Cheap prices and Large portions, for the money it doesn't get better. The main reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that one visit my wife ordered a steak, and she ordered it Medium. It came out Rare, blood was oozing out as she cut into it, RED on the inside not pink. So she sent it back, it came back Well Done, completely brown all the way through. The manager delivered it to the table and asked if it was O.K. My wife pointed out it wasn't AGAIN. The manager proceeded to tell her that the first steak she sent back was medium. My wife pointed out the she orders steak quite a lot and it was RARE! The manager continued to argue, and at that point my wife said "Fine, bring us the check". She called the Head Manager the next day and explained the situation, the Head Manager said she would check on it and call her back. She called my wife back the next day and informed her the waitress confirmed that the first steak she sent back was almost raw on the inside. Cheddars made it right. This was the only incident we've had there. They have the best burger in Town (Smokehouse burger) and it's only $5.59. Order a side of Red Beans & Rice with it. read more

This is THE place for chicken strips! I love the buffalo chicken wrapper. It's got the heat of buffalo sauce with the cooling benefit of cole slaw in the wrap. The portion is large enough that I usually take half of the wrap home. It comes with one side and I get the fries and dip them in extra buffalo sauce & ranch dressing. Good stuff!! We often get chips and salsa as an app....it's not on the menu but it is offered. This is a great place that serves great food for great prices!! read more

Let me begin by saying we are big fans of Cheddars but.... We went here today for lunch and sat in a booth in the bar area. The waitress took our drink order and we ordered an appetizer (chips and cheese dip). She brought our drinks and that is when things went south. My son tried to place his order and he didn't speak clearly enough for her to understand so he repeated his order. Her entire demeanor changed and not for the better. After she took our orders my son stated that she really does not like him. I said I thought she was mad because she had to keep asking what. After we sat there for about 20 minutes with no appetizer and empty drinks. I noticed that a table that arrived after us had received their onion rings. The waitress continued to ignore our table. We were getting ready to walk out when our lunch, including the appetizer, was delivered. There was still no sign of our waitress so we asked the person that delivered our for refills. Our original waitress returned with our drinks but then seemed put out that we asked for the fries that were missing from our order. She brought the missing food and disappeared. She never asked how our meal was - it was horrible, she never asked if we needed anything else - we did. We had moved all the dirty dishes to the end of the table - 4 plates and 8 glasses.She came back to drop off our check picked up a couple of dirty plates and walked away. The service was horrible and the food was disappointing. read more

First time here. One of the hostess was nice. Rest of the staff, so far - have flat lined when it comes to personality. Waiter struggled to comprehend our order - didn't seems that complicated. My husband and I like to pop in here for a date night or to grab lunch when we are out running errands. The food is pretty regular and only once in all of the times that we have gone did we leave not liking the customer service or food. They seem to have picked things back up since that visit. Cheddars has wonderful atmosphere and is very reasonably priced, which is a great feature. They also offer a wide variety, so it appeals to many people. Favorites of my family and friends are the Money Cristo sandwich (which is deep fried) and the Chicken Pot Pie. I absolutely cannot STAND their side salads though, because they use some kind of shredder to cut the lettuce into strip s and it just really kills the crispy crunch. I really don't like those. The carrots, however, are an exceptional side item choice and many of my friends love the honey drizzled croissant that comes with the salads. They get very busy here, so plan to wait a bit if you arrive at the height of dinnertime on busy nights. read more

We enjoyed Laine as our waitress! We had a party of seven and the place was packed. Our food still came out quick and was great.

Ate here twice while in town for a few days. The food was pretty good. Tasty salads and veggies. Decent sweet tea. The service was slow, and if you have more people than will fit in one booth, don't count on even sitting in the same section of the restraunt as your second table. Staff was not accomodating when asked to seat our groups near each other, and even sat the kids at a table with a completely different server, which made coordinating the checks difficult. I'd eat here again since the food is pretty good, but definitely not the place to go if you have a large group. read more

I'm a huge Cheddar's fan. I love that they serve the Monte Cristo! My all-time favorite! This was a lovely restaurant, quick service and wonderful wait staff....our server was Shelby, a wonderful employee. That said, we were sat at Table 46. Table 46 is right by the ledge they've chosen to put their rolls of silverware and menus for hostesses to grab when seating new customers. Both were in baskets. It was extremely annoying to have staff hovering over this area, constantly gathering menus or silverware, or returning the same, thus looming over me while I dined. I was constantly worried one of the baskets would fall on me or my husband or on our table itself. This ledge cannot possibly have been intended for this use. Don't do this! Anyone sitting at Table 46 will thank you. Find a solution that allows all of your guests to enjoy their dining experience. Otherwise, Cheddar's is still one of my favorite chains. read more

Normally I have a good experience at Cheddar's but was highly disappointed with them the other night. They sat us in the bar section right next to the exit door which is fine, but it was really cold that night and one of the waitresses kept stepping out to smoke a cigarette, while propping the door open. So we were cold and got to smell smoke. I even said something to our waiter about it and he promised it wouldn't happen again. It still happened 2 more times. I ordered the chicken dijon and mushrooms. I only get it for the mushrooms. It came out and there was no mushrooms. I told the waiter they forgot the mushrooms and he went to check on it. He comes back and says they are out of mushrooms. I told him that was the main reason I ordered it but that it was okay, but asked what they could do to make it right. He talked to his manager and they said they couldn't do anything. I was in disbelief that I was paying for something that I didn't get. They could have comped an appetizer we had or given us a few dollars off, but they offered nothing. Just really disappointed in the management during this visit. I won't be going back to this location. read more

I have been to the Bloomington location 3 times. The first time we had absolutely the worst service! The girl never came back to check on us. It took forver to get the check. I had a salad and we had a queso and chip app. My husband had a burger. The food was very good! The second time we had a good server. He was nice and seemed to care. I feel all the employees dont really care. They seem to have all vad attitudes except the one server. Very nice guy! The second time around I had a lighter item. It was fish. It was delicious. My husband had some app sampler. It looked good. The third time our server was so blah! She was nice enough brought us our food and plenty of drinks. She just had no personality. She really didnt talk. When she left she whispered or lower voice have a good day. It was so weird. I see her working at a data entry office job. Sorry, but so true. The food was good again. If you want good food and would not mind hit or miss service then check out cheddars. I gave 3 stars just because of the food. They really need to find better staff. read more

We went to Cheddar's on a Wednesday evening around 5:30. Seated promptly, but service was very slow after that. I realized why when I saw our server also serving in the bar area on the other side of the restaurant. Not well-organized. The food was good. However, I cringed when I went to the bathroom. In the stall beside me, I could see a black server apron with white stripes spread on the floor, like the person had taken it off and just put it on the floor rather than the door hook. She had a gold wallet or cell phone case in the pocket. I was washing my hands and hanging behind just a few seconds just to make sure it wasn't my server that came out. To my surprise, the women left the stall and quickly left the bathroom before I could see her - not even stopping to wash her hands. If this is the level of cleanliness the employees observe in the bathroom, I would hate to see what goes on in the kitchen. Overall, I was not impressed with Cheddar's, even though the food was good. read more
