    String Bean over Rice
    Janice A.

Food portions were huge for the price you pay. Flavor was good. Not too salty. Came here for lunch before catching a flight and the food came out pretty quick all around the same time. Plenty of seating and the staff were pretty attentive. Street parking and garage parking across the street which isn't far. The only downside was the food to rice ratio was off. Way more rice than entree and the scrambled eggs? Where is the eggs? Was expecting a little more eggs than just the 1-2 eggs probably used to make the dish.

We usually go to the one in Millbrae but this was a good half way spot to meet a friend for dinner. The service is typical for a Chinese restaurant so don't be offended. We just ordered beef and tofu over rice and a 3 item bbq combo. Beef and tofu over rice 3/5: The beef was good and the tofu was soft but the portion was smaller than Millbrae's. 3 item bbq over rice 3/5: The pieces seemed a bit bony but overall it was all right. Nothing to special. Overall, this location doesn't have the greasy spoon feel the one in Millbrae does but the portions seemed a bit smaller. Could be my imagination tho!

Currently sitting as I write this. Wonderful food. Huge portions. Fast service. Although, one thing I will say is that we wish that we had a more of an attentive server. We had drank a lot of our water because it's was hot outside. We came in parched. We wish that the server came back around checked up on us to see if we needed anything and offered to refill our waters. A side from that we had wish they had a better variety of drinks. (They do not offer smoothies or boba tea beverages) The choices were very limited so we just stuck with water and hot tea. In all, the food was very delicious and such a huge portion. The food came out fast! Absolutely would come back here! Prices are very great especially for the portion.

Yingyang fried rice which is two color/flavor rice dish. I wasn't a fan of this here. Had better but their bbq is always good

Yingyang fried rice. I would only come here for their bbq rice plate. Never go wrong with that Quiet and clean

    Pan fried house noodle

Ordered the pan-fried house noodles and was shocked by the cheap, low-quality ingredients. Just look at the squid with full of tiny tentacles that make it look like scraps. Completely disappointed. The restaurant has really downgraded over time. Prices keep going up, but the food quality keeps going down. Definitely would not recommend.

    SASHIMI CHICKEN
    Steffi S.

SASHIMI CHICKEN!! I started buying soy sauce chicken from here since it's so close to my house. Usually, it's good and everything is fine, so that's why I go back. Recently, the last two times I bought my chicken from Cheung Hing, it is RAW. Not a little raw. SUPER RAW. I attached photos. They are more than half raw and still bloody. After the first time, I thought maybe they were just having an off day. But this second time, the chicken was even more raw. I had to microwave it repeatedly in order for it to be consumable for my family. My concern is that they are serving salmonella chicken. They might also be using the same knife to butcher these raw chicken, and if that's the case, I would be careful if you decide to order other meats from here.

We didn't plan to come here, but on a Saturday lunch Hing Lung next door was packed and Cheung Hing next door was quiet and empty, to save time, we settled in here. The menu posted outside has no price, but we were pleasantly surprised that the prices are reasonable. The interior was simple. There's a BBQ counter upon entry. The tables felt a little sticky. Service was quiet and not proactive, but not hard to get if you need something. After we finished, table and dirty plates were cleaned up quite quickly. Bbq rice plate is 13.99, not bad. Beef brisket Lo mein is also 13.99, good portions. They also give you an egg drop soup complementary but it's quite watery. I got smoked pan fry frog and it was quite tasty. Good heat from the wok and flavored strongly, but a lot of onions and not enough frogs. It's 20.99, not bad. Parking is horrible in this neighborhood.

Sad, sad, sad. How the mighty Cheung Hing has fallen. This used to be the place to go. They can't even get roast duck with wonton and noodles correct. The lady kept arguing with me that I didn't order the noodles. Thank goodness I did it through Yelp (which directed me to Grubhub). I showed her my screen, and she rolled her eyes and just dumped some noodles into the box after having me continue to wait. Horrible service. Small portions. The duck was meh and the wontons have no shrimp inside them.

Standout was definitely the Peking duck - super tasty, generous portions, and they prepared the duck 3 ways, including a delicious soup with the bones. You need to check in and let them know you arrived so they can put you in the queue to be seated. Even though we arrived at 6:45 we didn't get seated until 7:15 (aka no point in arriving early if you have a reservation). The Peking Duck is what they are famous for and deservedly so. It is so so good and the presentation is beautiful. Skin is crispy, meat is tender, wrappers are thin. They give you an option to have the Duck remains (bones and left over meat) to be made into a soup or stir fry and we opted for the soup. It was so clean and healthy tasting. One of the best places for Peking duck in the bay. A must try

I don't eat porridge often, usually when really under the weather so I'm fortunate to not gone to get some in a while. I called my pickup order since I didn't see an online option. The store front is Ichi Ramen so it's confusing in case you get lost in the busy plaza. I ordered shrimp, fish and plain porridge (congee) along with beef chow fun. 4 dishes total. Total came out to under $60 and it was a heavy bag! The porridge has a nice thick consistency without being runny. It had flavor to not need seasoning and surprisingly large portions of seafood. The chow fun was decent but I've definitely tasted better. Kinda pricy at $18 though the beef slices were big. I appreciated it wasn't as oily as other chow fun I've had so easy to eat without feeling kinda gross after. Solid value, good food, and worth a rec for porridge. All in all, I'd definitely return. 4.5 stars.

The friend Chinese donut was crispy and airy, slightly oily so fryer oil may have needed to be hotter and fry cook need to slow down and let oil temp recover. 5 stars - Genuine Northern Chinese Gem in Milbrae…read more I've been searching for years for a spot that does real Northern Chinese food without watering it down for the American palate, and New China absolutely delivers. The owners clearly know their stuff--Shandong style cooking shines through. We started with the pan-fried pork & chive dumplings (煎饺) -- thick, chewy wrappers with perfectly seasoned filling and that ideal crispy bottom. Not the thin-skinned Cantonese style; these are hearty and satisfying, just like what you'd get in the north. Their zha jiang mian (炸酱面) is outstanding--the fermented soybean sauce is rich and deeply flavored, loaded with ground pork, cucumber matchsticks, and bean sprouts. The noodles have that perfect al dente bite. It's the real deal, not the sweet Americanized version. We also got the cumin lamb skewers (孜然羊肉串) -- tender, intensely spiced with cumin, chili flakes, and sesame, grilled over real flame so they have that smoky char. And the sour cabbage stir-fried with glass noodles (酸菜粉丝) was spot-on: tangy, comforting, and full of that signature Northern balance of sour and savory. Excellent appetizers Portions are generous, prices are very reasonable for the quality, and the place has that no-frills, family-run feel that makes you feel like you're eating at someone's home kitchen. Service was friendly and quick, even when busy. If you're tired of the same old General Tso's and orange chicken everywhere, do yourself a favor and come here for authentic Northern Chinese flavors. This is now our go-to spot in Milbrae Highly recommend--will be back often!

This place is kind of a hole in the wall with its self proclaimed "Texas BBQ" and location. Parking can be tough if the parking lot is full, and I wish they picked a better spot to open this shop. It's off the beaten path for most Chinese restaurants in the area. The prices for BBQ aren't exactly cheap, however that can all be mitigated since they offer AYCE at a price starting at $35 a person with drinks. I love their lamb skewers and chinese hamburger. Lamb skewers were seasoned to how I expected them - with a spice mix mainly consisting of cumin. I also like how they include a fatty piece just before the last piece, which is They also offer spicy powder on the side that you can shake on your order to make it more spicy. The Chinese hamburger was very flavorful and authentic and very cheap for the price - much more value than ANY fast food restaurant and a lot healthier! We also ordered a liangpi and cumin chicken, both which were decent. This place offers very fair prices for chinese BBQ if you consider AYCE, since I have yet been to a chinese BBQ place that offers AYCE. Food comes out pretty quickly, and service is welcoming, especially if you're familiar with northern chinese hospitality. If you can look past the fading decor, colored utensils, and overall hole in the wall vibe, this place is actually pretty good if you're from northern china and looking for a homely vibe! Just don't expect Texas BBQ even if its in the name.
