has declined. Less OPI brands and the girls are trying to make do with what is remaining in the bottles on the shelf. My manicures chip and wear off within a few days and I end up doing a polish change at home in less than a week. I would think that these changes are more to do with business decisions-change over clientele every 30 or 40 minutes? The girls don't seem as happy either. They were always so friendly now they just chatter amongst themselves and from the tone of their voices the chatter is not friendly nor upbeat. I will try this salon one more time in hopes the business owners read this review and start taking care of their employees and clients and if no improvement will move on. read more

Would not recommend. Destroy your nails. Shellac is see through because of rushing and not enough coats. Don't listen to you about length/shape and don't fix it when you ask. Put tips on crooked. And you sit in the chair in silence for an hour. It's $45 for acrylic but you get what you pay for... Not going back read more

I've been here twice. Both times, they've taken me in at least half an hour past my appointment. The first time I had to sit there for 35 minutes to get one nail fixed while two of the employees chatted to each other and did each other's nails. I went here again with a friend last week. We had appointments for noon to get our nails done. Her appointment didn't start until 12:30 and mine didn't start until 12:45. So basically, there's no point in making an appointment here, they don't stick to it. Then, in the middle of my friend getting her nails done, the guy thought it was somehow okay to STOP and help someone else, who had just walked in. She sat there for fifteen minutes while he touched up the other girls nails then came back to her. This place as THE WORST customer service ever. read more
