Honey Butter Croissants (Lunch, March 2024, free).
    Laura S.

01.04.25. We had actually planned to go to a different restaurant but the traffic on Plank Road was a mess, with many emergency vehicles and bumper-to-bumper slow traffic. Cheddar's was nearby, and we hoped that the traffic situation would be resolved by the time we finished our lunches. (It was). We were seated quickly, and were given our menus and two yummy honey butter croissants (gratis, 440 calories). I opted for the Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad ($12.49), which features lemon pepper chicken, penne pasta, romaine lettuce and croutons (860 calories). My rating for this dish is 3/5. It was fine, but a little heavy on the dressing, and light on the chicken. It was as advertised, but a bit boring with so few ingredients. My husband opted for the Chicken Alfredo which was served with garlic bread ($14.79). This dish also included penne pasta, broccoli, and homemade Alfredo sauce (1,540 calories). My husband also rated his meal as 3/5. He said it was good enough but feels that Olive Garden has similar meals that are a better value because they include unlimited salad and breadsticks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated in a booth in a separate room on the left, that felt quite isolated. In fact, if another couple wasn't seated near us, we not have seen our waitress or the activity of the restaurant again[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Finally, a personal pet peeve for this and some other restaurants .... There has been increased pressure to tip more generously. The suggested gratuity "provided for your convenience" on the receipt first listed 22%, then 20%, and finally 18%. The old standard of 15% seems to have disappeared. Parking was free and plentiful, and provided easy access to/from Plank Road.

I ordered off the app and it said it was ready at 5:05. I got there and checked in and waited 10 minutes and still nothing. I walked in to see about it and waited a few more minutes. I then checked it and I ordered the chicken tenders with two sides. The sides are getting so small it's not worth the money they are charging. This is not worth going here anymore.

Been here twice. Great food and great service both times. The butter croissants are tasty. The Buffalo shrimp were surprising "fire" as the kids would say. The chicken sandwich was juicy and with a tasty batter.

I was finally able to make a visit. Theres plenty of parking lot, off Plank Rd (Rt. 3), in front of Sportsman and next to Dunkin. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As you walked in, restaurant is clean, full bar on your right and dining areas all around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered 3 items: 1) Classic Burger 2) Buffalo Beer Battered Shrimp 3) Monte Cristo. When you get seated, you will be asked if you want a croissant. I am glad I said yes, the croissant was airy, fluffy, had a nice crunch of the outer layer and drizzle with honey butter. When the buffalo shrimp arrived to the table with 8 pieces and cocktail sauce. It was so perfectly fried that you can even eat the tail. It was delicious. The monte cristo comes in four, stuffed with smoked ham, smoked turkey, cheese and served with a ramekin of raspberry preserves. This dish alone with fill you up because it's very heavy and rich. It tastes good with or without the jam. The classic burger was very good and prepare it to your liking. The burger was juicy, tender and delicious. I had impeccable service by my server Callie P. She was friendly, attentive, genuine and knowledgeable. I would definitely make a return visit to try other items on their menu.

Decided to finally try Cheddars. Was greeted as I entered and was quickly seated. The waitress was super friendly and brought me a fresh Croissant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining area was pleasant but I happened to be seated next to a large group that was a little loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But other than that it's a nice place to eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the country fried chicken with a loaded baked potato and corn. Food came out promptly and was hot. The meal was delicious and plenty of food. I ended up spending about $20 with taxes included. The menu is varied with something for everyone.

First time trying Cheddars. We did have a large table that we were waiting on. I arrived early to make sure we got our table and unfortunately,no one could be seated till at least 1/2 of the table arrives. This lunch was supposed to be to be a surprise, thank god, our guest of honor was running late. Food was good. Loved the croissants. They were a nice change for table food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe was good. We were able to eat , drink and spend time together.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Didn't get to try too much, stuck to the appetizers. Drinks were super good,

I was excited to see there is a Cheddar's so close. I came after the major lunch crowd. Looks upbeat and hasn't been opened that long. I didn't wait long to be seated and I asked for the bar area in a booth since they had smaller booths and it was just me. Bar tender took my order. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I did ask for onion rings but they no longer have them. I opted for the chicken tenders with hot sauce on the side. Came out not that long after. Food looked cooked until I cut into the tenders and it was pretty cool not steaming hot. It was like the tenders were cooked and then the fries weren't ready at the same time. I let the bartender know and she went to the kitchen to get me some more. I continued to eat my fries and slaw while I waited. Manager brought the new plate back out with more slaw and fries. She came back a few minutes later to see if the temp was right. It was. It's the little things that make a lasting memory. Will I be back? Yes.

Overall, I think Cheddar's is nicer than the other chain restaurants. My husband and I were traveling to get on to 95 to go back South, but we needed a bite to eat. Cheddar's seated us right away. Our server was very nice, and she checked on us regularly. I had the Key West chicken and shrimp, which I thought was very tasty. The sauce and seasoning was delicious. The rice soaked up the sauce, which was super yummy. I loved the pineapple pico de gallo. My husband got the garlic tilapia and shrimp, which was also tasty. The croissants were nice and flakey, and the honey butter drizzled on was nice. The ambiance is a typical restaurant. An overall good experience with healthy options and tasty food.

EXACT RATE- 4.5/5 SERVER- Eric (6/5 server!) Came here with a friend for a night bite and wasn't disappointed! FOOD- Spinach dip and Cheddar broccoli casserole They start you off with this glazed croissant... delicious, they charge for extras I'm pretty sure. I wasn't too hungry because I had dinner a few hours prior so I stuck to an appetizer and side. The dip was delicious! It comes with salsa on the side. The casserole was o.k. Nothing crazy. I could probably make something exactly the same at home using rice broccoli and the singles cheese slice. SERVICE- Amazing! We came in 30 minutes before closing and Eric was still attentive and friendly. He didn't rush us one bit and checked in to make sure we were all good. He was awesome. AMBIANCE- I wasn't expecting this place to look as nice as it did! Plenty booth seating (I'm a booth only gal) so that was great. I would definitely come back when I'm in the area!

Theres plenty of parking and they have a small area for outside seating. As you walked in, there's plenty of seating, they have an open kitchen concept, a side room for special events or meetings (25 people capacity) but it's their mission that caught my interest as cashier/ hostess Lexi explains to me. This company spreads and provides charity catering throughout the community with multiple outlets. Lexi was very patient as she explains how the menu works. I ordered 3 items: 1) Loaded baked potato 2) Fried fish 3) Chicken and waffles. I just wanted to taste the baked potato without any protein on top. I don't know what it was that had an off taste, maybe the butter. The potato itself was soft topped with cheese, green onions and a little bland. The chicken and waffle were tasty. The fried chicken wasn't as crispy as I would like it but it was well seasoned and the waffle was soft. There are so many options for your sides. So for the fried fish, the appearance looks delicious but it was very thin and dry. Even with the tartar sauce it was still dry. I was really looking forward to it. The sides I selected were fries and hope cakes (which are sweet corn bread). Their beverages are on point, I got their lemonade and sweet tea. Lexi was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant is only opened on Fridays-Sundays for regular business but since they do multiple catering events, they are open 7 days a week. They also offer Sunday brunch between the hours of 9a-3p which the entire dining room is open with mocktail and coffee station. There isn't a buffet during the brunch but a la carte off the menu. I would make a return visit to try their brunch menu in the near future.

I judge every spot against what I'm putting out at home... and a lot of places fall short -- whether it's weak seasoning, lack of smoke, or just flat-out underwhelming flavor. But Wild Waylon's BBQ? Yeah... this place is LEGIT. We went all in: pulled pork, brisket, and the big dino beef ribs -- plus mac and cheese, green beans, a bacon-wrapped jalapeño popper, and the jalapeño cornbread. Every single thing delivered. The brisket had great flavor and was cooked right, the pulled pork was juicy and well-seasoned, and those beef ribs... absolute showstopper. Big, meaty, packed with flavor, and done exactly how you'd want them. Sides were just as solid. The mac and cheese was rich and satisfying, green beans had great flavor, and that bacon-wrapped jalapeño popper + jalapeño cornbread combo? Yeah... ridiculous in the best way. And the smoke -- you can actually taste it. That alone separates them from a lot of spots. The whole experience was on point too. The big pit out front lets you know immediately they're serious about their craft, and the staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful the entire time. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality you're getting. This is one of the few places I've been where I walk away thinking, "yeah... they're doing it right." An order comes with mashed potatoes & gravy on the side + collard greens. We each took one piece of chicken home for a second meal. I hate to say this but it was a step up from box Kraft mac & cheese. The Grilled lamb chops were served with roasted fingerling potatoes and sauteed green beans. While the lamb chops were plentiful and we appreciated that, again the sides that accompanied the dish lacked flavor. To be an upscale Southern cuisine restaurant they missed the mark on some of the staples sides and that was a little disheartening.
