I took my parents here for cocktails and dinner. The waitresses we had were super sweet! Kesha was on her third day and did wonderful! A second waitress helped us pick out our drinks, and she was right on the mark. I had a Maui margarita with a shot of cactus juice. It was delicious. The portion sizes are huge for the price! My mom had a problem with her steak however. It had some sort of chemical taste, like it was being kept warm with butane. Our waitress helped out right away and told her manager, but the manager didn't show up until my father and I had already finished eating. He was a bit rude and accusatory. Great prices for the amount of food you get. I love their pot pie. It's always good. Ribs, wow you get alot for a full order. My husband likes their lunch portion of the salmon entree. We've tried their country fried steak, although a very large portion, the breading is, um, just okay. The chicken fingers and onion rings appear to be a real crowd pleaser as many servers were seen walking by and serving these dishes to various customers throughout the restaurant. WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER! My wife and I used to dine at Cheddar's in Gainesville, Georgia several times a month, however after this chain was taken over by the same company that owns Red Lobster and Olive Garden the service and food quality declined significantly, as it has with both of those restaurants. We still dined there from time to time just to see if the quality had improved only to find it had not. In fact, it continued to decline. We gave it one last chance this past week (July 27, 2018) only to receive the worst service and food ever! We arrived when the restaurant first opened only to be told we would have to wait 15 or so minutes to be seated. There were very few people there at the time and most of the tables were available. We waited 25 minutes to be called. The hostess didn't seem to like our request to sit in a particular area but reluctantly had us seated there. We waited another 20 minutes before our waitress took our order. She seemed stressed from trying to wait on all the tables. This is another point, this locale has diminished their wait staff immensely. There used to be an abundance of prompt and courteous staff to take orders and deliver food. We waited over 30 minutes for our food to be delivered only to find it cold. We had to wait another 15 minutes before the waitress came back in our area. She said she would take care of it. After waiting only several minutes she returned with food that had obviously been microwaved and of course tough and dry. By this time we were so hungry that we ate a few bites but simply could not stand it so we paid for our meal after having to flag the waitress down for our bill. We returned home to make some fresh sandwiches which were much better. We shall never go to Cheddar's to dine again! read more

The food is okay, the service is okay... what really gets me is that they say they have outdoor seating, but every time my boyfriend and I want to sit outside we choose Cheddar's and their outside is ALWAYS closed. It's sunny and 75 and it's closed, it's always closed when it's nice outside. We have left 7 times because of this. Absolutely ridiculous. How do you have a outside and not seat it? This place is amazing. I NEVER give 5 stars to a casual restaurant but I did here. We pass this place every week on the way to our Lake Lanier place. There is always a line out front so we usually drive on. But this weekend we decided "what the heck, we're not in a hurry". The hostess said "30 minute wait" - we were seated in 10. Service was impeccable. Our waitress was always there just when we needed her but she wasn't pushy. Drinks, salad and meal all came very quickly. We were actually in and out in just over 30 minutes yet we never felt rushed. We could have taken it slower if we wished - nobody was pushing us - it's just that they were so efficient and attentive that everything went quickly. Food was excellent! Prices are amazing for this type restaurant. My wife and I ate (with iced tea) for $28. That's about what I usually pay at the 'el cheapo' Mexican restaurant near my home. read more

As with any restaurant service will depend on the employees. The food quality however should remain a constant good or better standard levels. Cheddars in Gainesville GA matches great food quality with reasonable prices, something a lot of other food establishments need to take notes on. Luckily I live less than a quarter mile from this Cheddars and frequent often. Also my family has a running joke that there is always a line out the door at Cheddars. If that doesn't say a lot about this Cheddars' food and service being constantly good I don't know what does. I really want to start off saying that the food we got from Cheddars was actually super delicious and I would absolutely buy from them again just based on that. However, we ordered take out since we had a super busy day and the kids were being a bit crazy. We got home and noticed several items weren't included. We had to drive all the way back just to find out they were out of one of the items, fries. They didn't even tell us, they just didn't include it though we paid for it. How do you run out of fries? The other item was rice and we were able to get that one. No reason for that not being included. It was all cold by the time we finally ate, and it was just a bad experience overall. We ate lunch at Cheddars today and were quite disappointed. It took 40 min to get our food after ordering (we got there at 1:20 so we avoided most of the lunch rush). Let me just start off by saying that I have an extremely strong stomach. I can't even remember the last time that I got sick off of food, and I eat out often. My family even jokes about how I have an iron stomach. Well, I was no match for Cheddars. For reference I got onion rings and 4 sides + a salad (counts as an entree). While everything tasted good, I regret eating it so much. First food poisoning experience has been brutal to say the least... Hope Cheddars can clean up their kitchen and watch out for issues, because the food actually tasted good but the problems it has caused me, the "iron stomach," was devastating. Consistently good service and food and good prices. There have been a couple of times where we've gotten really awful service (like waiting almost an hour for a server to come to the table to greet us and get our drink order) but that's maybe twice out of years of coming here regularly. The salmon is cooked to perfection. The croissants are so yummy!!! Have tried several items on the menu and it's all been good. One thing: they've recently stopped offering Thousand Island dressing for salads (which is my 80 yr-old mother's favourite) and that has turned her off somewhat to going there now. I hope they'll reconsider and bring it back because she used to try and go there at least once a week. read more

We visited for my husband's birthday and had horrible experience. First of all, ordered a children's plate for our 3 year old, and received an adult portioned plate. Secondly, our drinks went unfilled throughout the evening. Lastly, we watched our server bribe the busboy to clean off his tables first (at 8:30pm on a Wednesday?). Our server was not interested in helping the night be a pleasant evening and this was reflected by the poor quality of service and atmosphere. Wrote the manager regarding the service and experience, and NEVER received a response! We will not return. There are many other eating establishments in Gainesville and else where that would appreciate our business and respond to our inquiries in a timely manner. I've been at this restaurant in past and always walked away satisfied, but my latest visit was totally disappointing. My meal was bourbon glaze salmon with fries & carrots on the side, a meal I've had in past. To begin with the Salmon was overcooked and the fries were warm, not hot, and appeared to have been sitting in a warm bucket or under a heat lamp for sometime. I did enjoy the carrots, hard to mess that up, and the rice. Very poor experience won't be visiting for while. read more
