We walked in at 6:30PM (on a Monday, to be fair) and there was not a single soul in there besides us and the 2 employees. That being said, we received undivided service. The food was fairly good, but not enough to come back for. Overall, the experience was "okay". Also wanted to note that my bench seat was very well-worn. While being an unrelated cosmetic issue, things like that make me wonder if they're really caring for the place.

Should've read the reviews before coming here...also should've turned around as soon as we walked in and smelled the stench of dirty cleaning water... Decided to stay because we used to come to this bar many years ago and have fond memories with old friends here. That being said, we will not be coming in again. The ambiance is sad, very quiet for a Friday night. The service was very poor and inattentive. My husband and I sat at the bar and asked for a menu and were handed one menu to share. One menu?? We ordered a Blue Moon and a Miami Weiss on draft to start. The first sip of the Blue Moon was off and we quickly decided something was wrong with the beer. We ordered a Modelo on draft to replace the Blue Moon and it was also undrinkable. Something is definitely wrong with their beers on draft. Disgusting. The only thing that prevented this bar from getting 1 star was the food. Wings and the chicken pot pie were not bad. Their only saving grace. Overall, would not recommend.

They added Shepherds Pie to the lunch menu!!! This place is a long time pillar of Davie- and the Shepherds pie is my absolute favorite paired with a good stout on tap. Great selection of brews and I love playing Jenga outside. Thank you Sal for many a good time!

That'll be about $8.00 for one draft.

Talk about gouging you! This place is over the top. Sure it's St Patrick's day but $7.50 for a little draft beer in a plastic cup.

This shepherd's pie was the best I've ever had in my life. Cherry pop cocktail was quite refreshing...however, I had wanted a beer. Alas, not a single dark beer or English beer on tap. There's no excuse.

This wasn't just good soup... this was comfort. Rich, flavorful broth, tender pieces of chicken, perfectly cooked noodles -- the kind of soup that instantly takes you back to your childhood kitchen. Honestly, if I didn't know better, I would've sworn my mom was the one cooking. It's hands-down the best chicken noodle soup I've had in a very long time. The only thing missing? Found the service slow at this location and ordered an old fashion and the large fish and chips. The old fashion was weak and the fish was greasy and thin with breading that was thicker than the actual piece of fish. Mentioned the greasy thin fish to the waiter and he said he would mention to the kitchen but no other feedback. Thankfully there are a ton of other restaurants in this location so I'll probably try brimstone and village tavern next time and hope it was just an off night here.

The place has live music on Saturdays and is dive bar-ish.  But I can't really describe it as a dive bar because there is no smoking, the bar food is super fresh and delicious and there is craft beer. The theme here is South African and American.  They have some South African food on the menu and South African beer and wine.  I tried one of the South African beers, it was light and some sherry which tasted wonderful. The food is fresh.  I ordered wings extra crispy and they actually got them right... Winning!  Also ordered the fried okra which was super fresh, not too salty like other places, and by far the best fried okra that I have ever had.  It was absolutely phenomenal. Going to try to return again this next weekend to mingle with the regulars.  Hope we get along, because I would really love to make The Angry Warthog a habit. If it's your first time there it can be a little confusing on ordering but we figured it out and we were well taken care of. We were going to start with pretzel bites but we had a little snafu after a long talk about pickles and my pickle phone case so we ended up with the fried pickles. They were amazing and they weren't spears or slices they were bite size barely breaded (yay!) bites with a little bit of heat sauce. So good! They are obviously not made from frozen and are soooooo good! We then had the pretzel bites. It came with a thick cheese sauce that had a kick. My husband and I loved them too! I had a caprese hoagie (pressed) small. And my husband has a small North Fork small hoagie. It looked amazing and was HUGE for a small. We also had handcut fries. I love when restaurants serve fresh cut fries. They just taste different. So good. All in all, we loved it! There is something for everyone to eat and we are so happy we ended up here by default!
