My friend and I traveled 150 miles to eat at cheddar's. We were sitted in the back. The booth seat caused us to sit so low that the table was almost hitting our chin. The menu has been completely changed since our last visit approximately 6 months ago. None of the food was the same. The onion rings had to much breaded crust on them. I was late getting my side order. The waitress would ask twice "did you want cheese on your burger?" (Just an example. ) We used to enjoy our trip to Cheddar's, and always looked forward to eating there. After leaving there we decided to try other restaurants and not travel 150 miles to get food that we could get 10 miles from our home. The staff was not as friendly as they used to be. read more

This Cheddar's was very good. They had decent food (3 ordered burgers and I got the Chicken and Waffles). Their strawberry lemonade was very good and refreshing. The prices were excellent! Wait staff was quick and attentive. I like the décor in this place along with the large fish tank! read more

This was a great dining experience. The steak was great, the service was great, we were seated in a timely fashion. My wife had the New Orleans Pasta. I thought it was very good. Service is slow...they never have enough bread baked so you are halfway through your meal before you get any bread. Green beans are fantastic...but not a fan of their salads. For a $10 salad I expect more then just lettuce and cheese and a couple pieces of chicken. read more

I give one star for the food. It was okay. What really disappointed me, was the fact that the dining room was nearly empty, and the waitstaff was not under manned, and the floor was not clean, tables were not bussed, the bathroom was not ship shape; and I had one drink-which was empty for the majority of our visit there. The server, my husband and I had, was a whole other story; and not in a positive way. This young man, the whole time we were there was probably at our table all of four times, which are as follows: when we ordered, when our drinks came, when our food was served, when I finally got a refill, and when he brought our check. Sorry, five, I lied. This was the only time he spoke to us, which was brief. Now not only was I unsatisfied with the lack luster service from our waiter, I was also unimpressed with his attitude. This man looked completely dissatisfied , and slightly disgusted that he had to be there. Which I understand work sucks and so can customers, but at least fake it and go talk smack about me where I can't hear you! Another thing that really upset me was the fact that I saw a staff member walk by about every three seconds, so by no means was the place understaffed; they were simply not motivated. The table across from us stayed un-bussed after that particular patron had left, until we left, and probably after that. Which was made worse when a new customer walked right past it, looked at the table, and was seated directly beside it. Which really bothers me. I used to be a hostess at Cracker Barrel and I would have gotten yelled at if that would have been me. Because customers don't want to see dirty tables. Especially when they first walk in, because it eludes to a bad dining experience. Not to mention, the only time I ever saw our server with something in both hands was when he brought our food, which was not on a tray. It was in his hands, which I have no way of telling if they were washed or not. For all I know, with his attitude, he could have spit in my mango tea when he finally brought me a refill; which was just before we were about to leave. And the sad part is, this isn't the first time my husband and I have had a horrible dining experience here. Nor has it been the only bad dining experiences that I've heard about happening there. So, in closing, there should have been no reason that the floor should have been dirty; no reason that the table was not bussed right away, no reason I should have went most of my lunch without a drink; no reason my food should have been questionable; no reason someone couldn't check on us; no reason the floor should not have at least been swept; no reason the bathroom should not have been "ship shape" ; no reason the bathroom trash should have been full; and I should not have had to wait ten minutes for the check before we leave. I'm sorry Cheddars but you're gonna have to step it up, because almost every time I go there something like this happens. And I will be checking in to see if you've improved. And I will leave another review. The outcome is completely up to you. And let your servers know, that until I see improvement I will not be leaving them a tip. Especially if I see other patrons not being served well, like I did today. Oh and one more thing. Your severs. We'd to carry food out on trays. I don't want my server to touch my food. Tonight was the worst!!! Servers was not friendly... Takes forever to take orders .. Two couples was side by side with us come after us, got there food b4 us which we order first... We asked to talk to the manager .. Never see him show up, until 10 min later the server come with the food we order, my husband decided to cancel!!! Selected this restaurant after reading all the yelp reviews. Defintly agree with those before me. Good menu selection, nice size portions and decent prices. Our waitress was very good. Our daughters baked potato was brought out a half hour before her meal, we had already decided to ask for another one but when our waitress arrived with our meal she had already brought a replacement without us asking......very nice. Only complaint was an extremly long wait for our food, but was defintly warned ahead of time so really can't complain, heard the PGA was in town. Appetizer and salads were very quick but food took 45 minutes. Waitress kept drinks filled and we were forced to do nothing but use the time play candy crush on our phones. Love this place. I think We've tried everything on the menu and it is scrumptious. There's nothing bad. They have a huge selection, the portions are huge, and it is very reasonably priced. Have frequented this restaurant many times during the last several years, but my last 3-4 visits have been disappointing. We ate there last night, both had fish dish, both were undercooked and smelled. Wife sent the salmon back, instead of bringing a new dish they re-cooked the existing food, never had that happen before. I have now been back to Cheddar's a few more times since my last review because my parents really like going despite its flaws. I bumped it up a star because the food has been consistently good and the prices are fair. However, the service has been sketchy just about every time I've gone and you have to wait an hour before you get your food. For example, my cousin ordered a salad and she had to remind the waitress three or four times that she had ordered one. Her meal came out and she still did not have her salad until 20 minutes after she got her food. If they could just improve the service and speed, this place would be great! read more

First time I had been here, it was great. Our sever was Rose, very polite and she could answer questions about things on the menu. I had the key west chicken and shrimp, it was so delicious. I've never had chicken cooked so done and it was so juicy. The spices on the shrimp and chicken was amazing just the right amount of heat. This was by far one of the best meals I have ever had. We both had the half rack of ribs with the honey BBQ sauce. Very well cooked. The meat was tender with plenty on the bones and the flavor was outstanding. This was the first time we had eaten in a Chedders and we were not disappointed. The service was quite good and our server was attentive. The price was a good value. My side items were mashed potatoes (real, not boxed) and slaw (perfectly seasoned). Absolutely, the best ribeye around! The Cole slaw was the best I've eaten since my family reunion. Yesterday- May 2, was my first visit to Chedders. I was NOT disappointed. It was a little chilly inside but the staff was very polite and knowledgeable about the food and menu. They We're dressed nice and clean, had wonderful manners and a smile on their face. Due to some of the reviews I've read, my wife and I have avoided going to Cheddars for some time. However, we were looking for something new and decided to try Cheddars for ourselves. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food and service was. Our waitress was Tashannon, hope I spelled it right, she was awesome and took very good care of us. The service (thanks, Larry!) and meal at Cheddar's in Beckley, WV was exceptional! I had a bacon cheeseburger with additional mushrooms. The burger was well cooked and tasted delicious. My wife had a salad and half rack of BBQ ribs. I sampled both of these, and the salad was fresh and well-prepared and the ribs were fall-off-the-bone tasty. The restaurant was full the entire time that we were there, and everyone seemed pleased with their service and meals. We were there with three relatives, and the total meal was $65. Great food and great service. This is a really friendly and calming place to stop after a long day of driving. There is a fascinating fish tank that you can't help getting mesmerized by. This was the best chain restaurant experience I have ever had. Our waiter was Eric, and he was amazing! Happy and attentive. Our appetizer came out very quickly. We had the Maui margarita, excellent! I hate leaving a negative review but I have to for this place. The food is hit and miss but mostly a giant miss. Had a huge hair in my food one night I was offered a free giant cookie--I mean really. I got to pay for the food that was hairy. Then I went back a few months later and my server was so rude I was ready to walk out. When I did finally get my food I had to send it back because my "fresh" steamed vegetables looked like they were 100 years old, they were shriveled up and gross and then my server was annoyed when I said something. Had a Texas Margarita frozen which is the best tasting margarita in Beckley. I was not real hungry so I ordered the Nachos appetizer. It took a long time to get the food. The order came with a circle of tortilla chips with meat and cheese. They gave some bits of tomato on the side with cream cheese. Asked for guacamole and they had none. If not for the great drink my visit would be rated lower. I told the manager the nachos were lame and not worth the effort. Go big with nachos or go home. read more

I was very impressed by the variety and by some of the unique dishes offered by Cheddar's. However, I was slightly disappointed by the presentation of some of my party's meals. Three people ordered steak "medium-rare" or "medium" and it came out well-done and curled up on the edges. I was with a large party (8 people), and half of us got our food long before the rest of the group. I felt like they could have held our dishes so that everyone could start eating at the same time. However, the server was very friendly and helpful. My sirloin was good, albeit a bit dry, and the cole slaw was delicious!
