Sesame Chicken combo with fried rice and egg roll
    David N.

Stopped in and ordered two combo meals for takeout on a Sunday night. Place was clean and staff very friendly. Both meals came out quickly, flavors were well done, and chicken was really tender. Portions were also a good size. Nice spot for New York style Chinese takeout in Vermont.

House special fried rice, mala beef, pupu platter and hot and sour soup

Nancy H. said it perfectly. This is a decent Americanized Chinese food. I've had many places way better but even more way worst. My boyfriend and I ordered the House Special Fried Rice, Hot and Sour Soup, Mala Beef and the Pu-Pu platter. The soup was actually a little sour which I appreciated but had too much corn starch. The fried rice had lots of meat (chicken and shrimp mostly) but lacked any real flavor than tons of soy sauce. I would say the beef in the mala dish was really tender and the vegetables were actually all really crisp and fresh and was probably my favorite out of everything we ordered. The pu-pu platter was what to be expected. It was lots of fried things that all tasted exactly the same. The egg roll was still a bit under and we could taste the raw dough. The ribs were dried and both the fried chicken and the sweet and sour chicken was so bready that I didn't eat more than a bit out of each one. But, the crab rangoons were okay. This place met my expectations of a small town quick Chinese takeout.

Located next to the old car wash is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area!!!

this is not only the only Chinese place in Ludlow, but one of the very few restaurants that I love to order from consistently. The food is always outstanding. The staff is friendly and will do whatever they can to accommodate you if possible. This is one of the restaurants I recommend of my friends that visit the area.

    General tso special combo $9.18

Best restaurant in the area by far. Must eat here when visiting Okemo/Ludlow. Huge portions as well.

Might just be how VT does Chinese food but not good at all. Rice was weirdly think. Chicken had so much batter it was like a corn dog.

The food was good, and the hibachi chef was entertaining and professional. We were lucky to get seats by walking in after skiing when reservations were otherwise full. BUT, one extremely rude server ruined our experience. After the chef finished cooking, my drink still had not arrived, but our server was nowhere to be found. We politely asked a tall blond male staff member nearby if he could help us check on it. He immediately yelled at us loudly: "I'M NOT YOUR SERVER! FIND YOUR OWN SERVER!" A family sitting next to us saw this and talked to a manager for us. Our server later came and apologized, but we explained that the issue was not her fault--we were hoping for accountability from the staff member who yelled at us. Unfortunately, we were told that he would likely not apologize. We were offered one complimentary drink, but the situation itself was never properly addressed. Our server herself was polite, and we still left an 18% tip out of respect for her work. I think basic courtesy from all staff should be a minimum standard.

The first clue was the Cold Sesame Noodles appetizer that we tried. A generous portion and as close as I have had, to Chinatown taste. The hot and sour soup was served cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen to be heated, but once it was hot it was as good a soup as I have had. Egg rolls were crispy and crunchy and we all enjoyed them but the Duck Sauce was very watery. That could be improved. We had shrimp with lobster sauce which couldn't have been any better. Wonderful flavor and huge fresh shrimp. The boneless ribs were the star of the show. Big meaty chunks of pork rib piled high on the plate. Every table around us ordered them. Sweet and charred crispy, they are a must have! The fried rice was NY style with bits of pork and a hint of vegetables mixed in. I would have given Joy Wah 5 stars for the food but our waiter was just a little bit below par. We ordered several dishes to share but never were offered plates to share with. When we asked for to go boxes he bought us boxes too small for amounts of food on our plates. And he had his face in his phone the entire time we were there. If he paid more attention this would have been a 5 star review.

Not sure if it was intentional or not but the soup tasted not only way too sour but also sweet. Almost like there was balsamic vinegar or a lot of sugar dumped into it and because of that, it was my least favorite item. I did really enjoy my boyfriend's crispy duck dish as it was probably the first time I had a duck dish at an Asian restaurant that didn't come with bones. The curry sauce was really unique and almost tasted like gravy. The actual broth of the wonton soup was tasty but the wontons themselves tasted frozen and doughy. The gentleman owner was extremely polite and courteous when we were placing our order.

This epic tale starts with a Chinese woman with hair curlers, sticking her hand out the front door of the restaurant asking for "Credit CAR!" Several times before my boyfriend finally gave her the phone to speak to me. My boyfriend and I decided that after work, we would celebrate his birthday with some Chinese take out and evening of simple pleasures but this experience takes the cake! After the woman decided to hang up on me once she got my "Credit Car" , my boyfriend grabbed the phone as she shooed him out the door with two large stapled brown mystery bags, and slammed it behind him. "The audacity!" He states. We thought, well with this kind of customer service the food must be amazing... So one could only have dreamt. We go to unbox this unorthodox version of what they call "Chinese food", that smelled and looked as if the garbage disposal regurgitated the previous order. Sadly, the food was such a disappointment the homeless crack head behind the restaraunt would return this monstrosity and shake the dust off his feet. The rice was soggy and was the lowest grade, this is coming from an Asian person, myself. The hunan beef tasted bland, no flavor but oily and possibly an old rubber heel of a shoe. The General Tsao chicken tasted mildly like Palmolive with a touch of spice. The Szechuan dumplings, looked undercooked and smothered in the nearest mud puddle of the street and the sauce didn't taste too far from it. The appetizers were over cooked and the boneless spare ribs was such a disappointment. How can you mess that up, you ask? Easy, overcook it, throw some unknown brown sauce and smother it in aunt Jemima syrup and rub in some old grease. The wonton soup was salty, very salty. What flavor they were trying to cover, I do NOT want to know. If you want a night of diabetes, unknown flavors of possible mop water and pure regret, get your food from Kong Chow Restaurant, which I would said kong CIAO b/c they will never see this cute Asian face again! All brought to you worth $57.75! Food was inedible but worth the bad experience just to share with you!
