I honestly have never been as impressed with a restaurant as I was with Chef Warren's tonight. We walked in on a busy night and every single staff member went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We are new to the community and Chef Warren's has been recommended by almost every person we have met. The food was impeccable. However, it was the amazing service from every staff member who made us feel like we were their only client (despite being incredibly busy) that set the night apart. We will be back soon. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our anniversary dinner. The friendly and professional staff took excellent care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Our meals, the filet and short ribs, did not disappoint. Luckily, we saved room for the pecan pie with ice cream because it was delicious. Multiple staff members wished us Happy Anniversary. They had festive sprinkles on the table prior to our arrival, put a candle in our dessert, and presented us with a plate of chocolate and a hand-written message. First and foremost, I would most definitely return!!! I was there w 2 other folks from work. 1. We ordered the Mussels and the Kangaroo loin. Both were amazing and well prepared and presented. 2. I ordered the duck w fois gras sausage. Presentation was outstanding. Was a little disappointed though. Was expection a crispy skin for the duck. The sauce was super sweet and way too much on the plate. The sausage was perfect! The blend of spices and the actual fois gras was great (I hate liver btw!) but I would eat that a hundred times over! 3. The dessert (I got the pecan pie) OMG was out of this world! We all had different cocktails and wine and they were all preparedvery well. Keith was our server and he did an amazing job as well. Cant wait to return! Chef Warren's has always been one of our favorite restaurants. We went there to celebrate my birthday last night, and I'm sorry to say the food was just not up to expectations. I had the mahi special, and the fish was overcooked and tasted "fishy". My husband and brother in law had the schnitzel, and they said it was dry and tough. I understand the restaurant has changed hands, so apparently the new chef cannot replicate the dishes properly. In addition, the entree choices were very limited. First, the food is impeccable and the atmosphere more than welcoming. I started with the Winter Solstice cocktail (pictured). Had the Kangaroo medallions appetizer and the foie gras terrine appetizer (pictured). Both were phenomenal. The terrine was recommended by our server, Daphne. Daphne was an absolute gem of a person. Very attentive and personable. Marianne, one of the owners, came by and personally greeted us and made recommendations on food and the wine pairing. We had the duck breast. It was cooked perfectly medium rare. It also came with a foie gras- based sausage. Never had anything quite like it. Very tasty, but definitely far more savory than a "regular" sausage/bratwurst. Recommended wine paired great. Did not have room for dessert, but Daphne recommended the flourless white chocolate cake. They also have a nice selection of after dinner drinks. Our first meal here was our Anniversary dinner. It seems that reservations are definitely required. The service was very good. It seemed that the entire staff knew it was a special occasion and many wished us a Happy Anniversary - wow, so nice! The seating is very close along the wall; you can clearly hear your neighbor's conversations. Of every dish we ordered, two were memorable; the featured chestnut soup; my husband liked it but I couldn't eat it. I thought it had a strange flavor & very "earthy". He ordered a meal with lamb sausage which he wouldn't eat, it was very gamey. With two glasses of wine and one dessert our bill was $205 (for two) after tip. We don't plan to return. read more

And also the appearance of the restaurant feels a bit misleading as the people try to make it look like a fancy restaurant but it's not all that fancy looking to be honest. Overall I wouldn't recommend going to this restaurant if you're interested in fine dining, but if your want fine dining I would recommend you go to RH Rooftop Restaurant as it is just the best of the best. read more

We LOVE! This place~ every time we are in town we visit. We have brought customers from all of the World... and they enjoy it much the same. Yes, reservations are tight, sometimes they can't accommodate larger groups... especially during High Season in Pinehurst . Food is delicious : with so many layers. The Ambiance is a smaller, even more Romantic theme. The service is warm and welcoming~ Mary Ann always keeps a keen eye on the dining room as to times and entrees coming in and out. Even with an American twist, it is at its best...meh. -The snails were overly pungent with lemon and garlic. This made sense considering the number of geriatric patrons the establishment caters to. -If you're going to name an establishment after yourself, you'd better be able to back it up. Don't claim "French" if you can't cook French. (I'm Parisian. Not Canadian- the real deal. Are you??) -The interior is dated, which further corroborates my assumption that it thrives off of the local retirees. My unsolicited advice: look beyond those who love to name drop. Modernize. Clean it up. Brighten it up. Liven it up. You're competing with restaurants that are further out and well worth the trip. -Pecan pie was dry. Ice cream was good! Overall, this place is overrated, overpriced, and extremely underwhelming. We wanted to love Chef Warrens but were left a little underwhelmed with our dining experience. We will probably go back to give it another try as we have heard rave reviews from others and maybe it was just an off night. The good: Love the ambience - cozy but fun Raspberry mojito was delicious. Spinach salad and salmon entree were delicious. Flounder was also very good. The not-so-good: My husband did not care for his cocktail - a whiskey sour that seemed whiskey-less. The Prince Edward Island mussels tapas seemed to have been cooked in 2 batches and combined, as half of them were cold and half of them were luke-warm. This was probably the most disappointing dish. The service was meh - our server seemed distracted and too busy with other tables to check on us. No one asked how how meal was (we would have mentioned the mussels being off). Somewhat of a disappointment since we had been looking forward to a special night out. Hopefully our next visit will be better. read more

We made a reservation for 8 and we're seated upon arrival. The staff was friendly, including Chef Warren, but they were not great servers. It was 30 minutes before our drinks came out and one was missed. Then they gave everyone the wrong thing, resulting in people having sipped others drinks. Not great when people at the table have allergies, also germs, ewe. This trend of placing items incorrectly continued through starters and into entrees. Food was good, some was actually excellent, but hard to swallow the price tag when the whole experience was servers caring so little they couldn't remember what you just asked for. Cool atmosphere. Drinks came out quickly. Rolls were good but had to ask for butter. Beet salad was really good. Seafood soup was not my favorite. Broth was ok but not enough lobster or shrimp mostly clams. Wish I tried the French onion soup instead. Took a bit between the appetizer and main course. Had bone in rib-eye searved without the bone which was disappointing. I like my vegetables softer, there were served very crisp. Amberjack was gook but the slaw it was served with was a bit spicy. Waffle desert was good but a bit pricey at $9. French press coffee was great. If you want a nice dinner out, It is worth a try. read more

This place exceeded expectations. Cocktail menu was fun and had something for everyone. We left nothing of our locally sourced appetizer, and only had leftovers for the main course because we heard the descriptions of the desserts. The gluten free white chocolate cake was AMAZING. Shellfish Roulette: The muscles, I believe, were warmed up from the previous night. Temperature was inconsistent, flavor was flat and at least one, was bad. When I encountered a 2nd one that was "off", I stopped eating them. I had expected someone to inquire if there was a problem (when 2/3 of an appetizer was returned) they missed this opportunity. My wife shared one of her scallops with me from her entre, it was one of the BEST I've ever had! Almost melted in my mouth. Bravo. The swordfish was excellent. We asked for another round of rolls, they never made it to the table but showed up on the bill. Warren's team is working hard. The wine presentation was exceptional, I "missed-it" when my cocktail fork and plate showed up, and my water glass never got below 1/2 full. But, if you're fishing for a star, you can't bait the net with yesterday's shellfish. read more

Went back last night Feb 25. I had the steak special and it was amazing. My husband had the swordfish and it was really good as well. We did order the cheese plate as an appetizer and that was a game changer! The cheese was perfect with the jam and pickled onions and cucumbers. I am glad we went back and I am glad I tried the steak special. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Chef Warren's has declined. So sorry but we went to dinner there recently and the portion sizes are shrinking but not the prices. We ordered the halibut special and the scallops and shrimp. The halibut was not much bigger than a credit card and way over cooked. For $48.oo there were 3 shrimp and 3 scallops on 2 table spoons of grits. Unless you have money to burn, be wise and spend it at a different restaurant. Sorry. read more
