So, allow me to preface my review by saying I am new to Odessa (after a year and a half I still feel like I am on a different planet AND FOR GOOD REASON). Since moving to the ugliest place on earth and may as well be annexed by Mexico (the crime is what it is because odessa is a victim to illegal immigration...the entire country is, but Odessa is exceptionally affected), I have struggled to find good food from a restaurant. Having said that, you will appreciate my review. First, the waitress spoke ENGLISH! Most restaurants in Odessa season food so hot (spicy) that you taste nothing over fire! Copper Kettle isn't like that. They are a normal restaurant with regular food that you would expect to find on a breakfast menu or your grandmother's table. I had homemade biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and hash browns. A+(mazing)! My handsome husband to be had an omelette and pancake and he loved it. Now, we have three restaurants we love: Brantley Creek BBQ, The Marriott Hotel Restaurant and Copper Kettle! These are not on order. Brantley Creek is the best BBQ I have ever had, but it is not necessarily the "nicest" place to eat out; we actually get it to-go because we don't like to exercise while eating (fly swooshing) and BC BBQ is an outdoor restaurant. When we want nice, we go to the Marriott...and their bar is great...Marvin...I think that was the bartender's name, but one of them has a special drink with limes and vodka...muah (chef‍kiss)! And Copper Kettle...I wish the name was better...Copper's Kettle...that is what I thought it was...and why I went...I thought it was where the police go to eat and maybe owned by a British couple ("copper"). Anyway, we will return and try their lunch. They have a special each day written on a menu board. There is also a bakery aspect to the restaurant. Upon entering, there is an old-fashioned bakery case/display full of cookies and muffins...we will try it all! You should too! read more

This, is the one of the best restaurants I've ever been, EVER. I definitely gained like 5 pounds. A thing I recommend is the French toast, WITH chocolate chips! The vibe was nice and cooling, perfect for special occasions. The service was fast and quick. And the employees cook the food to ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! And some of the employees are very friendly! I was in Odessa for a concert and looked for a place to have breakfast. Due to our location Yelp suggested this restaurant. When we arrived the place was packed with I typically consider a really good sign. We asked one of the locals if it was with the wait and was given a resounding yes. Since we are from out of town, and we're told that it would be a 30-45 minute wait my wife stayed to get the table while I went to the hotel to pack and check out. I was only gone about 15 minutes when my wife called me that she had been seated, but the server (server #5) was giving her a hard time because I wasn't there. I told her to go ahead and order for both of us and that I would be there in about 5-10 minutes. The sever was fairly rude and made my wife feel very anxious. When I arrived he was still giving us attitude. After all of that the food came out and was really good, and the coffee was honestly the best restaurant coffee I've had in a very long time. The restaurant was clean and appealing to the eye. another server was great and kept topping off my coffee which helped keep it really hot and tasty. This would have been a 5 star review had it not been for the servers attitude and rudeness to my wife. Given the Fact that during this pandemic, the waiters ansd cooking staff have to take precautions and make sure they are up to code. This is not IHOP or Dennys, so price is moderatly more for finer dining. Aside from the Long waiting time at the table for our food, it was well worth the wait when everything was brought out to us. Pancakes were spot on, green chilli chicken omelete was delicious!. Order of eggs was made exactly to my liking. Again no complaints on food quality, if your willing to be patient and wait. What a great place! The food was absolutely wonderful with large portions. The chicken fried chicken was done perfectly with lots of gravy, my wife had the catfish and it was way too much to finish. This was the worst food I've had. I ordered an avocado grilled cheese, mixed veggies and a water. The grilled cheese had American cheese and two thinly sliced pieces of avocado. The veggies were frozen and boiled to the point of me not being able to pick them up with a fork without them falling off. The color of the broccoli and the cauliflower were about the same. My FAVORITE restaurant in the Permian. I'm a serious breakfast eater and this place is the best. Great job to the owners and staff. This review is for the restaurant only. My wife really likes the baked sweets upfront, but I'm more of a like them straight out of the home oven kind of guy so I'm biased in that sense. The restaurant is awesome though. You won't regret it. Just good homemade breakfast and service, nothing fancy, not expensive. Just wish they were open for dinner so I could go more often. We were excited to try this new restaurant for lunch. The first bad sign that this place was going to be awful was the coffee cup had lipstick stains on it! Second, we ordered 2 BLT sandwiches with fries. The bacon was cold and same with the fries!! Our waitress never once came back to ask how we were doing. Great every time I've been. The big boy omelette is delicious and substantial. With that salsa the flavors of the onion, jalapeño and meats mingle nicely. Plus their hash browns are always perfectly crispy on top. Not to mention it tides me over during work all day AND they are open Sunday which I really appreciate. Sometimes they are a bit slow but I think it's a sales tactic to force you to stare at their delectable desert pastry display. The apricot cookie and lemon tart are both especially good. You can tell there is a lot of love there and it cultivates a cute and cozy atmosphere that makes you feel welcome.
