If you are looking for a local bar to play pool, hear some music, get some grub and drinks while being able to smoking smoke cigs, this is a good spot for it. The tables roll nice, decent room at the bar, cool staff and you get that "bar" vibe but if you are a non smoker, be prepared to leave with a heavy smell of smoke all over you! If you don't mind that, it's a cool late night hang but unfortunately I can't handle the smoke.

Ordered through ubereats I dont mind waiting at all. Took about 50 mins from when i ordered which is understandable. Now for the great part everything is burnt, the fries the onions, and my burger is so burnt to a crisp it taste like charcoal. I am so disappointed, i wanted to give this place a try but will never order again.

I ordered through Grub Hub. Thinking I couldn't go wrong with a burger. Boy, was I wrong. Burger did not have what I asked for on it and was burnt. I received a side I didn't order (they did try to call but I missed it). Chicken strips were ok but fries which were $1 extra were disappointing. And worst but not least the fish and fries looked like the frozen ones you can get at a grocery store with minced fish. On a good note, the delivery was quicker than expected. A waste of money to me though...

We stopped in here for some drinks on our way home from dinner at Town Center on Saturday evening. It's a great little bar. The place was pretty busy, but a woman greeted us on our way up to the bar and took our drink order. They had Woodchuck, which was a bonus for me, and the beers were cheap. We weren't here long, but we enjoyed ourselves and will definitely stop back in for drinks again.

I never leave any bad reviews here but this would be my first time. I just had a conversation with ched's employee through a phone call as I was just letting them know that what I ordered from them through grubhub is not what we asked and politely I said it was my first time ordering here. For starters my son likes extra crispy wings and all flats and what I got is almost raw wings and not even all flats. And then I told them that my wife had ordered corn for sides and there was none. He told me to call grubhub and complain there and maybe I'll get a refund, which I wasn't asking, and no they don't get paid for the food just the delivery fee but nonchalantly told me to call later as they are busy and couldn't help me any further. That was only a 2 min conversation. Unbelievable. Well I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody or any friends on base as they won't treat their customer right.

Each time I drive south on Kempsville Road I have tried to locate it but failed. Today after visiting my favorite ice cream spot I decided on an early dinner and set my GPS for the restaurant's address. To my surprise it was extremely visible, sitting right at the entrance to Kemps River Crossing Shopping Center. Turn into the entrance from Kempsville Road and you'll see it sitting directly on the right. It was early. So we were able to immediately get a comfortable table and extremely prompt service. Our server remembered all my special needs. She answered my fiend's questions about her preferred wine choice. Our drinks were served very quickly. The menu was extremely interesting. There were different sections for differing tastes. The Lunch/Dinner Menu has sections for Sandwiches, Soups & Salads, Small Plates, Signature Burgers, Tavern Pizza & European Comfort Foods. The latter was where my interest lay. It was a really hard choice since I could easily have ordered many of the dishes on the menu. How could I choose between the British, German & Irish entrees? After much agonizing I finally chose German. My Jägerschnitzel, a German classic, consisted of hand-flattened pork loin fried and topped with traditional onion and mushroom gravy. It was served with kraut, warm potato salad, and green beans. The large portions were perfectly prepared. I was pleased with the choice. My friend ordered the other dish I had considered: Magners® Corned Beef & Beer Braised Cabbage which consisted of Magners® cider marinated USDA corned beef brisket, slow-cooked and thinly sliced in house, paired with braised cabbage and bacon, chive whipped potatoes, and whole carrots. This will be my choice the next time I visit. The food came very quickly. In fact, too quick. I like a little time to linger over my cocktail before the food arrives. I've now learned that next time I'll wait a little longer to give the server my order. Park Lane Tavern exuded the air of a happy place. I'm not quite sure how to describe it. It's a cross between a restaurant, tavern or very large comfortable diner. The closest restaurant I've found to this was a large cozy similar type establishment on the Jersey Shore, which was obviously a hangout for locals in the off season. The only thing missing at Park Lane was their roaring fire. But Park Lane has the better menu choices. There are distinctively different sections. We were in a section that consisted of regular tables and chairs, which is ideal for those of us with bad backs and titanium knees. :). But there were no televisions in the area. There were sections of high top tables, booths and large inviting looking bars. Televisions showing sports were visible in most sections. I'd like to try one of the different sections closer to the bar rather than to be immediately taken to the more comfortable section, obviously their section in which to seat people my age.:) After dinner I did a little research on the tavern. The establishment was designed to feature the elements of a European Tavern or Pub. It has succeeded well in replicating that feel. It offers the best of both American and European cuisine. The group, which also has Taverns in Hampton & Fredericksburg, features unique beverage offering with an extensive selection of draughts from around the world. In my opinion they have completely succeeded in their goal of providing atmosphere, design, cuisine and comfort. I can't wait to return and try the Corned Beef & Cabbage.

Luckily, there was no wait this time and there were some tables open when we arrived. It's actually kind of small on the inside so I def see how the place fills up often. We started with the Spam Musubi (6/10) big chunk of rice and a small sliver of spam, wasn't a fan of that. The Skewered Chicken (9/10) was fresh and hot and a decent amount to share. For our first round of drinks we had the Swizzle (10/10) strong and yummy and the Blue Hawaiian (8.5/10) it was sweet and tasty, not too strong. We also tried the Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos (4/10) they were dry and even after I asked for extra sauce, I still wasn't satisfied. Either the fish, the slaw, or the sauce had a weird tangy after taste! On the side I had some Macaroni Salad (10/10) that was yummy for sure! Second round of drinks we had another Swizzle and a Tiki Island (9/10). Overall, I loved the vibe and atmosphere of the place. It's great for date night, but I wouldn't come back for the food. I was def left disappointed. I would; however, totally come back for drinks. I saw they have live band nights, I'd love to come back and see how that is. My overall rate of experience : 8/10

It's $1 per two credits or $10 for 24. I think because the tournament was going on the music volume was lower than usual, but still cool. I ordered fish and chips, my sister got cheese steak, and my friend got wings. My fish looked good. It was a little bland but I'm glad they gave me hot sauce and tartar sauce to help. It was fried hard like I requested. It was ok. The coleslaw was flavorless, but we're in a bar so I didn't expect Michelin star food. Lol. The fries were a little overcooked. My sister enjoyed her cheese steak, she said the pickled jalapenos made it pop. My friends wings were simple but decent. A little extra lemon pepper seasoning would have took them up a notch and gave them more flavor. We stayed a few hours and enjoyed ourselves. It wasn't so loud that we couldn't hear each other talk. So that was a plus. They have a few dart games, pool tables, and a quarter pusher game. The staff was friendly. It's a neighborhood bar so you'll see the same people normally. A decent time for sure. Our server was Nathan and he was friendly and accommodating!! I like the amount of happy hour options compared to some other restaurants with just a few. We got burger sliders with fries, calamari, poke nachos, and chicken lettuce wraps. The calamari was ok but it was some very tough ones to chew and the portion was small. The tartar sauce that came with it was good and a little spicy. The poke nachos were decent, but I'm not a raw girly to often, so I'd definitely ask if it could be seared. I put it in the air fryer at home, and it was pretty good. My daughter enjoyed it!! The lettuce wraps were just ok, the chicken was kinda rubbery and chewy. The wonton shell was delicious though and the sauce was good. My sliders were supposed to be all the way with lettuce, tomato, onions, and secret sauce. But when they came to the table they were plain with no sauce. I started to eat and about 5 minutes later the food runner brought my correct order. They said they gave me the table next to ours food. So the waiter came back to take it back, and I asked if they'd throw it away? He said yes! Which kinda bothered me. I asked since it was going in the garbage and it wasn't my mistake, could I keep it. He said the manager wouldn't allow it. With inflation why would the manager rather trash perfectly good food? It makes me nervous when restaurants take food back. If it's sat down on a table it shouldn't be returned, just take the loss, because how do I know your not going to replace it and serve it to someone else. I'm not a fan of that!! I'm not accusing them of doing that, but that's the thoughts that run through my mind in situations like that. The table was spacious at the booths and it was clean inside. There's street and garage parking. We went on a good day when it wasn't a wait for a table. The hostess was very nice. She was cheerful and engaging! I'd go back to try other happy hour dishes. Check them out!!
