If you are looking for a true local restaurant in the sea of chains that is Palmdale Chelly's is the place. They have a great breakfast. They make their own hash and jelly. I found this place on yelp so my bf and I decided to try it. For a Saturday, there was no waititme although it was pretty busy. They have great service and everyone helps out everyone. Been coming here for a year since first seeing this on Yelp. This is not fancy food, this is true blue homemade from scratch comfort food. Chelly and Sal treat you like family. This is food my mother made. The salsa is amazing and the french toast with walnuts and bananas are yummy. My husband loves the eggs beny. Like I said, this is homemade comfort food at its best. Its always been good, eventhough there had been just 2 times service was a lil off, but that is to be expected with a busy place from time to time. The food is always tasty. We've passed by Chelly's Cafe many times going to other places in the AV. Our friends invited us to breakfast, and we were not disappointed. The service was fantastic, and our server was very friendly and attentive. We had a variety of breakfast items, and they all were delicious. The meals were prepared quickly and arrived hot. Everyone at the table enjoyed their breakfast, and we look forward to going back again and again. I would give it 5 stars but there were some instances where the waiter would forget things I asked for (more creamer, syrup, ketchup, etc.) but overall a great atmosphere & friendly staff. Small on the inside so it may be a bit of a wait but worth it for good breakfast. My husband and I enjoy coming when we are in the AV visiting family since we do not live out there, but I always look forward to coming in. First time here this morning. I placed an order via phone sounded very busy i and the caller couldn't hear each other clearly. As I arrived a gentleman was quick to ask If I would be staying or to go I informed him I was there for a pick up he told me to go to the side and they will help me there. I go to the side kindly and smile at a lady she looks at me from head to toes as she was drinking her water and then asked me if I needed anything. After making me feel awkwardly uncomfortable I told her I was here for a pick up she asked for my name and just turned around and started packing my order. After receiving this type of service first impression very unimpressed it takes a bad employee to dull the business. Food was good but I will continue going to Alice burgers for breakfast. I would rate lower but the stars are for the hardworking employees that kept the service going and for the decent food I had. read more

Did a search for new breakfast places and this joint came up. I was worried about the wait on a Saturday morning after 9am...but when we got there they sat us right away. Serve was was quick and good was great. I got the guadalajara skillet while my husband got the French toast combo both under $9. Both were plenty of food. Great atmosphere, busy but not too noisy. I would definitely recommend this place. Wow! Can't believe all the bad reviews! We have had breakfast here several times and thought it was really good, muffins are kinda fab. In a sea of "Tom's" type breakfast food, Chelly's is by far superior - every table was full! I think the staff works very hard to make sure you are happy, and my iced tea glass was never empty! Great food, great service...prices for the portion are unreal! We always take half home. Trying something different everytime I go. Today I tried the Cajun Chicken Sandwich on a French Roll - I always hesitate to order chicken in restaurants because its so easy to dry out. Not here! It was so juicy and tender and the seasoning was perfect, just enough kick (so good with a side of ranch). And the carrot muffins are incredible. It did not look like any machaca I have ever had. The beans were flavorless. They advertise a "very hot" salsa that did not even give me a tingle and was as flavorless as the beans. I have never been in a restraunt where I felt at home before. I met Chelly over a yr ago when my friend and I stumbled across her cafe. As soon as i walked in i was greeted and treated like a long time friend. Chelly impressed me with not only her AMAZING food but also her sweet personality. I have NEVER eaten breakfast so good and with so much quality. Chelly herself bakes all her muffins, makes fresh salsa, fresh squeezed orange juice and jams!!! The pineapple apricot jam was to die for in the grits. The cooks come out and helps seat if its busy and they also have good kind personalities. I am so thankful Chelly opened her cafe, the AV is a tough place more businesses could learn a thing or two from her. I could just see it in her eyes that she is doing what she loves and she treats every customer the same. BTW don't leave without taking home a muffin or 10, you'll thank me later when you eat it and your mouth does a happy dance lol :) read more

We go to Chelly's for breakfast and we love going there. They have great service and delicious food. Their Artichoke, feta, spinach and sun-dried tomato scramble is so good. My husband loves their "Howie Special". It is a fruit and whip cream covered waffle. It is huge and filling and delicious!
