What a great experience! We had such a nice server- knowledgeable of the menu and excited to be at work! The variety of food was extensive. We had a cheeseburger- delicious and cooked perfectly. First off, we went to Cheddar's last night (Saturday) after going 4 different places and being told we had an hour to and hour and forty five minute wait. We called Cheddar's, told them we had 6 adults and a baby and they quoted us 20 min. When we arrived, we checked in and were told about 15 minutes. We ended up only waiting the 15 min for a table which was great because my brother and sister in law had their 2 week old baby and we didn't want to be waiting long. However, we did get seated at this tiny booth that was not going to accommodate the baby we said we had. It was a very frustrating moment but the manager walked up to us and told us he was working on combining 2 tables and would have it ready in 5 min or less. Thank goodness he saved the day because we were all extremely irritated that the hostess would try fitting 6 adults and a baby in a carrier in a tiny booth!!!! As soon as we sat down, we were greeted by our new waiter and he was excellent! We ordered our drinks and food very quickly and had amazing service from him. The food was all around pretty good, nothing fancy but quick easy food. For 6 adults, our bill was $63 (granted I shared a meal with my mom but still, cheap for sit down). I think their prices are definitely reasonable especially for a sit down restaurant in our area. The lighting in Cheddar's is interesting, they have little spot like lights and depending on which way you move you may be right in the light or completely in a dark spot. We had to keep rotating chairs when we would hold the baby so that she wasn't in direct spot light. I do like the fan feature on the ceiling, it creates a calming effect. The restaurant gets very loud, especially on a Saturday night! I do feel like this place is relaxing though, especially for our family of 6. All in all, it was a pretty good experience, I do like coming here and will continue to. I think they need to work with their hostesses and learn how to accommodate certain families (with babies) and maybe work on their attitudes but other than that, I had a good time. Let's start off saying the restaurant was not busy at all for Saturday Lunch. The server did not bring water. It took 10 minutes to get a drink order in. It then took 10 minutes before the server came back to take our food order. It then took 45 minutes for two burgers. The burgers came they were cooked well done, and very dry. The menu is intentionally basic, things like burgers, sandwiches, salads, seafood and steaks are what the founders envisioned "good food at a good price". In fact, the founders were from Texas and their M.O. is exactly what Cheddar's is, simple, inexpensive. Bravo on accomplishing your strategy, unfortunately it's underwhelming. Despite the good atmosphere and service ( I've also never experienced a wait here), I really cannot be excited by the menu, just the most generic items ever--cheeseburger, philly, chicken fried steak, ribs, Caesar salad, surf and turf, grilled cheese... My rating is sincerely meant to reflect great execution on an underwhelming strategy. Cheddar's is by no means a bad choice, it's a safe place where everyone can find a plate and won't overpay, however, there isn't much pizazz beyond that. read more

Listen, if I am going to dine with blue hairs (aka senior citizens), it's going to be at Cheddar's. We always eat a late lunch or early dinner with the kids, so we are typically dining with an older crowd. But the kids love it, the food is always consistent. The lemon chicken is great, the nachos fantastic and the honey butter croissants are always a crowd pleaser. I wish they had crayons and coloring sheets for the kids but otherwise it's a solid choice for family dining. read more

My husband and I wanted to try some place new, so Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen was it. I am glad we did! Good home comfort food. The interior is done in Earth tones, with a tile floor, comfortable booths and tables. The hostess stand is not directly inside the door, which I like. I don't like having to wait in the door, in order to get to the hostess stand. There are seats there, just in case you have to wait, with the good food and service, I'm sure there will be times when you do have to wait to be seated. When we entered the restaurant, I immediately liked it. It felt like home; comfortable, friendly, welcoming, sit and stay a while, visit, relax. You get the picture. The staff was friendly, and service was good. My husband and I enjoyed a late lunch here on our first visit. I had the chicken pot pie. I love chicken pot pie. This was a good chicken pot pie too. It was the right amount, hot, and tasty. No complaints here! My husband had the fish tacos. We easily could have split the fish tacos. I wasn't about to share my chicken pot pie! They also have burgers, and made-from-scratch sides. There are different sections in which to sit, all of which make it a cozier, more intimate restaurant. There is recessed lighting, so it's easy to see the people in your party. One section, had a large slow moving fan type device. The center bar rotates, with fans on it, that gently move the air in that section. It was cool (no pun intended) to watch! There is exposed brick and a large fish tank as well. The interior is nicely done and decorated, all with their customers in mind. There is plenty of free parking in the parking lot. I absolutely love coming to Cheddar's. The staff is great and the food is delish. I would like to suggest that they invest it something like Toast, or other table side point of sale devices. Toast is a restaurant point of sale and management system that helps restaurants improve operations, increase sales and create a better guest experience table side with secure transactions. This would allow patrons to tap to pay with payment options like Apple Pay, and or Google Pay. This makes for more secure transactions. Passing credit cards allows patrons' credit card numbers to become compromised. Any way, this is a great place to eat! read more

Seven ppl were invited to my friends baby shower. I came 10 min late there, I asked the host about my group, she said no group there with 7 ppl. She checked twice. I sat there waiting for any one to come of the group. Then happily the manager asked me why I am waiting., I told him the host couldn't find my group, then he took me to them. Now, the food here is conventional and the dishes aren't unique or anything like that, but it's darn good. I highly recommend the chicken fried chicken -- which is perfectly fried and served with your choice of two sides. For those of you on a diet... you should probably avoid this place altogether. The dinner portion is huge.. you can probably serve two with the amount they give you. It's also nice that they give you the option to order the lunch portion during dinner hours. Another reason for the 4 stars... is the price! We couldn't believe how cheat our meal was, especially for the amount that you get. She was told to sit in the car and wait with no consideration and empathy. Very short sided and rude beyond normal expectations. We will not come back. Again, things happen no big deal. We placed our order, waited, and our food didn't come. We watched people come in 20 minutes after us get their food. When we asked the waiter he said, "oh yeah, I'll check." He came back ten minutes later saying it would be another 5 minutes. During this time we asked to speak with the manager. When you go someplace call Cheddars and it bills itself as a "casual cafe" let's just say I didn't have high expectations. In truth, long ago I had been to a Cheddars in Dallas and vaguely remembered it as Denny's only nicer. I am not sure if Cheddars would appreciate that description, but it is almost right on. Cheddars is basically a chain bar and grill - so maybe a better comparison is to Chili's or something. The menu consists of lots of burgers and chicken tenders on the menu to fill the kiddies bellies and bring smiles to their face. Plus they have a full bar and good prices to make the grown ups happy too. I had a chicken sandwich that I liked OK, but do not remember a thing about except that it came on bread and had chicken and avocado. Plus we shared the Texas Fries (cheese/bacon/fries with ranch). It was all unremarkable, but good enough for the price. I can definitely see coming here with my stepson - it is very kid friendly. I think 3 out of 5 tables in my eye shot had babies at them. It is suburbia so it is a kid friendly kind of place! It wasn't bad and since it is in our neck of the woods we will likely be back! I am a fan of Cheddars from my days in Texas. I was really excited when I heard one was opening in the Denver area. We went last night with the family and it was just like I remember! We were quoted a wait of 35 minutes, which is normal for a new restaurant, but we were pleasantly surprised when it was more like a 20 minute wait. Once we were seated, we were greeted promptly by our server. Our drinks from the bar were extremely prompt, especially considering how busy the bar was (standing room only). Our food was delivered fast and fresh. The food quality here is very good. We ordered a spinach dip for an app, chicken fried steak, an alfredo pasta dish, an entree salad, and kids chicken tenders. The prices here are really low for what you get. Our margaritas (large schooner glasses) were $5 something. The apps are in the $5 and $6 range. And the entrees were $7 to $9. They even had some great lunch specials. And don't get me wrong. I would never recommend a place based on price, as I believe in good quality, delicious food, and I will pay more for food all day long that meets that criteria.
