I'm kicking myself right now because for the life of me I can't remember the name of the sandwich I ordered. It was a vegetarian one with melted cheese and lots of fresh veg. I'm not one to usually go for a veggie option, especially when there are other non-veg options, but I was really content with this sandwich. I ate it all and felt really satisfied after. Only issue here was really with the coffee. I got an iced latte and it was more coffee-flavored milk. Not particularly my favorite vibe but perhaps other options would be better! The general vibe of the cafe is very cute, and inclusive of dietary restrictions. During the week it was a great spot to work remotely, although I must say the AC can make it quite chilly so bring a cardigan! There were a lot of delicious looking pastries which I was eyeing but didn't get to try. Maybe next time!

After dropping off my USPS deliveries on weekend morning, I discovered this little cafe about 5 mins away and my boyfriend and I walked there. I was drawn to the two comfy looking armchairs by the window overlooking the street. The ambiance was very cozy, with plants and trendy wallpaper making it look very welcoming and memorable. We loved the breakfast sandwich and the breakfast bowl. We felt the portions are pretty large (though not to the portion of a diner) and so our bellies were full. The coffee was also pretty flavorful and not thin at all. And my boyfriend and I enjoyed the vintage armchairs with a vintage table while people watching, and we felt pretty calm and relaxed until the lunch crowd came in. Overall a nice find. I'd return to do some journaling if I lived closer to the neighborhood!

The Highlights- cozy neighborhood gem, healthy options I'm here all the time and have tired everything from the bowls(the two I posted are my fav) to the pastries to the drinks (ginger lemonade is a fav). Unfortunately I have to report is the second time finding hair in my food I'm hesitant to return Overall Experience: love the health conscious options and friendly employees that take time to get to know those who frequent. Hoping they can reconcile the hair issue

The service here is fast. I ordered a vanilla iced latte and got my drink in less than a minute. I had a cinnamon roll, which was vegan and tasted great. I was super impressed and will be back.

OMG I am going to miss living by this spot. They made living in this area 10x better. I am obsessed with the energy that this space and I wish I could have another one of these places in my next stomping ground. The workers there are so nice and friendly! And the food is even better!! Yes, the coffee is great, but the food is unique and vegan friendly! I hope to visit this place again whenever I am in the area.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon to grab brunch to go with my homegurl who lives around the corner. She raved about how good the food is so I knew I was in for a treat! I was a huge fun of just the aesthetics alone--plants every and soft hues of pink, green, and blue. I so miss indoor dining because I would've loved to have enjoyed my brunch right there. My friend ordered the Goldie Lox sandwich (Smoked Salmon, Pickled Egg, Avocado, Pickled Red Onion, Tomato, Greens, Mustard). I had the Salmon Toast (Smoked Salmon, Pickled Red Onion, Cream Cheese, Dill, Everything Spice, Capers). Mine was so good! I didn't even pause for air while eating. It vanished in under 2 minutes. I didn't want it to end. The dill and capers included in the mix made me so happy! Boy, can't I wait to go back and try everything else on the menu! It took me damn near 10 mins to order because I couldn't decide between a rice bowl or a sandwich. I'm just glad to have a new, cute cafe in Brooklyn to be excited about. Thanks for the hospitality, Chez Alex! See you soon!

I went with two friends so were able to try three different sandwiches and to be honest, they were all just alright. The food: Roast Pork Special- Fried Eggplant, Provolone, Broccoli Rob- The texture of the pork came off a bit dry, the eggplant was good but kinda gets lost in the sandwich so if I literally had it on it's own I would have appreciated it more but who eats fried eggplant by itself? The rob was nice it added a nice crunch but didn't offer that much flavor. Giuseppe Special- Eggplant parm, meatballs, melted mozzarella. I couldn't get over how soggy the bread was. It was like wet paper towel to me. Soggy bread and everything kinda tasting the same made it underwhelming. Nicky Special- It just tasted like salad in between bread. There was so much veg, that was the main thing I remember in that sandwich.

Real fresh, quality, homemade ingredients mixed in with passion and love for food with delightful twists on memorable sandwiches. There's a couple of tables in a small store. Above the register there's a menu board resembling a train departures board, cycling through the options (it looks neat, but the printed out menu on your right is a lot more practical). There's a cooler with drinks and salads as you enter on the right. The sandwiches, however, are something special. On my first visit I went with something familiar, the Mean Streets (their Italian sandwich). The bread itself is fantastic (locally baked), and the toppings delicious as well (if I recall correctly the dressings are house made). Pleasantly, they also give you a paper plate with your order, which is a nice touch compared to eating off a wrapper. I enjoyed the first sandwich so much I came back the next day to try the No Sleep Til Gravesend. The sandwich is essentially a hot roast beef sandwich, with a jus on the sandwich reminiscent of a French Dip. Perfect on a cold, rainy day. Overall, 1 of 1 has great (and mostly house made) ingredients and great execution. There's a level of creativity on the menu that you rarely see elsewhere in the city. 1 of 1 is among the best sandwich shops in the city, and a very welcome addition to the area.

Allow me to put it in perspective, this is gas station food on steroids. Located in Red Hook (and all it takes is to go outside and see you are in Red Hook), this nondescript bodega serves up one heck of a sandwich that will have you thinking, did I just eat that? This is not your ordinary New York bodega, this is the shop of General Ock, who sells various sandwiches in his renowned Ocky Way. So what is the Ocky Way? The Ocky Way is not just a sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and onions, it is also about presentation and style. The sandwich is made loudly with a flair for the dramatic, from the time your food hits the flat top to when it is center cut and put in a clamshell container. What about the food? It really is pretty good! I got the Chopped Cheese the Ocky Way and it was something I really enjoyed. I recommend you get it with the Jamaican Patty as that is what makes the flavors work best. You can also do it with a waffle or pancake or whatever bread you like. All you have to do is scarf it down. You can also put your own toppings on your sandwich if you want for an extra premium à la Farmer in the Deli style. Farmer in the Deli is another well known bodega in Fort Greene, known for finely chopping their meat into a sandwich, one I highly recommend as well.
