Cali Burger and Caprese.
Sergio R.

Cheesewalla is located in Orange Street Alley which makes for a unique hangout and dining experience. The restaurant offers only outdoor seating in the alley. The staff was friendly enough but lacked that welcoming feeling. My fountain drink was served with no ice :( The food was very tasty but sandwich fillings were underwhelming for the high price tag. Essentially two upscale grilled cheese sandwiches with sides and one fountain drink. With tip we were $50 dollars plus. Again, flavor is great, but I feel there are better dining options for the price.

Food is always consistent. Tomato bisque is a dream. Also don't be shy to try the doughnut . Service is fast and considerate. Always happy to share favorites and make specialty drinks. Vibe is sports bar/local spot really depends on what is on ( think world cup or playoffs =cray) we love a happy hour and the local owners are a sweet pair brother and sister. Buy local!

I've been to cheesewala two times now and both have been great. The food and drinks are really good. Only thing I noticed is service can be a little bit of a wait unless you're a regular.

I went during happy hour and the garlic fries were really good and the beer you could get any on tap. The service was really good as everyone was friendly and nice calm music to have a drink.

Cheesewalla is truly a beloved institution. The alley entrance is magical, and the indoor area you can enter from is always quiet and chill, with plenty of tables to enjoy at. We order the Samosa, pbc+j, and bbq mac grilled cheeses. Each one is delicious in its own way. The cheese is always at the right ratio. The samosa is wonderfully spiced, and comes with three different dipping sauces, just like actual samosas. I am anti cilantro, but the other two sauces pair so well with it. The bbq mac has a delicious barbecue sauce and tender beef. All three sandwiches could've used more filling; there was a ton of empty crust leftover that did not get eaten. Other than that, very satisfied with our order!

I came here for happy hour and it was a very positive experience. The decor and ambiance is like your typical bar- nothing out of the ordinary. The food came out quickly and i got the zucchini fries. They were a good sized portion and tasted amazing. I also got a mango margarita and was pleasantly surprised. It was definitely one of the better margaritas i've had in the area.

Best grilled cheeses ever! I love the jalapeño popper one, but I always sub the bacon for chicken! Get the tots too! So yummy!

They do have sourdough bread, if you're not allergic to gluten then you may be able to have sourdough.

There are no fried meats so that may minimize meat and vegetarian items mixing.

What is vegan here?

Yes, for Vegan people, they will make the following sandwiches on Sour Dough bread only: 1.…

This place looks really cheesy! Do you have vegan cheese options too?

My personal favorites are the Saverino's Sub, the Rocky Balboa, and of course, the NY Steak Sub! If you know, you KNOW! The subs are delicious, packed with flavor, and the reason I keep coming back! Now, as much as I love the food, I have to be honest about my most recent experience because this time around was NOT what I'm used to. Unfortunately, the customer service at the register was disappointing. The lady taking our order was not welcoming, didn't smile once, and came across as rude. We specifically explained that one of the sandwiches needed to be made without anything spicy because the person eating it couldn't tolerate spicy food. Instead of letting us know that the capicola is spicy, she responded with an attitude, saying something along the lines of, "It's ham, what do you mean?" That response was completely unnecessary! As someone who has worked as a waitress for over 20 years and is now a small business owner myself, I understand how important customer service is. You're not just taking an order; you're helping customers understand the menu, explaining ingredients, and making sure they know what they're ordering. If someone tells you they cannot have spicy food, that's your opportunity to inform them about the ingredients, not make them feel uncomfortable for asking a question! What made the experience even more disappointing was noticing that she seemed much friendlier toward the men than she was toward us. I can't say why, but the difference in how we were treated definitely stood out. The only friendly thing she said was "Have a nice day," and honestly, I couldn't even tell if it was directed at us or if she was just happy to see us leave. I will absolutely continue coming back for the subs because the food is THAT GOOD! But I truly hope management takes customer service into consideration because a great sandwich deserves great service, too! At the end of the day, customers should feel welcomed and respected, whether they're ordering a simple sandwich or asking questions about the ingredients. I love supporting local businesses, but the customer experience matters just as much as the food! The subs? The customer service this time? Definitely room for improvement! 2 stars because hospitality should be a priority!

We went at a perfect time, before the line went almost out the door. Our food was just okay. We kept it simple with a bacon, egg, & cheese sandwich (which was fine) and a sausage, egg, & cheese sandwich. The sausage seems to have just been warmed. We wish it would have been cooked on a flat top or something similar. We both tried new iced coffees. Caramel Coconut Latte and the Billy Buster. The latte was lightly flavored with actual coconut pieces inside. We weren't sure whether to get the Billy Buster hot or iced; the cashier recommended iced. When sipping the coffee through the straw, chunks of peanut butter were coming up and separating in my mouth, leaving an odd texture. I attempted to stir the drink as much as possible, but was only able to finish a 1/4 of it. I'm wondering if hot would have been better for the blending of the peanut butter into the drink?! We would not order it again, nor the sausage sandwich.

I am not sure how that happened! The burgers were ok.. I was expecting them to be full of flavor, but the carmelized onions were the best thing beween the bun.. I am sorry, but the meat should have been the star and it wasn't. The bun on the boss hog was soaked and wet and stuff dripped out when squeezed like a sponge. The cheese for the grilled cheese on the mannimal was different from the cheese on the burger itself. $12 Dollar onion rings, I was expecting more than a single serving and them to really good for Onion Rings that cost almost as much as a Burger. I wanna be nice about this place but the difference between what I got for what I paid and the lacking flavor. I was not impressed.. Was it this visit or is this normal?
