Wild Little Thing Sour Ale
Alex B.

I came here for the 1st time a couple months ago & I'm really glad to have finally given it a visit. It's tucked away in the Round Up shopping center making it the perfect hidden gem. As soon as you enter you can tell they've got a solid crowd of regulars but once you take a seat & try on of their beers you'll probably become one too. They don't have a massive list of beers to pick from, but if you choose to get something that was brewed in house you'll definitely enjoy your drink. The beer list rotates often but they have a couple that are permanent. I really love the Bill & Reds, Feeder Brands blonde ale & any of the sours they offer. Their website stays updated so you can even decide what you want before walking through the door. They also carry seltzers & other beers that aren't brewed in-house so you can give that list a look over too. However you do it, you'll find a beer for you. They offer some light food from their kitchen & it seems like their specialty grilled cheeses are pretty delicious. You can build your own or choose from the ones they recommend. They offer all sorts of crazy options that sound & look delicious. I haven't had any food from here yet but I'm sure that'll change pretty soon. Whether it's the beer or food prices you're talking about, everything is super fair for the quality you get. On top of that, they have a cool little gaming set up & a handful of your typical bar board games to play. There's a dartboard in the back that's free to use also. Little touches like this really help a place stand out. The owner, Kyle, is a super nice & cares about providing great customer service from the minute you walk in. There's a couple other main bartenders who are all very on point with their service also. You really can't go when you choose to stop by the Mack House.

I decided to stop here to catch up with a couple friends that were in town and I saw on Yelp that this place was super close and I never knew it existed. When I walked in, you could tell it was a place where they have regulars for sure. I walked up to the bar with my friends and we planted ourselves on a couple hightop chairs. I decided to order the daddy mack and let me say, the drink was absolutely amazing. The flavor of the beer was absolutely amazing, I'm not usually an IPA drinker but I would easily go out of my way to grab this pint the next time I see it. The place has an extensive range of beers, both on tap and bottled and I grabbed a stout as well and it was okay, however not my favorite and I wouldn't order it again. They have a handful of food options, I didn't try any, but the grilled cheese sounded phenomenal and I'll probably grab it the next time I'm here and having a little craving for food. Prices for the beer are decent, with a pint being roughly $7 to $9 dollars, depending the percentage of it. The staff was friendly and you can easily strike up a conversation that they will seem to be into, no matter what it is. The place also has a dart board on the back and a few board games to play as well. No mixed drinks, so if you're not a beer drinker, definitely stay clear from here. I'll for sure be back!

When I first pulled into the strip mall parking lot to see a sign that said only said brewery, I wasn't really sure what to expect. Once I got inside, I was pleasantly surprised. The place is small but there are definitely options for seating at the bar, high top, a few couches or some outdoor seating. The decor is really cool with a lot of signage for different brewing companies. They also had different board games that you could play. They have a good selection of beers on tap along with bottles and cans. The bartender was nice enough to let me try a sample of one as well. My favorite part was that they served grilled cheese. Although my friend and I split a pretzel instead, I thought it was a unique idea to have grilled cheese on the menu. Good local spot to check out.

So glad I finally made my way over here. I am a sucker for grilled cheese and beer. Suds were solid...I need to go back and try some of their other beers. The Big Mack grilled cheese was so fun and tasty. For $20, the best bang for my buck I've found in Broward.

Nice place to go and meet up with friends or a good place for an end of the evening date. There are a dozen brews on draft, and a dozen more in bottles and cans. All different flavors and colors. It is quite dark inside and there is always one person behind the bar to pour beers. The guy behind the bar at the time we were there wad nice but not super personality. He let me sample a couple beers before choosing the one I wanted but he was not overly thrilled to share any flavor information. I would have liked for that experience to be 5 stars so I would be compelled to come back again. There are some high top tables, a comfy couch and a table with every popular game as well as Nintendo 64 with some old school cartridges. A fun place with plenty of beer and a couple of snack options. Tip: you can bring in fast food take out as ling as it is not too elaborate. (No buffet food parties!)

Visited The Mack House while up in the Plantation area with friends this past weekend, but wasn't super impressed with this place. The brewery is really small, located within the same shopping center as The Round Up, with a large sign up top that says BREWERY. Not hard to find at all, despite its small size. The Mack House is a hole in the wall type of microbrewery, serving something like 100 local craft beers. Maybe it was dark and the chalk boards didn't really help, but I couldn't really see where their house beers were listed, so I ordered a White Rascal which they served in the bottle. The venue gets pretty crowded, with a bunch of beer lovers just looking to hang out and play games. There's a TV setup with a couch for video game enthusiasts. My friends and I played a few rounds of Jenga, Connect 4 and discovered this new card game titled "What do you Meme?" which had us laughing for about an hour. They also serve a bunch of snack food, but nothing looked appealing enough to actually order. You don't really get to know any of the employees there because there don't seem to be very many of them and if there are, they're behind the bar hanging out. Looks like they cater to regulars more than they do to newcomers. All in all, I thank The Mack House for the memories my friends and I made there, but probably won't be going back anytime soon since it really wasn't that memorable of a brewery. Three stars for the abundance of games, drawing a decent crowd and offering a lot of local craft beers.

Who knew? When I say that this place is the best kept secret, I mean it. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't full of people. Very dark inside and a nice place to slip away from the heat of the day. For those of you who are single...best place to take a date for a drink of beer, small chit chat with a finish of a round of darts. If you don't like darts, they have other games that you can play. It isn't necessarily a place to take kids, but we saw a father with his child on the couch playing Jenga. There is a wall where you can add a name that says Leave A Beer. I mentioned it after going to the restroom and my husband said that it probably meant that you put your name up there after you go to the bathroom. Really? Some people had 4 lines after their name. Weak bladders I thought. I asked the bartender what the wall was for and he said the you can buy a beer for a friend. Well, so much for the bathroom theory! If you are a beer lover, this is the place for you!

Being someone who isn't a "beer guy" per say, I've always found those big breweries kind of intimidating, mainly for the fact that they're so busy, that you can't ask questions or take your time because you're kind of in their way. What I love about Mack House (one of many that you'll read about) is it's such a laid back place. For better or worse, every time I've been here there have only been a few guys at the bar, so you're able to take your time, stare at the menu, take a sample or two, and then decide. And that makes me quite happy. Mack House kind of reminds me of your friend's basement in high school. I will say my friend did have a full bar in it so it really does remind me of that... Anyway, it's got board games and a big box tv from the 1990's and a Super NES and a Nintendo 64 surrounded by two couches. I like nothing more than grabbing a beer and playing some Mario Kart or Golden Eye or some WWE with friends. The hours seem to fly by and your hands start to ache from pressing the buttons so hard. Remember Nintendo thumb? The last time I was here I tried the beer before breakfast from Dogfish Head which is a milk stout and has a 7.40% ABV (look at me dropping beer knowledge) and is really delicious. It really does remind you of breakfast with the hints of syrup. We then got some food. We tried the caprese grilled cheese and pretzel- both great. I don't know which I liked more to be honest. The IPA cheese for the pretzel was out of this world. I love the Mack House. Every time someone mentions that they want to go I'm automatically in. It's chill. It's fun and yeah, it's got some old school video games. It's a definite local favorite for me.

Beer and n64?! Yes!
Linda L.

Amazing beer list plus N64 and a comfy couch?! Yes this is my type of bar!! Now I'm not one to frequent bars/lounges but occasionally I find one that I really like and stick with it like Funky Buddha. But I'm so glad Yelp introduced me to Mack House! I can see this place being very packed on a weekend but on a quiet Tuesday night, it was perfect for good conversations and some nostalgic gaming. I tried their C. Porter which had a nice rich coconut taste. I prefer darker beers like porters and stouts so this was right down my alley. Their menu really does have something for everyone. Bottled and tap. I was so excited to test my childhood skills on some Mario Kart and I won't name any names but... Let's just say I was a reigning champ on the battlefield. This is a very chill place to catch up with some friends with a good local brew!

It was a bit before my time, but I've always imagined places like CHEERS couldn't exist. Impossible. Cozy, intimate, friendly faces....well you add those elements, plus craft beer brewed onsite, old school video games and nice small bar bites and you've got the Mack House! Tucked away in a strip mall in Davie the Mack House serves up some of the best brews around. Not only do they have their in-house creations, they also serve brews from other great local breweries like Funky Buddha and Wynwood Brewery. You might of heard of their national brand -Holy Mackeral - but at the Mack House it's all about keeping it local, and small batches. There are brews available here, you can't get anywhere else! The place isn't massive, but it's just right for a local, neighborhood bar. As soon as you walk in, there is a couch and old school TV set up. Hooked to it is a site that will make any 80s or 90s kid spill tears of joy. An original Nintendo and Super Nintendo gaming systems. Yep, sip some brew while competing in Duck Hunt or Mario Kart! They even have weekly tournaments. What I've had: Psycho Phish - Delicious, crisp. It's a mix of their popular Panic Attack - with Florida oranges! Blonde (I forgot the name!) - super smooth and light. Refreshing and tasty. Panic con Pablo - Coffee infused beer made with beans from a local coffee shop in Miami! Love that they keep it super local. Maple Chipotle - it's got a kick! Pretzel with their IPA Cheese Spread! This is awesome! Get one! They also have "Florida Flights" which are in the shape of Florida (GENIUS) and you can get 5 brews to try. The whole team at the Mack House keep it real! They care about beer - and it shows. Plus, did you read the part about the video games?!?!

What else am i gonna have?.
Howard H.

I think this is a wonderful local pub. We came here after our anniversary dinner to got a couple of beers. Inside the pub is not very big, a bar with a few stools, a few bar tables, but there is a living room sofa with video games in the front. I think they rotate beers very often because they list all the beers available on a chalkboards. But that's a good because you get to try a variety of beers all the time. They brew their own beers on site but they also do serve a few other local beers. I had the Downpour IPA and it was pretty good. I had a few other beers and they were pretty good too. I like support local business and this is just another one of those business I'd like to brace. The staff was very friendly explaining different kinds of beers . And especially I like beers...why not!

8/2/2015 - So glad to have this place 5 minutes from my house. We came here on Sunday before we were about to catch a movie. They open at 4pm on Sundays. We were seating outside waiting for it to open and so were 6 other people. This place is pretty popular with the locals. #DrinkLikeALocal They have tables outside but since it was muggy out we decided to go in. They have some tables and a couch with an old school TV and Nintendo!. Chalk paint on the walls so they can easily write all the beers they offer. At the far right side is their cozy bar. That's where everyone seemed to want to be. I ordered Monk in The Trunk. We were only able to grab one beer but this spot is definitely one I want to come back to. They have bar bites and my favorite bags of chips. Lots of craft beer on tap, bottles and cans. Would love to come here and listen to some live music. I didn't see any upcoming events but I hope they have some. Also, would be great if they played some music on the speakers, it was pretty quiet in there.

This is where I whooped Chett Feels' butt.
Jonathan T.

The Mack House, a local watering hole located in a strip mall that has both Super Nintendo and N64 available to play, hosted the video game a** whooping I put on my friend... Chett. Yeah, Chett Feels. I whooped him so badly he ended up dousing his controller with tears. The examples include the following (in chronological order): ===Street Fighter II=== I chose Guile (underrated character); he cautiously picked Ken. (Of course, he would.) And then we battled at the Ryu stage. I easily took two rounds in a row using timed flash kicks, sonic booms, and sweeps. He threw down the controller in anger (like a child). I usually love playing Street Fighter, but I like to have some competition. *Note: Don't forget to enter the code Down - R - Up - L - Y - B (in that order), so you can select the same character. ===WCW vs. NWO World Tour=== Chett, defeated, believed he could get revenge with this game. He immediately picked Kevin Nash, and I, of course, chose the homie, Kim Chee. After rounds and rounds of roundhouse kicks, punches, and trash can swipes, I finished him off with a submission. ===Goldeneye 007=== Type of Weapons = Pistols. Level = Facility. I'll give him credit. He murked me three times (because I felt bad for him), but I won with four headshots. I purposely kept things close with Chett, so I could build up his confidence before tearing him down. My friends had a few brews there, but I was too busy whoopin' Chett's video game booty to try anything. Can't wait till next time!

The venue offers live music on weekend evenings, but we finished eating before it began and were too tired to stay. The restaurant oozes the Irish pub decor and theme. Our waiter, Jordan, was exceptionally friendly and jovial. And he was a master at suggesting alcoholic beverages, once you let him know your likes. We had 2 orders of Irish potato soup, 2 Shepherd's pies with cheddar cheese, 2 orders of the Guinness beef and mushroom pie, 1 cabbage rolls, and one fish and chips. The soup was filled with bacon bits and creamy and luscious. The Guinness pot pies were a bit small, especially because they were so savory. The accompanying mashed potatoes did not come with gravy and there wasn't enough from the pot pies to cover it. The veggies that came with all the entrees were freshly made and without any seasoning. (But it is better to add salt and pepper than to try and remove it.) The fish was a decent size serving, but again, no real seasoning. Nothing that some salt, pepper, and malt vinegar couldn't rectify. The coating was light and crispy. Our alcoholic beverages (Guinness, wine, and a couple of specialty cocktails) were thirst quenching and satisfying. (I loved my prickly pear margarita.) Dinner for 6, including 2 soups, 6 entrees, 8 drinks, tax, and tip was $300.
