Additionally, when I went inside, the first thing the two men behind the counter did was make fun of what I was wearing, asking me questions like "did you sleep in your clothes?" Good thing they can bake well because that's about all they have going for them. Will not be going back.

There's a clear difficulty in taking orders and it seemed like the cashier was confused in taking an order that included both pastries and a meal. There's no napkins or silverware, and when we asked for napkins the cashier pulled out a roll of paper towels and ripped off two sheets of the roll to give me. We ordered a Combo torta that includes a soft drink from the fridge, and we asked for cups of tap water, for which we were told no, and that we'd need to buy water bottles instead. Food itself is fine, but not worth the price at all.

Do not let the old reviews of this place scare you. They are from back when there was a previous…read moreowner. Everything about this bakery has been completely redone from top to bottom and the owner is completely about her customers! Believe me when I tell you that she is about bending over backwards to make the impossible happen! Just while I was waiting, she took two GIANT custom cake orders for the NEXT morning and said, "Don't worry. I'll make it happen. Anything for my customers!" I made the mistake of waiting until the VERY last minute to get cake for my husband's birthday (as in 1.75 hours before our dinner reservation) so I grabbed 4 slices of pink cake from their glass cake to take with us while the kids were happily entertained by the posters of cakes she has previously done and then they played at the kids play station! Let me tell you - everything in the case is baked that very day and extremely moist and delicious! We took the cake with us to Cowboy Prime in Midland, the restaurant by Celebrity Chef, Graham Elliott, and the entire staff from our drink waitress to the maitre'd and the sous chef kept looking at the cake as they walked by our table, talking about how scrumptious it looked when they served their own very expensive dessert (and I only paid $1 per slice)! I also ordered 5 dozen cupcakes for the next day for a surprise birthday party for my husband at his workplace, which I had to add an additional dozen cupcakes to at the last second from the display case at pickup, making it 6 dozen total. Every single person who ate every single one of those 72 individual cupcakes RAVED about how they were the most moist, delicious cupcakes they had ever had and how they must have been incredibly expensive! I only paid $1 per cupcake and I agree - they were way better than cupcakes that I've paid $6-$8/each for back when I was living in Albuquerque! The owner is the baker and her sons work there with her. I received extremely wonderful customer service every single encounter, with one of her sons carrying the cupcakes to my car and anchoring them upon pick up. They also serve coffee in the morning, other pastries, and even sell snow cones! Bottom line: this bakery is one of the best kept secrets being slept on in Odessa and so many people are missing out! Don't be one of the people overpaying for dry cake somewhere else!

Also, I waited in line for 30 minutes because they opened late and a truck pulls up and idles their exhaust all over us just to skip the line and get a dozen boxes of whatever while we get to walk in and pick from two different items.
