Came here during lunch for our first stop on our Arizona trip. Has a nice barbecue-joint vibe but not as casual (in a good way). Our server, Kimberly, was delightful--so sweet and personable. We got the deviled eggs to start which had good flavor and my table enjoyed them but I'm personally not a fan of a relish-based yolk (I like it smooth!). The caeser salad was good not great, could have used a little more dressing and I was also expecting the chicken to be a little different but that's on me--I was told it was going to be rotisserie chicken and it was exactly that. The chicken sandwich was incredible, good amount of spice, nice and crispy, but still juicy. The short rib tacos were a hefty portion and fantastic. Alright... I don't like leaving three stars or anything lower than that because I know how important reviews are for businesses. But I'd have to say I was disappointed with the lack of flavor in food here... the drinks were also not good. My friend ordered the chicken and I ordered a burger, for the prices we both felt that we overpaid... it felt a little bland, and nothing out of the ordinary. I'm giving them a three because their staff is very nice, and the vanilla ice cream was amazing. My friend and I both questioned if the vanilla was that good or if it was just the lack of flavor in everything else that made the ice cream taste that delicious. We had our Quarterly Team Lunch at Chelsea"s Kitchen. Have dined here several times over the years. All I can recall was the valet parking, which I always viewed as a choice. Pleasantly surprised no valet parking , it's still pretty hot out in Phoenix in September. We had nine people in our party. The service was exceptional. We had the deviled egg app, chips with salsa with guacamole. The deviled eggs had bacon bits and were a hit. I had the green chile burger with a garden salad as an entree. Ended up not being a hand held but was none-the-less a great burger. Place is clean, prices were reasonable. The press coffee was also an excellent choice. Saw lots of to go boxes and happy faces. We really love this place. The decor is lovely with kind of a formal country look to it. When you first walk in you can see into a kitchen, which I love. There is patio seating as well, with a great patio with an outdoor fireplace there is bar seating outside as well as inside. Out front you can see the area where they do the smoking. They don't take reservations for small parties, but we timed it just right and got a table right away. Our server was so nice, and the servers all seem to help each other out as there were other servers bringing drinks and, later on, extra tortillas and boxes. Everything comes out pretty fast, too. We started with a couple of drinks. Hope you got the Thunderbird (I think that's the name of the drink?) and I got a white sangria. For a starter we had the cornbread. Can you say fantastic? It was so delicious and just the right texture. I would eat that everyday if I could! It was so hard to stop eating it to leave room for dinner. Hubby got the green chili burger. I tried it, and it was soooo Good. It had a huge piece of grilled green chili and the burger was cooked just to order, medium rare, which someplace else won't do. It was juicy and delicious. It came with a side of fries that are slightly sweet because of the brown sugar in the seasoning. I ordered the short red tacos, which come deconstructed. There was some very tender short rib ( The server said about 8 oz ), a scoop of guacamole, a scoop of pico de gallo, and some Chipotle salsa. There was a side of kale slaw - - I normally don't care for it, but this kale slaw was super yummy. The best part were the house-made corn tortillas... Some of the best I've ever had! They were happy to bring me more, too! If you haven't been to Chelsea's kitchen, you really need to put this one on your list. From the lovely decor, The great service, and the delicious food, this one is a winner! NOTE: There is complimentary valet parking, which can be nice; however, we pulled into the parking lot and The guys from the valet company were using the disabled parking for regular cars. My husband has a handicap plate for an issue with walking, and he could not park there. We did find a really good self park spot very close, which worked out really well for us, but maybe those spots should be left open for those who need it and just to be ADA compliant. read more

Everything about my Chelsea's kitchen experience was amazing! From the moment I arrived, the complementary valet was so attentive, and Blake explained to me exactly how it worked and helped me get my twins out of the car. He was helpful and efficient, and when picking up my car, he came to help me with my things before going in retrieving my car. Our server, Philip was a huge highlight to our dinner. He was personable and funny and gave great suggestions. Anytime you need a happy server who seems very genuine, it's like a breath of fresh air! Super grateful for him and his attention to detail as we had two people at our table with a lot of dietary restrictions. He was helpful and congenial. A brussels sprout salad is my go to almost anywhere that offers one, and I'm so glad I stuck to that! Some may say it's just a salad, but this was the best salad I think I've ever had in my life. The ratios were perfect and I chose chicken And was given the option of dark or white. The smoke on the chicken was incredible, and the salad alone would've been great without it, but it was definitely better with it. The chocolate mousse cake, absolutely amazing. Not too dark paired perfectly with the pistachio gelato! We had the privilege of sitting outside and it was so comfortable, but also beautiful and dreamy. Firstly, the self parking is never there and one has to do valet parking which can be a nuisance as so many cars back up when one is exiting. They need to provide better parking. Crab Tostadas were standard but the crab mix had a certain distinct flavor which was not there earlier. Maybe they changed the recipe. The Branzino sandwich was good although the fish is too soft to hold on to a brioche bun. The bun is on the sweeter side so not sure if it all came together in taste with the condiments, aioli and pickles?? They were complementary cookies at entrance which were very yummy. read more

Loved the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. The patio is absolutely beautiful. The staff is so attentive and responsive.

Hadn't been here in about 15 years. Met some friends who got there before us and got a seat on the patio. Love the atmosphere out there so much! The trees have grown so mature and provide a complete canopy over the entire patio. It took a few minutes before somebody came over to our table to get our drink orders. When our server arrived, she almost seemed annoyed. We weren't quite ready to order food so she took our drink requests and we and asked her to come back in a few minutes for the food order. I ordered the Thunderbird cocktail which was delicious. My issue was that the glass was barely half full and it had a large ice cube taking up most of the space. It was only about four sips worth of drink for $16. We put in food orders, and my husband ordered the French dip and I had the crispy chicken sandwich. My husband said his sandwich was just OK, and my crispy chicken sandwich was soggy, not crispy, the chicken was extremely dry, and the only flavor it had was the spicy coleslaw which was heaped on the sandwich and wasn't very good. The french fries were good and crispy, which I enjoyed. During dinner, I drank my entire glass of water and desperately needed more. Our server never circled back with us to see how our meal was or to see if we needed anything. I finally managed to flag her down and she brought more water but with that scowl again. She also touched the top of every glass at our table with the water pitcher which is a big no-no. Gross. I don't understand why servers continually do this. Finally, when she brought the bill, she cracked a tiny smile. Sorry, too late for that. With the booming Phoenix restaurant scene being what it is, we probably will not return here again. QUICK UPDATE: The management reached out to me as soon as this review was posted. They were concerned and wanted to learn more about our experience there. They were very apologetic and wanted to send us a gift card which I declined, as we would like to go back and give it another try on our own without a GC enticing us back. They went out of their way to credit our meal on our credit card, which was totally unnecessary but appreciated. We will definitely circle back and give them a try again. This place had a very upbeat atmosphere when you just walk in. We were able to yo get seated quickly and super accommodating to a baby one of our friends brought. The parking lot was small but you can do complimentary valet! Bring some cash so you can tip them The server was super friendly! The food was bomb!! The filet mignon was delicious! Cooked perfectly and great flavor. The corn bread also was addicting. They have green chile throughout creating a blast of flavor! My wife got the ribeye tacos and yes... they were as good as they sound! One thing to add is we got sparkling water and they brought out chilled glasses which was a really nice touch! What a cute hidden gem this place is! It's tucked away overlooking the canal and it's outdoor patio is both sunny and shady with cute little birds, greenery and flowers everywhere. String lights crisscross the patio (which I'm sure looks great at night!) and attached to a nice big wood-burning fireplace that is sure to warm everyone up in the evenings. The parking lot is small, so they have complimentary valet and even with three guys working, it was still a short wait. They are friendly and the weather is nice, so who cares about waiting a bit? We were immediately greeted by our server and her trainee with water and straws. To start, we ordered the chips and guac which also comes with a tangy salsa. There are two types of chips included: a thinner less salty chip that it perfect for the salsa and a heartier, saltier chip that meshes perfectly with the quac. Both are great with either the guac or salsa or on their own. Next, we ordered lunch. My wife got their soup of the day, which was a vegetable soup and paired it with their Brussels Sprout Salad (if you've read my other reviews, then you know perfectly well where I think Brussel sprouts should go - yep, the trash!). Anyhoo, she said both were good and my son tried both and liked them both. That's 2-to-1 in their favor, so I'll give it to them. So any of you reading this, the Brussels Sprout Salad was good and so was their vegetable soup. My son and I both ordered their Prime Rib French Dip with green chilies. horseradish cream aioli and he got his loaded with other fixings. I was fine with the prime rib, horseradish cream aioli, cheese and bread. There was a nice dipping tureen of au jus and was complimented with some reach good fries. As a sidebar, everywhere you go in Arizona, the waitstaff ask if you want ketchup OR ranch. That's awesome. The waitstaff has been clearly trained correctly in this state as not everybody (see: ME) likes ketchup. I'm a ranch fan all the way. Ketchup just robs the flavor from everything it touches and replaces it with its own sugary sweet tomato crap. Okay, I'm off my soapbox. Anyway, the sandwich was fantastic! The bread was toasted nicely, the horseradish cream aioli was thickish, but not oily, provolone cheese melted nicely and the prime rib was a nice medium-rare. The au jus soaked into the bread nicely but didn't saturate it, letting us pick up our sandwiches without them falling apart in soggy messes. The green chili peppers were a nice addition giving the sandwich a nice little kick - unless you inadvertently bit down on some of the seeds - and then that little kick was a much larger kick. Regardless of the size of the kick, the sandwich was pretty damn good and well worth checking out when visiting. There were several items on the menu that sounded great and I wished I lived there as Chelsea's Kitchen would be a frequent visit for us. Since I live in Chicago, I'll have to wait to go when I return, or implore them to open a location near me. read more

My partner and I were pleasantly surprised by Chelsea's. The pleasant surprise being a lot of menu items are gluten free. My partner tried Santa Fe style eggs and he really enjoyed it and I got the lemon ricotta pancakes and they were soft and flavorful. We noticed a wonderful smoked meat smell filling the air and our waiter confirmed our suspicions that Chelsea's dinner menu is incredible. Will be returning soon. read more

Absolutely favorite place in the valley to have dinner or brunch! Great for date night, celebrations. Drinks are delicious always along with the food! Service is always good as well, always friendly and welcoming. This has got to be one the best restaurants in the Valley. We had a party of 13 and Tanner was the server for us all. What a pro and what a personality! The ordering was done on a handheld, so the order went right to the kitchen as it was taken. Food came out hot, super fresh and delicious. This is the fourth time I've been there and have gotten brunch once and then the other three times the short rib tacos with homemade tortillas. One of my friends got the Branzino sandwich HUGE and I will definitely be getting that next time. The fries had an amazing sweetness with homemade ranch. Everyone loved their food. I visited with friends for dinner and we were seated on the back patio. They have a bunch of misters and it actually felt pretty cool considering it was 100+ degrees. The food and service are unmatched. Our waiter was super helpful and attentive. I ordered swordfish tacos and they were incredible. Everyone in my party was more than satisfied with their meal. They have an awesome patio out back. The service was quick and super polite. I went with a group of 5 and we got a table with ease. No need for reservations-which is great for a non planner like me. I probably won't go often though, it's expensive. The only reason for 4 stars is that it is pretty expensive for good American food but it isn't fine dining and they have fine dining prices. Last time I mentioned that the service was professional but not particularly friendly. This time the server/bartender was very warm and friendly. I sat in the exact same chair as prior visit. No reservation. Just took a seat at the bar. This time I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. Delicious. Good quality chicken. Super crispy. Apples in the sandwich was a perfect compliment flavor-wise and made it unique. I loved it. I also had a couple drinks and they were great. My first time after hearing raves. First, mandatory valet which I don't like but that is my issue, just be prepared. Very limited beer selection, which is surprising tbh. My wife had to send her mixed cocktail back because it wasn't made right. Food was good, the French dip and green chili stew was pretty good. Outdoor seating was fun as it fit in well with winter weather here. I really liked the wood stove and the heaters did well to keep people warm. On our first visit one early afternoon my wife ordered a fantastically prepared White Sangria and I a Grey Goose Martinia, extra dry. She went for the Grilled Ora King Salmon which she found tasty, moist - outright very, very good. I went for the Blackened Hawaiian Swordfish Taco platter - their style of grilling and wood made them absolutely fab. Came here for a Gemini birthday brunch and was super stoked to try a new spot! Parking was limited, so if you aren't lucky enough to catch someone as they are leaving, you will have to use valet. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I love the Open kitchen! Superb staff who attended to our group of about 18 and truly catered to my birthday friend! Since I hadn't been here before, I was really thankful for the Yelp pictures from past guests! My chosen brunch meal was the short rib tacos and a prickly pear margarita! Both were excellent! This is not like it used to be . Food was awful. They made my med rare hamburger twice, both times med well, so I switched to salmon. It was Ok, nothing great . Friend had a burger with beans and it was inedible. What used to have a wait line, now you could walk right in. It was almost empty. Maybe new owners! If not they need new management. They only have valet parking, and couldn't park my manual transmission car, so I had to park my own car in valet. The food was overpriced for everything. I don't mind paying the price if the quality is worth it. But the burger buns were thin and fell apart two bites in. The filet mignon was dry and flavorless. I got it medium, so I don't understand how they still managed to make it dry. It was gamey and hard to chew. The presentation was probably the only thing good about the food. I would rate it 4/10.
