I recently replaced my appliances as part of a kitchen renovation. I was originally thinking I would buy from a box store, but once I walked in to Cherin's I knew this was the place. All they do is sell appliances, instead of appliances being one of a thousand types of products they sell. As such Raul was super helpful and knowledgeable, he gave me multiple great recommendations. From what I could tell, the prices are pretty much the same everywhere, and it's a pleasure to support a local family run business. My kitchen reno ended up taking much longer than expected, and that was not a problem. Cherin's held the appliances for months without issue. I am not sure that other stores would have been so accommodating. And because it took so long, there was an issue with the rebate for buying several appliances from one brand. Cherin provided the total project cost, including the appliance, but not the site-modification cost. So I asked Cherin for clarification. Cherin never responded. In the 5 minutes I talked to someone, I was 1) accused of lying about the price at another store (I was not) , 2) told I was in the wrong for calling around for price comparisons, 3) not given a straight answer about cost of delivery even though I gave him all details of the path from the door (it was up to me to figure out if my delivery qualified for free delivery because the union had "rules" ( sorry dude but you're more familiar than I am ). They also personally know their installers (e.g., my ice maker) which is a plus. I thought I'd try Home Depot and the other big box stores to save some money (not much); there is no one to talk to and they don't install the ice maker. I needed to replace my defective Samsung refrigerator because it wasn't keeping my food fresh and the icemaker was leaking. (Samsung refused to do anything about it.) I didn't have a lot of room so my choices were limited. They recommended a Fisher and Paykel. I had never owned anything by that brand but it did have exactly what I wanted (stainless, interior ice maker, exterior water dispenser, freezer on bottom). At first we thought that it would have to be backordered but a customer canceled an order and I was able to nab it. The store referred me to a delivery service and that went very smoothly. They were on time and very careful. They also hauled away my old defective fridge. Overall, a great experience. They also have a small parking lot which is very convenient. read more

I have purchased all of my kitchen appliances here: dishwasher, oven, and washer/dryer. The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. For my most recent purchase, a combination washer/dryer, I went into the store asking for one that I had seen in a friend's house, made by LG. The salesman told me straightaway that they do not sell LG products because LG does not offer service for their appliances in the USA. I thought that that was a good reason to shift my search from LG to another brand. I gave the salesman my space parameters and he found a GE machine that filled the bill. I paid for it on the spot. The salesman told me it would take two weeks to get to me, and that is exactly what happened. He also recommended an excellent service for the installation. All in all, it worked out well. Truth be told, you will more than likely pay more here than you would at Best Buy, Lowe's, or Home Depot, but for me, it is totally worth it to support a locally owned business that has excellent follow-through on whatever they sell. read more

They were extremely professional and helped me find a new refrigerator (my goal) but never got back to me in a timely manner. The biggest reason why I'm marking this review as two stars is because of my poor experience with their contracted delivery/installation vendor (Apogee Delivery & Installation). Like most new home owners, I wanted the best quality appliances for my new home. I bought the Asko washer and dryer set in 2019 and a year before I bought a GM fridge from them. I was happy with the service until yesterday..... My Asko washer lost its control and parts started to flow out and the entire washer was smashing against the two walls on each side for like 10 minutes. I thought it would catch on fire and almost called 911. Thank goodness it didn't. I called them today and asked for my receipt and asked for sales assistance because I was told Asko my best choice when it comes to washer & dryer. I wanted to know why would they recommend me something that almost caught on fire in my condo 3 years after my purchase. The lady on the phone said once you bought anything from us. It's between you and the manufacturer. There is nothing they can do about it. My advice for you all shoppers! It's better to find appliance store that will give you honest recommendations. Maybe these fancy brands don't really worth the extra because pricing is just another sale strategy to make you believe it's better quality. read more

Cherin's delivery and installation is half the reason to shop at Cherin's! They sell good products and their delivery and installation people are top notch! My uncle had a dishwasher installed a couple of years ago from a different company. The technician that installed the last dishwasher took a long time and told us that it was a very complicated job because the plumbing was so old. My uncle wasn't fond of the dishwasher and bought a Bosch dishwasher from Cherin's. It turned out, the difficulties with installation had nothing to do with the plumbing. The technician simply wasn't trained properly. Juan Lopez,who delivered the new Bosch dishwasher from Cherin's, was very knowledgeable. He said there was nothing wrong with the house plumbing but that the other technician had installed the previous dishwasher incorrectly. Juan was able to quickly remove the old dishwasher and install the dishwasher in 1/3 the time that it took the other technician. He made sure that the dishwasher was straight by using a level and checked that the dishwasher ran through the test cycles not once but twice. He also walked us through the product and how to use it correctly and how to clean and maintain it. While he was checking to make sure that it was properly installed and wasn't leaking, I mentioned that I was worried about the water pressure in the kitchen being too low for the dishwasher to operate. (I had recently been told by the plumber that installed the faucet a couple of months ago that there was a problem with the angle stops and the back of the cabinet would need to be cut to improve the water flow.) Juan looked at it and fixed it in literally two seconds. My low water flow was normal. I couldn't believe it! I was so impressed by Juan! Based on that experience, I can't recommend Cherin's enough. They hire good people, who are very knowledgeable, hardworking and committed to making sure their products are installed correctly! Thank you Juan! You've made our lives so much easier! read more

We purchased a new set of kitchen appliances from Cherin's including a fridge, range, hood, and microwave drawer for our home remodel. We chose Cherin's based on a recommendation from our builder/contractor as well as wanting to support a local business. Overall we had no issues during the buying process and appreciated the chance to see and discuss new appliances at their store. Unfortunately our problems came when we finally received our appliances and got them installed. Our newly installed Thermador microwave drawer would turn on but not heat up any food (basically dead on arrival). We have to push against the microwave door in order for it to even heat food. We contacted Cherin's to let them know based on the advice of our contractor. I've been frustrated with a lack of support, empathy, and very slow response despite our appliance being considered dead on arrival by our contractor (who came over to confirm installation was proper). Cherin's website claiming they "help you get it right the first time" but they barely reply or get back to you. I later was told that I need to work with Thermador directly to try and repair this before they can exchange the microwave but Thermador can not send someone until over a month since I initially contacted them. I do not recommend Cherin's if you are looking for the assurance that your brand new appliances will be working or expect to get help if it is not. You may be left on your own to try to resolve things and spend months without a functional appliance. read more

Bought a new Thermador 4-burner gas range at Cherin's in 2019. (Thanks to their patient and freely given assistance, did extensive pre-purchase comparison shopping of alternatives before deciding Thermador.) The stove's been great. A few weeks ago its broiler igniter gave out, replacement needed, I undertook do-it-yourself. Temporary removal of oven door is a step of it. All went fine until time to put the oven door back: turns out there are non-obvious details of door hinge prep for putback that I didn't have. I read the manuals, talked to Thermador support, searched youtube; still stuck. Finally called Cherin's and Michael suggested - come into the store, we'll look at a Thermador floor model together, we'll go over oven door takeoff and putback. I did so, he showed me the "trick" I was missing (would never have found it on my own). Had the door back on 5 minutes after returning home. What a superlative customer service experience. I was looking to replace my aged oven/microwave and cooktop with new appliances. I did a lot of checking online and then went to Cherin's. Jared, the sales associate there, was excellent. He was deeply knowledgeable about the choices and made good recommendations that fit my needs while offering competitive prices. After I ordered the pieces he recommended an installer. Then, when that installer was too busy, he recommended a second installer who did an excellent job. After the oven was installed, there was a problem with the fan. Initially- a great and very helpful experience ordering an exhaust hood... Then it went down hill Hood arrived damaged... they replaced it and their installer put it in (after we had to have someone else prep area to their specifications- not explained clearly) The installer crammed in the stainless steel panel duct over (over the hood) and had to bend with his pliers leaving noticeable marks behind. He even said..."we will get you a new one- this isnt fitting- I will call Dean (salesman)" He even took a photo. I followed up with an email, then another amd another. I left several messages with other staff, my husband called as well. Nothing.. no response for weeks. Finally on a Saturday Dean answered the phone amd was beyond rude when I questioned why all the silence on their end. Completely speaking over me and wanted nothing to do with just replacing the $200 cover and installing more carefully. I was very upset by the unpleasant conversation and said i see this will not get resolved ill take my business elsewhere- then conceded and said he would reach out to installer. Still nothing... more messages and emails left unanswered. We even tried installer.. no response. Very very disappointed and awful follow up- We will buy our new viking stove elsewhere. read more

They seem knowledgable in the products they are selling. No pressure tactic or push toward a particular brand. Their pricing is inline with other stores (read price control by the manufacturers) so it comes down to services and delivery. The big chain store no longer provides free delivery and haul away of your broken appliance. I was looking for a washer and they had the brand as well as having it in stock. I was quoted $75 for delivery and setup. Went ahead with the purchase thinking it was the Cost of the washer, tax and delivery. I was told the invoice would be emailed to be later in the day. The next day I called to confirm whether the order was placed as I had not gotten a receipt/invoice by email. The salesperson stated he would look for it and email it. Later in the day I get the invoice. It was different from what I was quoted. They added two hoses for the washer that was $26 as well as they include taxing the delivery/setup charge. So my total cost was higher than what I was expecting. I didn't get the receipt till the day before delivery otherwise I may have cancelled it. Get you total cost before scheduling delivery. The delivery workers were awesome and I would give them 5 stars. read more

I was told two fridges would be delivered to a large property-Apartment Building-and they not only brought one but didn't bother to put handles on fridge-too lazy to follow my advanced directions ! What happened to other fridge. I was told delayed but yet when i ordered both were in stock! Obviously they may have given to someone else! Finally a week later got the fridge to find out window if time 12-5 comes at 4 pm damaged! So off they go to another job and the boss made them come back with a new fridge! We first visited Cherin's about two years ago. At that time we were planning for a complete kitchen remodel in San Francisco but it went south (no pun intended) and we decided to move to San Diego instead. As we need a new dishwasher, I started investigating here in San Diego but was unable to find the kind of support I expect. Salespeople simply look stuff up online. Well I can do that! So I decided to contact Cherin's since they had been so helpful prior. I reached Dean, and first asked him if I could buy the appliance from them and have it shipped to San Diego. But there is a problem with warranty and repair coverage areas so I couldn't. Still, he agreed to answer my questions which was extremely nice of him. He certainly did not have to do that and I kept my questions short as a result. Still, he gave me more information than I even asked for and was just completely helpful and kind. YAY DEAN! This is probably the best appliance store that I've ever visited so if you're in San Francisco and you need an educated selection for your home, please contact these guys. I just wanted to give a shout out to Alex and Juan for helping me through the laundry dilemma I was going thru in my unit. Alex guided me through the limited options that were available to me for my very challenging space in my flat. Juan came by to survey the space beforehand to make sure the new laundry center I purchased would fit with gas lines, etc. I make this sound really easy, but it caused a lot of angst. All in all, the appliance itself was competitively priced. Both Alex and Juan were very responsive throughout the process. I did have to pay for the survey and for the complicated installation, delivery, recycling - as you do with everyone else. It was not cheap. But had to happen. There's no way I would've made it across the finish line with a big box store. I'd probably be stuck with the wrong appliance sitting in my garage. Cherin's problem solved, and I am happy. read more
