I've been to cheddars all over Texas and 1 in Florida. This is the worst cheddars I've been to. I've ordered to-go here 2x. The first time I was hung up on twice prior to someone taking my order, was on hold for about 15-20 minutes combined before a manager finally took my order. (Nothing offered for the inconvenience) Also the food was sub par compared to every other cheddars I've been to. The second time, my New Orleans pasta was dry, my croissants were dry, there was no garlic bread with my pasta, the carrots taste like they heated them in the microwave. I remember when this place used to be unique and pleasant due to its prices, service, and tasteful design. For whatever reason, they have allowed their quality to plummet. For the past few years, the service has been slowly declining. I expect rude waiters/waitresses, that clearly feel overwhelmed. The waiter may forget multiple sides and have us wait an extra 15 minutes. By 4:00 PM, they are running out of dressings/ingredients and can't offer appetizers, or salads that they used to. If 3 people in the party ask for steaks, 1 will definitely be under/over cooked. This location used to be an easy candidate for the best restaurant in town. This place is a very good and highly interesting place. I have to say that when I stepped inside, I did not imagine that this would be the style and layout of the place, it is well thought and sought into. I love the design of the ceiling fans, the bar area is also neat. The waiting staff is more than enough to handle the place, which is rare to see in Odessa, most places are understaffed. The waiters here are nice and have good customer service. Food is excellent, I have been here three times now, and I am most definitely returning for more. I am rather shocked that this placed is not rated yet, because it is always a full house when I go there!! I guess it is to keep it a hidden secret in Odessa! read more

Decent food but I think they are more known for their sides, wait was long for lunch but this is because typical Odessa workforce at its best they didn't show up for work that day. We were told a wait of an hour and forty five minutes was expected before we were seated. It actually was less as lots of people left before they were seated because of the long wait. But that was fair we were advised of the wait and we decided to stay. I ordered sirloin steak and shrimp. Very low quality meat and shrimp. Ordered medium and got well done. Tasted macaroni and cheese, gravy, Caesar salad, Alfredo sauce and chicken, croissant, mashed potatoes,and fries. Everything tasted like frozen and instant food. Under staffed. If they have the capacity for that many people they should have enough staff to take care of customers in a timely manner. Very bad taste as they put on the bottom of the ticket how much you could tip based the amount of your ticket. I was a waiter in my younger days and I know that part of the tip is earned by the waiter and the other by the restaurant as a whole. It is called a gratitude for a reason. Cheddars is right near Music City Mall and across the street from Buffalo Wallow. Bubba under-rated this restaurant! We enjoyed our dinner very much. The Mac and cheese was very delicious, the sweet chili chicken and shrimp was yummy, and the Texas toast grilled cheese was excellent. Gran even paid!!! The restaurant was a little chilly inside given that it was 95 degrees outside. We also would have enjoyed the windows being more open to enjoy the beautiful flowers outside. Me and my girlfriend went last night. The food all tasted good except my Caesar salad which was very over dressed. The waitress was very nice and replaced it for me no questions asked. Unfortunately we got food poisoning and we've both been up all night puking. We both got the country fried steak and had to throw away a lot of leftovers too. Don't even waste your time trying to get a take out with this bunch. I tried to enter an order online, as I have done in the past, but the website wasn't working correctly. So my husband called down there, gave them the order, and our name and phone number. The lady said it would be ready in ten to fifteen minutes. Then she hung up before we could ask her about payment. She never asked for payment. I drove over there, parked in the curbside pickup and called them. Said I was there in number 3 and asked when I need to pay. The lady said, oh, okay. We will bring it out. Then my husband texted to say he had a text from them saying the order would be ready in 15 more minutes. I waited at least 20 minutes, when a cheddars employee came out and asked me what I had ordered and what name was on it. She said she'd check and be back. At least 15 more minutes passed. She came out again and asked me again what I had ordered and what name was on it. I said, The order is lost, isn't it? She said yes but they could enter it again. I declined and told her it wasn't her fault but I didn't want to wait another 45 minutes. She said the restaurant's really busy tonight. She offered me dessert. I declined and said, No, I'm leaving now. I thanked her for letting me know. The food is really good but the take out service stinketh. Do yourself a favor and call somewhere else if you are really wanting to have a meal. read more

Nasty place. We were sat at a table that had not been cleaned. They acted upset that we asked them to clean. As they were walking off I asked them to clean the chairs they swept the food on. They left then we noticed the video game on the table had dried food and finger prints all over it. It was never cleaned. We looked at each other and thought if it is this nasty in front of their customers then we can't image how nasty it was in the kitchen. We left. Never a word from waitress, hostess, or cleaning person about sorry we didn't clean it three times. My husband & I LOVE this place! Actually loved! We went a month ago there was green beans in his side. There was a French fry under the apples on his pork chop. Decided to give it another chance tonight. Cant have a frozen drink their machine is STILL broken. Cant have a raspberry lemonade. The machine is broken. Cant have broccoli & cheese casserole. They're out! At 6:30 pm they are out! Had a couple of shreds of cheese on my "loaded" baked potato. My loaded baked potato came with NO butter, NO sour cream, NO bacon bits. My husband baked potato was no better. He put the queso we had ordered as an appetizer in his potato. I have no idea what has happened to this place. BEFORE COVID EVERYTHING THERE WAS ON POINT! So I visited my local Odessa Cheddars this evening for happy hour. They serve a decent margarita for a great price, and what about having some dinner to go along with it, my review goes as follows.. First the service, we were quickly seated considering that it was a Friday evening and the parking lot seemed full. Our waitress quickly approached us to take our drink order as well as the entrees. The service was fairly decent, I mean the waitress had her times where she didn't drop by at least 15 minutes and we were in dire need of refills of water and sweet tea as well as Tabasco and chips for our dip. Putting this aside she did an ok job catering to our needs, quickly seated for a party of 10 and our food and beverage order was accurate so props for that! Secondly the food, I ordered the Maui Margarita after a hot day and running errands at work so I thought this would be a nice refresher. The margarita was decent, a bit too watery, not much ice or a slush like it should be so to enjoy it cold you have to drink it quick, which led to the hunger in my opinion. Afterwards I ordered the Keywest Chicken and Shimp (not pictured) and the chicken was grilled well, as for the shrimp perhaps a little more time on the grill would make it more flavorful, thank goodness for the Tabasco. Any way to wrap my review up the food was decent, nothing too exciting to brag about. OVERALL, THE FOOD, DRINKS AND ATMOSPHERE OF THIS PLACE GIVES YOU MORE FOR YOUR MONEY AND THE SERVICE IS FAIRLY GOOD, WOULD RECOMMEND IT IF YOUR CRAVING A TRADITIONAL AMERICAN SIT DOWN RESTAURANT! I don't leave reviews but I'm going to leave one today! I was going to call them but do they really even care? Probably not. Service around this area sucks in general but this was so bad. Placed an order at 6:20 and it said it would be ready at 7:30, hour and 10 mins for 2 orders. So okay whatever we placed it. Got there at 7:30 did the whole check in thing and waited 10 mins before we called. Then called after another 5 mins. They said it was because they are short. Okay i get that too but don't do curbside orders then, close it for that day‍ Had an hour and 10 mins to make some shrimp a small steak and a burger and some fries that the cheese was melted probably in the microwave because they were so hard and still "wasn't ready"? Got the food at 7:50! Get home and everything is cold! Had to heat everything up in the air fryer. Fries were hard ,everything else was cold so our order had been sitting there for who knows how long! Ridiculous! I knew i should've just made some Dino nuggets fml. Whoever was working closing grill/cook on December 13 needs to be fired or retrained immediately. We asked for two medium rare steaks and they both came out different colors, one was like eating the leather off my seats and the other just felt like we bit into a tire. Asked for extra cheese on a baked potato and they put a sprinkle, didn't even put bacon bits in the third one. Service was ALL over the damn place, was the waiter new? Who knows, the bartender was so overwhelmed with duties they could not perform correctly and kept messing up. Not their fault, why schedule 1 person during a busy hour? Terrible management, terrible service, TERRIBLE FOOD, and over just a terrible place. Never coming again. Fire management and PLEASE FIRE that cook. P.s New Orleans pasta noodles tasted like wet dog, no seasoning or flavor. You think black people wanna eat that shii? HE|| NO. Change the title to Alabama pasta bc that's some YT ppl shiii. I arrived today at Odessa went to my favorite restaurant, I've been there before, but this time it was horrible. It took them 15 minutes for a waiter get to me. They brought me a chicken pot that's been in the back for a while. Took another 7 min to get my drink didn't get my salad first nor my croissants. It was the worst experience ever. I'm not going back ever again. Even the waiter with long hair, I asked him who was going to take care of me he said me but I'll be with you in just a moment. Several waiters passed like nothing. Well my wife and I I've been going to Cheddar's at least 3 times a month in DFW for 27 years. I'm currently working in midland, traveled to Odessa to go to cheddars. The male hostess wouldn't get a booth for me to sit by myself. He said the wait was 45 minutes. There were maybe 10 cars n parking lot. I think he didn't want to sit me at a booth. I told him I was going somewhere else. That employee has no business sense by letting a customer walk out. I went to Chili's and got a booth right away. I won't hold it against Cheddars, I believe the service at this Cheddars needs some customer service. At least tell this employee that you do not let customers walk out the door especially in these times. read more

We have lived in Odessa for 4 years and we decided to go to Cheddars thinking maybe the setvice and food would be better then our last time there( Florence Kentucky). Everything is always so dirty. We were sat by the bar which isn't a big deal but from where we sat I could almost see in the bar. Everything was filthy in there. I could see residue even on the the small fridge where glasses are kept. My table was sticky and had crumbs still all over the seat and floor. There was a fork under the table. No reason the floor wasn't sept between seatings if it was that dirty. I ordered a small salad with my meal and over 3/4 if the salad was soggy. The only good thing was my meal was hot and cooked well. Honey mustard chicken? Waiter barely checked up on us and didn't keep our glasses full. Last night was a typical great dinner. Good service, the food is always delicious . Important points: 1-minute and we were greeted by Destiny, sweet girl, quick to ask for our order and bring us our drinks. 6-minutes later we got our spinach dip-really good. 13-minutes after that, the food came out. Crispy hand battered chicken, a great spare rib,and rib eye. Destiny asked for me to verify it was cooked as I liked it. It was, no need for steak sauce, the steak was amazing. Then, Michael (manager) came by to check on us. restaurant owners need to get their managers on the floor at the beginning/during the rush hour. Cheddars does that. I have been in Odessa for 3-years and Cheddars is the one place that consistently has good service and great food. If you ever have any concerns, ask for Michael (or any manager). The Cheddars Company wants to know. They can't fix it if you don't tell them. I always do, and they fix it every time. Thanks Guys, great time. When you get your food and order another drink and it NEVER comes, not to mention the server walked past us at least 6 times and said nothing ( no hey sorry it's taking forever even though it's 840pm on Wednesday!) we also had to ask for napkins and silverware when our food came... then when I ask for the manager and explain how the service is horribly slow we have finished our dinners and we never received our drinks he comes back and gives me the bill and informs me he gave us the appetizer off.... umm I gave you a free coupon for an appetizer and it was only $5.39. Then you said well I'll give you 10% off your bill and take those drinks off you never received ? But that was only $3.99 but I still got a bill for $55. so he did not justify anything. We usually come this this Cheddars every other week. We went last night and the waitress didn't come to our table til 10 minutes after being seated. They had no rolls(what I come for), they were out of three sides, and they had no butter for my potato(which they didn't tell me until after it got to our table) so I brought the potato home to eat so I can put my own butter on. Probably the worst service I've had in West Texas in 2 years....and that's pretty bad!! Came in before 10 pm, they weren't awfully busy but got sat in the bar at the high tops. No one acknowledged us for 30 minuets, then, a man came and took our drink order, then 15 minutes later a woman came and took our food order and re took our drink order. Waited another 5-10 minutes and didn't even receive our drinks. There were about 7 servers who walked by our table and didn't even acknowledge us. I have worked in many restaurants, managed one in Wyoming for 4 years....and have never had this bad of service. I would never allow this in one of my restaurants. I absolutely love cheddars and have eaten it in many different places. Really bad that shitty service makes for a bad review. read more

So I love Cheddar's. Like I love the food, I love going, and majority of the time we almost always have a good waiter/waitress. My only problem is if you call in food to the restaurant, they make you wait about 10 minutes before you come to someone who take your order. Pros: inexpensive, looked like a nice sit down place but we did take out. Cons: we called to place order to go and were transferred three times before getting to anyone. Hostess at the front wasn't warm and welcoming, our full order wasn't put in but luckily only the drink was missing. I ordered the Honey Dijon Chicken and it was VERY salty and overall everything tasted artificial, but maybe that's to be expected? My sister said a lot of people like this restaurant and it's good when you dine in but I didn't care for it. I would say you get what your pay for though and it is extremely inexpensive. Every time we drove by this place was always full, so we went for dinner this evening. The inside of the resturant is very pretty and clean. We were seat quickly, our server was friendly. We ordered an appetizer which was the spinach & artichoke dip, he said it'd be right out it took 20 mins. It was very yummy, I would get that again. We placed our orders, my husband ordered the New Orleans pasta & I ordered the smokehouse burger. The wait for our entrees was a little long but we were fine. My husband asked for the pasta without onions, he was told it's all pre made so they can't take them out. So my husband said that's fine bring it with the onions. Strange though because everywhere the note everything is made from scratch . Once our food came out we sat there for a few minutes without silverware or napkins. The food was tasty, the pasta was unique and full of flavor. My burger was also delicious, I would order again. We then shared the monster cookie dessert, it was the best part of the meal. Overall food was good, service needs some work. Several times we had to ask for refills or napkins, felt like staff consisted of new hires. They were very nice just very slow. read more
