    Elfida plate was awesome!

Hidden Gem, this is a hole in the wall but well worth the stop. I think I have tried every Mexican place in town and this by far is the best.

La Condesa is our go to restaurant for amazing Mexican Food! The food is delicious, quick service and friendly staff. The lunch hour can get busy as it is a local favorite.

10.99 chile relleno, green chile chicken enchilada, and beef flautas.

I tried this place for the first time. I ordered the Dayra? lunch plate or something like that. It came with a beef chile relleno, 2 beef flautas, 1 green chicken enchilada, rice and beans. The only thing that I liked on my plate was the beef chile relleno. The meat in the flautas and enchiladas tasted weird....like it was old. I dunno like the beef didnt even taste like beef in the flautas.... the extra star is for the chips and salsa being good.

    Breakfast menu.

Love trying out different small Mexican food places. This place is tucked away in a residential/industrial area east of downtown. The restaurant is small and intimate. There are only 8 tables. I came in on a Saturday around 9:39 and the place was half empty though. The service is meh. Pretty average. Didn't impress me. Drink order was quick to come out. I read other reviews about their salsa so I was eager to try it out. I tried to order chips and salsa with an appetizer of quest as well. I was told they don't serve chips and salsa during the morning hours. Really? This is the first Mexican restaurant I've seen that at. Considering many plates are topped with salsa and chips (Midas for example), it would seem they could serve chips, salas, and queso for breakfast. Main plate came out fairly quickly. Looks kinda bland. I got the Juanito's which was two corn tortillas topped with a fried egg and cheese topped with pico de gallo. Served with beans, bacon and potatoes. Everything needed salt. The beans taste like they were just warmed up right out the can. The potatoes had no taste, just boiled potatoes that looked like they were grilled for maybe 15 seconds. The grilled onions on the eggs weren't caramelized. I wasn't impressed at all, I didn't even want to finish the plate. To make matters worse, the chips and salsa I was craving, I saw her served to a table that showed up about 10 minutes after me. I had enough. Check please. I asked the waitress why they didn't serve it and she told me it wasn't ready yet. Guess it got ready in the 10 minutes between when I tried to order it and the next table over. The courtesy to tell me it was finished being prepared so I could taste it could have been nice. I'd like to try this place for lunch before I totally throw them under the bus but it'll be hard to come back. Menu is like any other Mexican food place. There's too many Mexican food restaurants in midland to waste my time on this one.

The reason it missed the 5-star mark with me was our waitress was slow to do everything. Even with taking our drink order. Then our food order. The worst was waiting for my final bill. And then she forgot our takeout box for my youngest. I don't know why she didn't have a greater sense of responsiveness with our party of 3, but it was like this the entire duration of our meal on July 25, 2026. It was super frustrating! The other reason I knocked off a star off was because the towel dispenser was depleted in the lone restroom. I had to flag down an employee with drenched hands. THE PROS I called about 20 minutes ahead of time to reserve a table because I knew this brassiere was on the small side. The lady on the phone was courteous and professional. If you have a hot date, I highly recommend reservations particularly in the evening. This seems like that sort of place. When we arrived, I found free street parking a short walk away. We were promptly greeted and seated. To enter the restaurant, you must go inside the Frost Bank tower's lobby, but to exit there is a door just beyond the bar. This place has beautiful, eclectic decor. The bar area was somewhat rounded and has an easygoing, but classy feel to it. THE FOOD The ambiance is what made this a great mother/daughters brunch date. The food sets it apart from the majority of restaurants in this oil industry town. The have East Coast-sourced oysters on the menu! These are far superior to their West Coast counterparts. I would have opted for these for our app if it weren't for my minions, I mean children. Pigs in a Blanket ($15.00) - yet another appetizer my daughters pigged out on that I didn't get to try. And they said they weren't that hungry! Lies all lies. They looked divine with nicely cooked juicy sausage and everything seasoning on the pastries. Avo Toast ($11.50) - my newly-turned teen daughter and I both had our own. I opted for eggs over easy which were cooked nicely. She oddly chose scrambled eggs for her, but she ate pretty much all of it. Smashed Burger ($17) - my youngest had this and said it was excellent. Nice touch with an American flag planted into the top bun. For the umpteenth time she did not share a fry with me. It is what it is. Mocha latte ($5.00) - my youngest's birthday which I will be missing since she'll be visiting her father is coming up so this was a treat for her. I tried it. Quite good after being thoroughly stirred. 1988 Martini ($18) - pricey but oh so good. The olives stuffed with bleu cheese were not bad. I had to try it even though the thought of bleu cheese kind of turned me off. Lol. Will I return? Of course because I have faith it will be 5 stars next time. Look at the other raving reviews! I ordered the chicken fried chicken that includes a house salad. When I didnt receive it, I asked the server said "I didnt think you wanted it." I said "If it comes w/the meal then YES I want it." She walked off with attitude. The mash potatoes that came with the meal looked brown and watery. When I asked what was it she said, "It's just a LOT butter." I looked at her confused, she huffed and walked away while I was still looking at her. I wanted "mashed" potatoes not butter potatoes. My fiance' order biscuits n gravy. He said "It tasted like Dollar Store gravy in a can." Lol Needless to say he tried to eat it but could only get 1/3 of it down. Then we overheard the diners behind us complaining about the pancake taste and the fact they they were the size of old-school LP albums and WHO could eat that much bread. Lol. After trying to eat this "food"...we just couldn't, Then waited at the table for 15 minutes for a To-Go box for my chicken fried (because that was the only thing really edible) we watched the servers play on their cell phones, not paying attention to customers. My fiance had to get up, interrupt their conversation and ask for box. So me being petty, when we paid I didn't leave a tip and if the server had asked why, I would've replied, "Because I didn't think you wanted one!" And where is the other "tomboyish" looking server that used to work there? She was funny, hospitable and knew how run that place! The crew we dealt with today... Absolutely unacceptable. * Dine at your own risk. ;)

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary the weekend we went, so this place became a new memory for us. My husband loves burgers and I love breakfast. We were trying to find a place in Midland that could serve both of our cravings, and we ended up finding our favorite place to eat! I only ate half of my meal and my husband made it through his burger ha! Also, if y'all are wanting hot sauce, ask for the house salsa. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. The restaurant has been owned by the same family for two generations. The ambiance is a casual, family-friendly time warp with the best food in Midland! Try to take pictures with the novelty items inside and the murals outside. It was such a great experience!
