The place was busy , we got sat like 30 mins after we walked . We sat in table 6 or 7 . We can see the expo window. While we waited for our food we notice a plate with pancakes . The manager ask around what table was waiting for pancakes . They put it in a tray right on a little table since no one claim them . The pancakes were left there where servers literally pass things in top of them , people talking over them people cleaning trays on top of them and no one say anything . We received our meal and ate. The food was high quality, I would call it elevated comfort food. My wife and i split a smash burger and a Frito Chilly pie appetizer. We had plenty to take home and have a second meal. The Frito chili pie was super delicious. Not saying the smash burger wasn't as it stood out on its own too.the servers were attentive and very kind. I meant to type this review when we immediately left as this place was certainly good review worthy, but we got distracted so I'm posting this now. We were Kate in the afternoon the place was clean, not crowded, it's inside a frost bank building but doesn't feel like it when you're in the restaurant I would say it is cute and quaint . Restaurant is expense for the serving quantities. They advertise that it is " authentic " Mexican food but it's not. Beans portion literally a spoon serving Rice portion a 2in by 2 inch ( 1/4 of a cup) Enchiladas sauce to tangy ( my opinion) Plates range 15.99 and higher. They cooked my eggs incorrectly. Atmosphere is tight . All in all Cool place something different. But not for us. Won't be returning. read more

The food is pretty high for what you get. There are no chips & salsa given while waiting for your food. If you want any salsa for your food, it comes in about a 2 oz stainless steel cup, and it is hotttt, but it is not free. It was bland and a very small amount. Very disappointed. Soft drinks and tea cost $4 & up. If you go, make reservations a few days in advance. We waited 1.25 hrs to be seated. It is a very small place. Parking is minimal. However, service was great once seated and they were very nice ladies. 2 stars given due to friendliness. read more

The place is the old Bank of America! I got lost trying to find it. The food was good! Had the flat enchiladas. The only thing was. Different was the cheese. They don't really melt it. I like mine melted but it don't ruin it! The service was great, waitress keeps your drinks full. And the ambiance is good too. Clean. Music going. Not loud , and smoothly flowing songs. My experience on Monday around 12:12pm Clean, friendly, great service, good prices for Midessa, very good quantity of food. To me feels like Mexico City/Puebla vibe. Food it's well presented and very tasty. This is another breakfast/ brunch I will recommend 100% The building it is small and cozy. Parking is not big, but manageable for F350. FYI. Absolutely delicious. Small but such a welcoming and comfortable spot. The grilled chicken with poblano sauce was cooked perfectly and the sauce was incredible. Next time I get the volcanes I will definitely be ordering the full plate. I recommend this spot to anybody who wants an authentic Mexican breakfast or lunch. read more

I had a great time here. The food was great! I just wished my food was spicer out of personal preference but my friend had some extra chile from her menudo and added it to my meal and it really elevated it to the next level for me. First time here and it is a gem in a former drive up bank on 8th street in Odessa. We will be back. My grilled chicken with poblano sauce was excellent. This is a great little hidden gem. Hard to find , behind the bank drive through lanes. A real standout , very authentic and charming Mexican food and a great price point. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. First you have to make a decision whether your going to make friends with the flies or fight them every minute you're there. Second, the queso fundido should be called queso fundillo. Las flautas were very small and you couldn't even tell the difference between them unless you looked inside them. Even though they still tasted bland. The frijoles and aroz are fake from a can and salty. The tea was ok even though it was city water. The only true thing that we liked were the corn tortillas. I go to Odessa out of necessity. I stumbled into this immaculate, charming cafe on accident while taking my mother to the doctor. What an absolute gem! The plate was beautifully presented. Whoever made it had serious knife skills. The flavors were clean, fresh, nothing overly seasoned, lovingly prepared. It's better food than you get in west Texas pretty much anywhere, even the expensive fancy places. And the prices were less than your average chain crap-depot. It's family-run. This place is somebody's hard-won dream, and I intend to eat there every time I have to go to the city. My God! Real, authentic Mexican food that's chef-prepared! Unheard of out here! Do not go for their special events. We went for valentines dinner and it was over priced and just awful. He ordered the 20 oz heart shaped ribeye and got a thin overcooked flank steak. I ordered the quail and it was also overcooked with a side of charred corn that they forgot to season. They kept bringing the wrong things to us. Brought us a salad when we ordered soup. Brought me the wrong dessert and I had to point it out on the menu after she said they didn't have that. So disappointing. I was excited to eat here for dinner. Never again. Complete money grab. The restaurant is cute. The staff is friendly. Took about 5 min. To be acknowledged and another ten min. To be seated. The food is pricey and portions are small. But it was good. I ordered chilaquiles rojas for $11.99. It came with a side of beans. It was literally one fried corn tortilla, red salsa and crema. The food was a cold on the edges but warm in the middle, good but not filling. Husband had a burrito with beans and choice of quiso. That was a good price and a good portion. I went by because a lot of people spoke highly about this place. It's too small and gets pretty crowded. Chips were stale. The tortillas for my fish tacos were cold. The tomato and onion used for their pico de gallo were a few days old. You could tell it wasn't fresh. I think they try too hard on the presentation of their plates that the quality of the food fails. Only thing that was good was my Mexican coke. Won't go there again! read more
