    Chicken Fried Steak
    Richard C.

What a great experience especially since it's Easter Sunday. They got as right in. I ordered the trout and it was one of the best that I've ever had. The broccoli and cold slaw was a perfect complement to a healthy lunch. The Chicken fried steak was a little tough, I was told but, I didn't try it. Our waitress was very busy and did a great job keeping up. Thank you Billie.

Cheddars is a good American bar & restaurant. We go to the location in Aurora at Cornerstar. It is almost always busy so take out is sometimes the easiest. The chicken tender platter is . You get six huge chicken tenders in a delicious yet light batter that has the best crunch. They are served with a tangy honey mustard dipping sauce and two sides. The regular French fries are good. The sweet potato fries are worth the upcharge and the perfect balance of sweet, salty and snappy. The other sides that are delicious are the broccoli cheese casserole and Mac n cheese. The broccoli is good when having something healthy offsets the tenders. You can get the chicken tenders in buffalo sauce; however, the sauce while tasty does take away the crunchy factor (was after being taken home in a to-go container) I have tried the Dijon chicken as well. It is two grilled chicken breasts over rice with a sweet tangy mustard sauce, mushrooms and two sides. The grilled chicken is offset by the sauce that is tasty but very heavy and almost too sweet. The last thing I've had is the Philly cheesesteak. It was good but not as authentic as other options in the metro area. Roll was fine and cheese melted on top. Still ate every bite. Will come back.

First time at the location. Tuesday evening, 6:30p order pick up. You pick up call in orders at the bar and I learned real quick that you cannot enter the bar from the side door, cause it was locked. I'm used to being able to use that door at Cheddar's but they lock this one. There was just one bartender and a full bar of customers. She was super friendly and did her best with taking care of everyone. I waited for just a few minutes before she greeted me. Then I waited about 5 minutes for my order to come out. But it was missing the sauces and the drink, So I waited about 5 more minutes to get her attention. She helpes get my order completed and that was it. I ordered the chicken pot pie which comes with salad and a croissant. I also ordered a kids chicken tenders and sweet baby carrots. The chicken pot pie is really good, They make it from scratch. I recommend it. The salad was struggling, the lettuce was not in good condition. But I do love their homemade ranch dressing and their homemade honey mustard dressing, so good! And if you don't know about them croissants, You better get you some because they are super delicious. Anywho, this location had plenty of business so they must be doing something right. I know those croissants are always right.

Today was my first time dinning at Cheddars and I really liked the atmosphere. Everything looked clean and the waiter was very friendly and very attentive all The time. The food was just decent for the price, I had better but I want to highlight something...that fact their customer service was great and very friendly will make us to go back again but this time with family and friends.

Love how welcoming and cozy the entire place is! Many real plants, stone and wood walls, and the big slow fan in the main room really makes the restaurant lovely. AND it's very clean!!! Our delightful server was Maddy who was attentive and friendly and helpful. Her tactful timing was appreciated and we ordered our food. Dad ordered the chicken fried steak and loved it. Mom got the chicken fried chicken and really liked her food also. Hubby got the 6 oz. sirloin and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned well. I wasn't in the mood for meat so I ordered the vegetable dish which was a salad or soup and 4 side dishes!! Holy mackerel! Almost everything was fabulous and we all left happy and satiated.

We tried to get a table last night, a Sunday. It was busy as it always is. When we walked up to the hostess stand, the young woman told me to hold on while she answered the phone. Ok. Not that big of a deal, I guess. Then another (older woman, short hair w/glasses) walked up to the hostess stand and attempted to help us. She asked what a good name to use was and repeated it back incorrectly. She asked for my phone number and told us that it would be 10-15 minutes and made a face like she knew that we knew that that was a canned response. I did get a confirmation text that we were on the list, but we were never called for a table! After waiting for almost an hour, we walked across the parking lot to Real De Minas where we were seated and helped immediately.

We had a sub par experience at Cheddars. It's actually pretty sad because we always choose this as our spot to meetup because of its usual high quality food and menu. Our service was really good despite it being a busy night! However, our food wasn't very good. The catfish was heavily breaded (more than usual) which took away from the taste of fish. The onion rings and the drinks were very good though. So this was a mixed experience. Hopefully next time it will be better food wise. We sat in the bar area this time which was an ok environment.

Came here on a Tuesday night would a group of friends around 7:30pm. We were seating right away near the bar area. It seemed like two waiters running the show and being the bartender! Our waiter was great, very attentive even though he had quite a few other tables. We appreciated the fact that he made our table a milkshake even though it wasn't on the menu. The Texas Tea was amazing and beyond refreshing. Plus, the prices on these drinks are extremely reasonable. The food came out in 10/15 minutes or so and it was cooked perfectly! I had the BBQ burger and it was tasty. Nothing to write home about but definitely a well-cooked burger. The fish and pasta dish were fairly large portions, so we were able to take home leftovers. I was so pleasantly surprised with the bill when it came, our waiter was nice enough to split the check 4 ways and it was $22 for a burger fries and alcohol beverage! Great Deal! Highly recommend for a big group or smaller get togethers. If I am ever in the area, I would be happy to eat here again. Overall 4/5 stars!

My kiddos were es static about it and enjoyed the fun it bought to the table. Our waiter came over and took our drink orders. Which consisted of sweet tea with lemon, strawberry lemonades, raspberry lemonade, chocolate milk, root beer, Dr Pepper, Sprite and water with lemon. He was very polite, patient and attentive. They bought some rolls and butter for the table. The restaurant was packed with family enjoying Easter dinner and fellowshipping. The ambience was laid back and family oriented. So the vibe was very pleasant. I ordered a grilled chicken breast and loaded baked potato. The kiddos had pizza and fries, cheeseburger and fries, chicken strips and applesauce. My husband had a steak, broccoli, with rice medley. Others had the salmon with veggies, fried catfish with salad, ribs and fries, steak with red beans and rice, sweet potato and pot roast with potatoes and veggies. Everything thing was delicious. Me and The Hubs had a 'date night' here a few weeks ago one night mid-week. The night we went,…read morethey weren't very busy and plenty of tables were available both inside and on their beautiful patio. We started with indoor seating since we both thought it was a little too warm outside, but the a/c was blowing super hard on our heads and we moved outside. That turned out to be a great move! Their patio is so inviting - so many pots and hanging baskets of flowers! AND it turned out not to be too warm so we were very happy. We both ordered beers (duh) to start and an order of the Crispy Fried Brussel Sprouts (deep fried and drizzled with a balsamic vinegar glaze). These days every restaurant seems to feel the need to have B sprouts on their menu. Some are really good. Some just aren't. These were the really good ones as far as I'm concerned - they were just sprouts perfectly crispy fried and with none of the stuff I don't want (ie no bacon, cheese, croutons, etc). And the amount served was very generous! Delish! I already knew what I wanted before we arrived - FRIED CHICKEN! I've had this restaurant bookmarked for quite a while mostly to try this chicken. I was not disappointed! It was so so good - super crispy, not greasy, not too salty, moist. Needless to say, I managed to eat all of it myself (minus the SMALL piece I cut off for The Hubs to taste). It came with two blueberry cornbread muffins and some slaw (I also ordered a side of steamed broccoli). The Hubs ordered a burger (I think it was the burger of the week) with slaw. Both of us really enjoyed the food. I can't say enough about their patio. Beautiful! The day we went, it was practically empty so it was pretty quiet and pleasant. I did mention to our server when we were sitting indoors (and noticed it was barely audible outdoors) that some music would be nice, though. Maybe they don't notice when they're working that it's off, but any night (and especially a quiet night) there needs to be music for ambience and so people that are dining feel comfortable talking. I REALLY hate sitting in a restaurant that sounds dead... Anyway, rant over. Our server was great. The restaurant (including the restroom) was clean. Will definitely return.

We understand they're probably still working through some challenges since this was only their second night back. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The restaurant's posted closing time is 10:00 p.m., but around 9:37 p.m. the lights were shut off while we were still dining, which made us feel rushed and unwelcome. To make matters worse, our waitress disappeared for the last 30-40 minutes of our meal. We never saw her again to check on us, refill drinks, or bring our check. We ended up having to get the hostess to help us so we could pay and leave. We genuinely wanted to support the restaurant and hope this was just part of the growing pains of reopening. However, if the kitchen or dining room needs to close earlier during this period, it would be much better to communicate that to customers rather than making guests feel rushed out before the posted closing time. We truly hope things improve because we've enjoyed coming here in the past and want to continue supporting the restaurant.
