This is a small restaurant in the neighborhood. The look of the restaurant is very ordinary but the favor is great. I tried the beef fried fun. It is flavorful with tender and fresh beef. The portion is big. As a family-run business, the service is warm and quick.

Spicy beef chow fun and orange chicken

been passing by this place for almost a year and decided it was time to go try it. It's your typical Chinese take out with the classic menu items. Today we ordered a beef chow fun spicy and an orange chicken entree with it. The spiciness of the beef chow fun was spicy and Smokey. It did need a bit more soy sauce to have a bit more saltiness. The orange chicken was lacking in crunch due to it probably being soggy from the closed container. Other than that, the sauce of the orange chicken is very light and I personally liked how it was not drenched in straight up sauce. If there was a party, I would definitely come back and order the party trays.

Chinese takeout that hits the spot! I usually order via doordash and the food comes deliciously hot which is a great. My favorite meal here is their combination #5 which comes with beef broccoli, pork fried rice, and an egg roll. The beef broccoli is scrumptious and the fried rice is well seasoned too. Their egg roll is alright. I tried their combination#3, sweet & sour pork, chicken chow mein, and an eggroll which was pretty good too.

Honey walnut shrimp, orange chicken, chow mein and shrimp fried rice

I think we all underestimate these little restaurants but I can honestly say this is the most authentic mom and pops hold in the wall chinese food restaurant. The food is very flavorful. We will definitely be regulars here!

Their boba is extremely tasty and chewy. I recommend their Thai Tea and the portion size is reasonable.

I stumbled upon this place one day while doing my random walk, so you KNOW I had to give this place a try. I had went in upon opening time, so my wait was a little bit, but I was not complaining because you know what they say: "Greatness comes when you build them up one by one." I got their hamburger with the extra cheese, and curly fries. The patty was extra juicy, and the brioche buns were toasted really well. I especially like how they added on the cheese after the patty was marinated on the grill for quite a while, but not too long to the point all of the juice was sucked up. The only down side to the food: the prices. Be prepared to spend quite a bit on lunch if you decide to go to this place, because they do end up charging quite a bit more than what the regular places around Downtown would. But the IPA beers make up for it, so it's also worth a bang for your buck. Hospitality was pretty top-notch -- my order was taken in an orderly fashion, and they even apologized for the wait as well. I hope Scratch Cookery stays around for a long while so that people can try out such majestic wonders this establishment has to offer! Ambiance was great, and I'd definitely be back again!

I kept hearing about their hot chicken sandwiches for years, and we finally made the trek to check them out. The Good: * Friendly service * Prices aren't too bad considering the portion size and flavor. * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * Craft brews in cans * Seven levels of heat for everyone from the spice-averse to the hardcore fire lover. * Chicken sandwiches are massive and delicious. And despite it being a breast, they kept it very juicy. * Really loved their fries; I'm not sure if they make them in-house or if they're frozen, but regardless, they're fantastic. The Meh: * Not much in the way of drinks except for the aforementioned beers and cans of soda. The Ugly: * It's located in DTSJ, so you'll most likely have to pay for parking. If you don't mind walking a few blocks, the 4th St Garage is free for the first 90 min. Conclusion: Great spot to get your spice on.

We are trying to find something to eat in the area and notice that this place took over the Krispy Krunchy Chicken. We decided to order from there just to see if the recipe might be the same. We really like that they have a kiosk that you can order from. Since it was late at night, there was no one else waiting to order so we took our time scrolling through the menu. We ended up ordering 2 two-piece meals which came with biscuits as well. The photos of the biscuits looked really good since they were drizzled with honey, so I ordered a few extras. We also decided to try their barbecue sauce and honey mustard sauce. There was only one employee working, but he was very quick and very nice! The chicken is already made and sitting under a warmer, so it just needed to be packed. Surprisingly when we got home, the chicken was still very crunchy! The chicken was also pretty juicy and not dry inside. The biscuits with honey was delicious! I'm glad I ordered more on the sign. They're barbecue sauce is just okay, but their honey mustard is really, really good! I feel like a lot of fast food honey mustard sauces are not that good, but the one's here is probably my favorite! I would definitely consider coming back to get more chicken and maybe even stock up on some honey mustard!

He said they will officially have a new menu, etc in October. Currently, it "looks" to be the same Chicken King fried chicken as before. But I could be wrong. The reason why I came over here fairly recently was because I visited cousins and cousin in law that live near to give them Valkyries shirts and other shirts they'll send to the Philippines in over a month, and since they plan to be sending clothes over while telling me about the place, I gave them my Kate Martin and Kaitlyn Chen jerseys for the trouble as I needed to make room for my Veronica Burton jersey, which I wore when I met up with them, and my upcoming violet Gabby Williams one. (Go Valks!) The noteworthy parts the place has are the real good amount of banchan dishes, bibimbap and the short rib, the spicy one in particular. While I probably will not visit the place again anytime soon, at least I can keep this place in mind if I want Korean food without driving to Santa Clara. There's plenty of parking behind the spot. As you come in, the place looks simple, but it works. You have the adorable ajumma/ajumni to take your order. The stuff I ordered. I had water, banana milk and kimchi fried rice. Since I was the only one that had more than 1 drink, I told my cousins and cousin in law the banana milk, and they did bring up how on occasion, you see the drink in K-dramas. Of course, we laughed on how my parents never got into K-dramas and while I'm at it, Filipino dramas. Oh well. Oh, there's no doubt the food is good, and the place is too legit (to quit) as I did hear Korean from a different table. As I typed up, there are plenty of banchan dishes. Not Los Angeles amount of banchan dishes, but there are plenty of banchan dishes never the less. The kimchi fried rice dish may be simple, but it does give off that homey feel. Can't forget how Big actually is affordable, the big reason why my cousins and cousin in law like the place so much. The reason why the place doesn't get a perfect score. The place would have received a perfect score if, the major matter I remember here, the place has mul naengmyun (my favorite Korean dish). Originally, I wanted Japanese ramen before my cousins mentioned this place, and I was ready to pivot to having mul naengmyun, but I was told that the place doesn't carry the noodle dish. (Being a very good and logical dish to eat for at the very least half of the year in a city like here San Jose is the reason why of all of the Korean dishes, I like mul naengmyun the most.) There probably is one or two minor flaws I already forgot, but the lack of mul naengmyun is the dead on reason why I don't give the place a perfect score. On a side note, it's nice that I told the group what banana milk and mul naengmyun are, and by doing so, they learn something new regarding eating at Korean spots just in case. BigSpoon is a good spot. While it may not be as iconic as the places in Santa Clara, it is a good spot never the less. It does a good job at being a Korean spot for an area that is more so known for Mexican food. If you live on the east side, head on over here because the place should get your attention. +/BigSpoon is brilliant and spiffy because it has a terrific combination of good simple food, affordability and wonderful service. -/If only the place also has mul naengmyun.
