Not really a complainer 14$ for my dinner plate 12$ for my wife's dinner plate. Food is mid for the most part. we order a small side of beans and rice for my daughter which was 12$.! So you mean to tell me my whole dinner plate that came with 2 smothered burritos beans and rice cost the same amount as a small side plate of beans and rice that's a little out of pocket. Also 3$ for the sweet tea then get my daughter a small sweet tea which was also 3$. Service was fine yes until it was time to go then All the servers were blind. So yes I'm complaining about mediocre food, service and prices. A 30 35$ max meal came out to 51$.! read more

This was my second time here... last time it was for breakfast, but this time I had lunch. Side note they close at 2, so get here before then. The chips and salsa was pretty tasty...particularly the salsa. It was very fresh and tasted homemade. The chips could've used some salt, but they did the job. I ordered the 'condessa' meal which had a ton of things on it including two cheese enchiladas, a chili relleño, a taco, and guacamole. I love cheese enchiladas and these didn't let me down. The red sauce was really spicy which I loved. Should I be back in the area, I'll definitely have to stop by again. read more

I tried this place for the first time. I ordered the Dayra? lunch plate or something like that. It came with a beef chile relleno, 2 beef flautas, 1 green chicken enchilada, rice and beans. The only thing that I liked on my plate was the beef chile relleno. The meat in the flautas and enchiladas tasted weird....like it was old. I dunno like the beef didnt even taste like beef in the flautas.... the extra star is for the chips and salsa being good. read more

Love trying out different small Mexican food places. This place is tucked away in a residential/industrial area east of downtown. The restaurant is small and intimate. There are only 8 tables. I came in on a Saturday around 9:39 and the place was half empty though. The service is meh. Pretty average. Didn't impress me. Drink order was quick to come out. I read other reviews about their salsa so I was eager to try it out. I tried to order chips and salsa with an appetizer of quest as well. I was told they don't serve chips and salsa during the morning hours. Really? This is the first Mexican restaurant I've seen that at. Considering many plates are topped with salsa and chips (Midas for example), it would seem they could serve chips, salas, and queso for breakfast. Main plate came out fairly quickly. Looks kinda bland. I got the Juanito's which was two corn tortillas topped with a fried egg and cheese topped with pico de gallo. Served with beans, bacon and potatoes. Everything needed salt. The beans taste like they were just warmed up right out the can. The potatoes had no taste, just boiled potatoes that looked like they were grilled for maybe 15 seconds. The grilled onions on the eggs weren't caramelized. I wasn't impressed at all, I didn't even want to finish the plate. To make matters worse, the chips and salsa I was craving, I saw her served to a table that showed up about 10 minutes after me. I had enough. Check please. I asked the waitress why they didn't serve it and she told me it wasn't ready yet. Guess it got ready in the 10 minutes between when I tried to order it and the next table over. The courtesy to tell me it was finished being prepared so I could taste it could have been nice. I'd like to try this place for lunch before I totally throw them under the bus but it'll be hard to come back. Menu is like any other Mexican food place. There's too many Mexican food restaurants in midland to waste my time on this one. read more

This is my favorite Mexican place in Midland. Seriously, I think some of the 2-star reviews are people trying to keep other customers away from this place. La Condesa is family-run, with the grandmothers in the kitchen. They have very limited seating, so arrive early. Don't be put off if there are a lot of cars in the parking lot and on the street -- there are often 20+ vehicles here and only 15 people inside the restaurant. Go figure. The salsa is fresh made (daily) and varies a little bit in heat and chunkiness. But it's always so good. Pricing is about in line with other places in Midland. Everyone at work knows this is my favorite lunch place in town... now the secret is out! read more

All the breakfast meals are delicious. The tortillas are home made but eat them fast because once they get cold they get brittle. Overall it's a cheap and delicious breakfast. As far as service goes it is normal like they have it at any other restaurant in midland. read more

This has been here almost 3yrs, portion size was big, you won't leave hungry. Inside is small so come yearly, they serve breakfast all day but not open past 2:00pm. Food was super, price is average , service was friendly & good. We plan on going more, inside is very nice & clean, smoke free. Good menu!! read more

What a find!! I'm fairly new to the area ! I continue to try new (to me ) places for breakfast ,lunch and dinner(and in between ha!) I am pleased to write this review for this lovely authentic , seemingly family owned/operated restaurant . I ordered two burritos to go for breakfast this morning . I had the chili relleno and egg burrito and my husband's was a barbacoa burrito. Absolutely WONDERFUL ! Both were delicious ! I may like to add that my husband is very particular about his barbacoa burritos and does not like change ..as he usually gets his favorite from another local establishment . He text me from work and said "it was GREAT". With the perfect combination of friendly , informative staff and mouth watering authentic Mexican food I am pleased to take time to write this review! 5 stars! I will definitely be back ! read more

Not many places to have breakfast in Midland on a Saturday morning, so we ended up here. Sat at a table that smelled like it had just been cleaned with a dirty bleach rag. Ordered menudo, which did not taste clean and had a funky smell- came with a small basket with one piece of bread. Asked for another piece of bread and found they had charged extra for it. We also ordered huevos rancheros which came with a stale flour tortilla on the side and watery refried beans. The eggs had a skimpy little drizzle of sauce on them. Asked for salsa and waitress returned with a tiny plastic container of wimpy green salsa. Every table around us had been given chips and a red salsa, yet we never got any. $30 breakfast for crap food and sh*t service. Sad excuse for an overpriced Mexican breakfast. Have been wanting to try this place out as reviewed well on Trip Advisor, the 2 of us arrived about 1:pm on Saturday Feb 13, 2016 and there were people at 2 other tables. A waitress took our drink orders. A bit mixed up on those but no biggie, after awhile another waitress took our food order, mine was a mixture, other was enchiladas. The salsa was okay but the chips were those thick heavy ones and we both prefer the thin ones. I had brisket in my tacos and my enchiladas with green sauce and it would have been very good and tasty except much too salty, as were the frijoles. Neither of us tried the rice. Everything was very salty and so didn't really enjoy the meal but we were hungry so ate them. Neither waitress ever made a check back and BF's sweet tea was first served less than half full, so he asked for more tea and the check at the front as we were leaving and they said they were out, hence the small amount served at beginning. I had made a washroom visit and there was no TP, so I had to use paper towels from a roller lying on a shelf. All in all, poor service and food ruined by way too much salt. Too bad as it would be easy to correct and have a great Mexican food place. read more
