I ordered delivery through DoorDash. Everything was really good! I debated between the flautas and tamales but got the flautas. They were great. I am a chips and dip sort of gal, so I tried the hot sauce and chips, queso and chips, chori queso, and extra refried beans. Normally my fave is chori queso, but My fave this time was the hot sauce mixed with the queso. Don't get me wrong, I still appreciated the chori queso! I would order both of them again. Went here for lunch and was very shocked to find out that they charge for chips and salsa! I have never seen that from a Mexican food restaurant, especially in west Texas. The waitress was not friendly and ignored our table. My plate was shrimp tacos and the corn tortillas were dripping in grease and this plate was $20. I had the small bowl of caldo de pollo and it was really good. Had good flavor. As for my husband he had the large bowl caldo de Res and he was screwed with a bunch of bone & a little bit of meat. They gave him 5 bones. The caldo was pretty poor in flavor. I poured the rest of my juice in his bowl to give it better flavor. This is not the first time of being cheated with the meat. The layout and ambiance is great. Obviously it used to be a house. I like this type restaurants. As far as service the guy behind the counter didnt greet. There was an akward 5 second stare and I finally said "for two" and he said ok and walked away and didnt take us to a chair or say anything finally i followed him and asked where and he said anywhere. Really like this place...been here twice now. I like the atmosphere (it's a cute little house with a big parking lot) albeit odd sometimes to eat in a sparsely decorated converted back bedroom in very close quarters to your dining neighbors....as a Californian I have grown quite fond of my personal space bubble, but close quarters in West Texas is rarely if ever uncomfortable because the people are so darn friendly. The couple at the table next to us helped us order our lunch! The place is always packed...A large portion of the lunch staff do not speak English well and a smaller portion seemed to understand it (we had 4 servers, and only 1 was flawlessly fluent.) HOWEVER, considering we were at an authentic Mexican restaurant in search of authentic food, the language barrier is reassuring instead of discouraging. And our order got to us quickly & correctly. I had the ground beef tacos - good - but not Rosa's good. Hubby got the Mexican Plate at the recommendation of server #3, which he really enjoyed. You get chips & salsa, which is too spicy for my palate, but then I can't handle much...probably why NO Mexican restaurant will ever live up to the all powerful Rosa's in my eyes. The queso at Delicia's is to die for however, white cheese dip with just the right kick to it. It's downtown so good for a business lunch or dinner before a show at the Ector. Delicias is just plain delicious. Great authentic Tex Mex. I havent been back to Odessa for a while, but this is a great place. How do you know if you found it? You've arrived at a house with a filled parking lot. They have the best caldo out of any restaurant I have ever been to- comfort food at its finest. You can't go wrong with any of their lunch specials. My favorite dish besides the caldo is the asado (it reminds me of the one I get at home). The portions are large and it is very cheap for the amount of food you get. You will notice laborers who need high caloric meals coming and going from Delicias. Its great food. Not too much chili spice, but a fair amount of heat mixed in with some sweetness that I think came from the fresh made corn tortilla. I'm giving the tacos 5 stars. They have a variety of soups and we're already put of the beef soup, so I had the chicken. The large was enormous and came with huge vegetable pieces and full pieces of chicken, the leg, the wing, etc. The salsa was excellent and the staff fast and friendly.
