I'll start off by saying, I'm glad I don't smoke. However, this place is really darling & cozy. The beautiful tall blonde working was such a sweetheart. I was so hungry and she let me try her food during her break. which I really appreciated because I hadn't planned on staying out til the countdown & I was hungry. I didn't want to make a rookie move, as they say during one of the biggest drink nights of the year. Streets were wet & tons of young people were flittering about getting loud as the beats got turned up downtown for the Palladium & Rancho Fresco. I met the owner and she is a lovely person too:) I wish we had a place like this for us non smokers in town. because I loved the chill vibe and coziness of all the vintage chairs & couches. but my poor eyes were burning by the time I left from the cigarette & cigar smoke. if you smoke and or don't have allergies to smoke... you need to go here!! hands down the sweetest comfiest bar downtown with lovely locals on both sides of the bar! oh.. I forgot... they popped open a bottle of champagne before the countdown and we all received a free glass to ring in the New Year! ....and don't forget to meet the owner...she is a joy & great host!

First time in. Fantastic place. We wanted to smoke after dinner & not only were all the regulars awesome but Katie our bartender " who is much more than that " was super friendly & made us feel like part of the tribe. Great drink recommendation for my girl & lots of jokes & smokes. Thank you we will be back again !

Let's start with the one "bad thing" there is not enough ventilation at this cigar lounge like in most other cigar lounges. Management please look into this. Location- CUTE area in downtown Modesto, plenty of parking outside and in the nearby garage in 11th Street. Inside- very prohibition vibe, recently I found out that they also own speakeasy club on 12th street they have the same vibe going in both locations This club is very cute, the lighting is dim to dark, the humidor is up to par, but they could use a slightly bigger selection The lockers are a great addition, I've never been to a cigar lounge with lockers Drinks - drinks are average in price, and a little too "watered" down but overall good. They adjust them when asked YOU CAN BRING YOUR OWN CIGARS!!! The service- we were treated fairly and respectful, it looked like there was only 1 person working. We will def. come here again

Championship Lifestyle,  Che'Root Lounge is a place you go if your desire is to be a part of something special. "Gina your are the best." E

Does this place have beer on tap and/or wine?

Are we able to bring our own cigars if we purchase drinks?

What's the age for entry? My cousin is active duty military personnel visiting from the academy and is over 18, but under 21. I'm wondering if I can bring him here for a smoke.

Because it is a bar (not a bar and grill), minimum age for entry is 21. Sucks that you can legally be a soldier before you can have a drink, but that's the law :(

This bar delivers on every level, and a huge part of that magic comes from Stephanie, who is hands-down one of the best bartenders you'll ever meet. Stephanie doesn't just make drinks, she creates them. Every cocktail is perfectly balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care and skill. You can tell she knows her craft inside and out, and it shows in every glass she serves. Whether you're ordering a classic or letting her surprise you, you're guaranteed something amazing. And the food? Unreal. Stephanie doesn't just shine behind the bar, she absolutely crushes it in the kitchen too. The in-house sauces she makes are next level, each one packed with bold flavor and clearly made from scratch. They elevate every dish and give the menu a homemade, high-quality feel that's hard to find these days. Honestly, everything on the menu is worth trying, but if nothing else, you have to get the chipotle chicken tacos. They are outstanding and alone are reason enough to come back again and again. Between the great atmosphere, incredible food, and Stephanie's unmatched talent with both drinks and dishes, The Boardroom isn't just a bar, it's an experience. Highly recommended.

Beautiful cocktails, can even make a non alcoholic cocktail taste like you're not missing out. And when you need a little food, they've got it. The sliders and potato wedges were exactly what we needed! Super fresh, three perfectly grilled sliders, all different, so full of flavor! The wedges with that crispy, curled edge.... soooo good! My date devoured the blackberry cheesecake, which is a special so get it when you can. Friday's bring fun DJs, fun enough that we started our night there, went to our commitment and came back to end our night with more music, great drinks and the most beautiful charcuterie board made by Stephanie who will not only become your friend but take care of you with only the best service of a five star restaurant! We can't wait to make this our Friday regular habit!

If you haven't experienced karaoke at Speakeasy, you're missing one of the most steadily growing…read moremusic rooms in town. Neil and Tristan have built something that feels intentional. It's not chaotic karaoke. It's not ego-driven. It's a room where singers are respected, the sound is dialed in, and the energy rises and falls naturally throughout the night. What I appreciate most is how they run the floor. Rotation stays fair. The mic levels are balanced. Adjustments are made when needed. They're paying attention -- and that matters when you care about your performance. I've watched the room swell to 60+ and ease down to a tight circle near closing, and both versions feel good. Big crowd? Electric. Smaller crowd? Intimate and locked in. That's leadership from the booth. And here's the exciting part: Starting Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 8PM, they're opening another karaoke night during the week. That tells you everything. They're not coasting. They're building. Opening a Tuesday gives local singers another space to sharpen their craft, support a venue that supports them, and bring life into a traditionally slower night. That's good for the performers and good for downtown. If you're someone who: * Likes clean sound * Appreciates organized rotations * Wants to sing without drama * Or just wants a solid midweek night out Put Tuesday at 8PM on your calendar. Order a pizza--pepperoni or cheese--they are delicious. Neil and Tristan are doing it the right way -- steady growth, real community, and a stage that feels earned. I'll be back.

Looking at the exterior, we could only guess what was coming. Walking in just after opening gave us opportunity to marvel over the beautifully appointed interior without bothering yet to arrive lunch customers. After perusing the menu, which we had somewhat studied pre decision to dine here, our waiter Matteo filled in item by item our understanding of the many menu options. With his help and suggestions we four decided to share two "starters" - the whipped feta - half classic and half smoky. Both were delicious! We chose the 4 piece Bruschetta with a suggested cheese added. It too rang the delicious bell. We picked paninis for our main course: Flank steak, French dip and Prosciutto & Fig Jam. Each would be served with a side salad - either Spinach or Spring. We all chose Spinach. The sandwiches were full of the components as described. My wife's Prosciutto & Fig Jam had prosciutto from end to end countering a review to the contrary I had read. The other paninis were likewise filled. The Spinach side salads were loaded with walnuts and cranberries. The amount of feta was adequate. the total amount of salad was more than I expected. My wife ordered a dessert to go, and just reported to me that was superb. We had to forgo any wine with lunch as we had miles to drive home afterward. But I await the day we can spend the night in town and enjoy some selections of their impressive wine stock and not have to drive home. A Friday evening comes to mind. It must happen so we can try out more items of their well chosen fare. A couple of the pokes look scrumptious and a few more of the paninis await my gastric juices. We were pleasantly surprised by Damon bringing us a complimentary Chocolate Panini served with house made whipped zcream (who even serves that these days?) He said that we HAD to try his #1 selling item from the whole menu before we left. We tasted, and learned why it had reached that status. Good in appearance. Perfect in creation, Superb in taste. Kudos by the bucketful to Damon, Matteo, and the rest of the staff who helped this Birthday Bash be warm & fuzzy and highly enjoyed. If you haven't yet. I suggest you put Camp 4 on your high priority list and enjoy the experience as I'm sure you will. We sure did!
