Located in a brand new shopping plaza in Pembroke Pines was a new restaurant called cheddars. I heard mixed reviews about it as it has locations in various other places around the state so I went to give it a try. Walking inside, there is a huge fish tank that really adds a nice ambiance to the interior. For an appetizer we had cheese curds and they were great! They came in a delicious sauce that really complemented them well. They also serve buttered croissants to the table that tasted great! They were warm and really added to the experience. However, that is where the experience starts to go downhill. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger as a baseline because I know what a good burger is. You can judge a restaurant based on how they serve a burger. Unfortunately for Cheddars, that means the restaurant is not good at all. I ordered the burger medium well as a precaution due to not knowing how the restaurant operates. It had no flavor once so ever. Even the cheese had no flavor. I did not enjoy the burger. The fries were also way too salty and didn't complement the lackluster taste of the burger. It was a huge disappointment. We went for lunch rush and there wasn't a lunch crowd. We were the only ones inside so I think that speaks a lot to how the food is. I hope this was a one off experience because I really wanted to like it. Maybe in a few months when they get settled in will be the best time to give it another chance to work out the kinks? I am not really sure. read more

I've gone here a few times now, and I've been thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant are modern yet comforting. Every employee I've dealt with has been nothing but kind and friendly. I've also gotten curbside pickup once, and I had just as good an experience as I would dining in. Their chicken fingers are phenomenal, and I always get a meal combo that includes them. If you are a chicken finger connoisseur, you need to try this place out. My ranking for chain restaurants used to be Fridays (before they changed their recipe a long time ago), Outback in second place (who also had to change the ding dang recipe,) and Chilli's. This is a fast serving sit down place we got greeted nicely. A few times got to our seat which was so much space in between considering we had a stroller. Not packed at all at the time we went . I got the strawberry lemonade tasted fresh with real strawberries in it plus the hot ugh out really good bread rolls covered in butter had lots of flavor to it pretty good and warm and soft . I love the chain food of Cheddar's and have eaten at different locations in the past. I was so excited to see that there's a new closer place for me to visit so I came here for my birthday dinner. I arrive with my husband and we waited around for awhile to be greeted and even longer to be seated. I can understand if the place was very busy but it was very quiet and empty that evening. We were eventually greeted and taken to our seats. Waiter came and gave us a warm welcome and took our orders since we knew exactly in advance what we wanted. Cheddar's, unfortunately, fell very very short. Not for nothing, it is fairly new and probably underestimated the volumes that would be coming in here in the Pines area, but I really want to give this place another shot once they figure things out. Long story short: it was a 50 minute wait to be seated in an area where there weren't any servers, the food took an hour to arrive, we were continuously ignored and/or forgotten by the servers, and no management to willingly appease the situation. It just wasn't a pleasant nor comforting first experience for what is supposed to be a comfort food restaurant. I will say my New Orleans Pasta (once it finally came out) and their famous croissants were delicious. Hopefully things get more organized and customer service gets improved. Came here to watch the Super Bowl! I arrived about 5 minutes before kick off and there was no wait. I asked to be seated in a booth near the bar and was immediately told by the host that they are short staffed so I would have to sit in the another area away from the tv. I saw multiple staff sitting at the bar area watching tv and laughing and talking so I'm not sure why I couldn't be seated. After waiting for 10-15 minutes with a one year old, I advised the host that there's no movement on any side of the restaurant so why am I having to wait. 6 guests left and I was finally able to be seated. The restaurant was busy but not packed. I saw a few people come in and sit and leave. When taken to my table, the table and chairs were dirty and had to be cleaned. The waiters and waitresses were more concerned about playing and talking to each other. Customer Service was really poor. Food: I ordered shrimp and chicken tenders with a side of rice and fries. Portion size for the sides was extremely small! My 1 year old ate the full serving of fries so that should tell you about the amount of fries served. The rice bowl was pretty tiny. The flavor was okay. It had onions though out. Chicken tenders were chewy and more like small strips. The shrimp was pretty good!! So this cheddars just opened, and me and my partner decided to try it out. Very nice location, loved the inside! The staff was also very nice and attentive. The drinks were really good, I had the painkiller which was mentioned on a lot of reviews. If you like piña colada's this is the drink for you. My partner had the tiki and loved it as well, the prices were not bad either so that's a plus. The food was ok! Nothing to go crazy about. Spinach dip was cold and watery, YIKES!!!! I visited this location on Aug. 2, 2024 around 9:45pm. Our host was the manager and we explained to her that we haven't been there in a while because the last 3 visits, there was a problem with our food, even when returning our food we still received yet cold/old food. Our food was made correctly only once out of all the visits. She apologized and sent a waiter right out, it's not the waiters fault when our food is cold. However, she assigned us him assuming we'd have a better experience this time around. Yet, again our food wasn't prepared hot. My mash was cold, my steak wasn't sizzling hot or even warm at the matter. I was given another mash, yet worst than the first. I continued with the same steak without even being offered A1 steak sauce. My boyfriends fries were some what warm and the shrimp you could tell wasn't fresh and the ribs were bulky and full of fat. We received another rib, however the same bulky fatty rib. We also received more shrimp, yet they were extra battered and not fresh either. The manager apologized for the mishap, however didn't seem too sincere. Let alone, we mentioned our previous experience to avoid such and yet received the same service. Again we tried to give you guys the benefit of the doubt and was disappointed. We won't be coming there again in any future because fresh hot food has been a issue 4 out of 5 of our visits. For our appetizer we ordered the spinach dip.. the spinach dip was average.. when our Caesar's salad arrived, the presentation was horrible, the fork was in the bowls, the handle had dressing all over it, the bowl was dirty with Caesar dressing around it and the dressing was very very watery... we spoke to our waitress and she agreed that it was unacceptable.. she brought us back two freshly made salads, but still with watery dressing.. our entrees took ALOT of time to the point where my son fell asleep. My husband's steak was raw on the inside, the waitress is actually the one who noticed and again stated she would have it fixed..my son never received his fries and we had to ask multiple times for things we ordered.. My spouse and I went to this Cheddars on my birthday, July 23rd. We've been there many times before but never ordered the steak. Since it was a special occasion we did so and asked for my steak medium rare and my spouse's medium. My steak came back perfectly medium rare. My spouse's steak was over-cooked, tough and well done. We asked to get a steak at medium with at least a pink color inside. After about 15 minutes the staff brought out another steak which was bloody rare!!! By that time I was just about done with my meal. The waiter took the steak back to cook it some more but by then my spouse had lost her appetite. Looked at the returned steak which was still rare and ended our visit. What was most disappointing was the waiter and manager's lack of effort to resolve the issue. Not once did they offer to remove the steak from the bill. We paid about $70.00 and left there totally disgusted with the way we were treated. In the future, if I should find myself coming back to this Cheddars, we will be sure not to order the steak unless it is prepared by someone who knows how to properly prepare a steak and management who knows how to treat customers accordingly. We visited this restaurant on a busy Friday night. It was our first time eating at this restaurant and it will not be our last. Our waitress Zoe was excellent. She was able to answer all of our questions and recommended some delicious entrée. Zoe was very attentive to not only our table but to every customer she assisted. The food was hot and fresh. The vibe was laidback and family oriented. I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant if you are having a date night or a family night with the kids. We always order a family bundle with salmon, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. It comes with bread as well and I believe a salad too. The food is pretty good and tastes fresh. I love that you can order in advance online and then either do curbside or pickup. It's always a lot of food and my family of 3 always has leftover's. I wish more places had quality family meals like this. Nothing better than being able to order food similar to what I cook at home on a night when I don't have time or I don't feel like cooking. We were a group of 8. We were greeted by a server named Alvaro. He introduced himself and said his manager was calling him and he would be back in 5 minutes. After about 10 minutes, he returned to take a drink order. After bringing the drinks, everything went to heck. We all had to ask for drink refills when normally a server comes back around and asks if you would like more. Then, after taking the food order, it took 1:30 to bring the entrees. We were all so disappointed. After taking so long, then some folks in our party began to become irritated. In the defense of Alvaro (the server) some folks in our party was visibly expressing anger directed at Alvaro. The folks in our party had good reason to be upset because no one really tried to resolve these problems. It would have been nice if a manager had come out to apologize or at a minimum address the situation. I felt so bad for Alvaro because he seemed to have been thrust into the middle of a lions den created by food delays and poor service. In the end, the checks were all wrong. My bill was $60 and it should have been $110. My relatives bill was $100 and should have been $60. So, we had to straighten this mess out on our own. I gave my relative the difference because they placed the majority of my bill on hers. I resolved it without asking Alvaro to fix the bill because he was already stressed. As a manager myself, I can say that Alvaro was either New or overwhelmed. He needed support or help and no one seemed able to help him. After everything was over, I went to apologize to Alvaro for what he went through and recognized him for remaining calm and professional during the entire time. This young man impressed me with his ability to remain calm. I gave him an additional tip and my wife wrote a word of encouragement on his receipt. The service was poor at no fault of Alvaro and the food was mediocre. Needless to say, I won't be back because I feel that Alvaro should have had support and I felt bad watching a server be placed in this situation by what I believed to be a poor manager. When it came to the drinks, I asked him which was the best one on the list and which one did he like if he had to pick. He gave me two options, Maui Margarita and Cheddar's Pain Killer. My friend and I ended up ordering the Maui Margarita. The next time we go back I think I'll order the Pain Killer to see what that's all about. Our drinks were huge but good, it was big enough that we didn't even finish it. As for the food, I ordered the Country fried chicken, with a side of mash potatoes and gravy and a broccoli cheddar casserole.
